Description of Work: Dave is incredibably personable and a pleasure to work with. He enjoys his work and puts his clients first. He's flexible and thoughtful. We ended up going a different direction, putting the need for architectural services on hold. However, Dave will be in the forefront of our minds when we are ready, and in the interim, we will recommend Dave's services to our friends.

Description of Work: This is the architect we used for our large victorian remodel and addition.

Description of Work: We used MURIELLO ARCHITECTS & ASSOCIATES in April this year to design and build our new kitchen. Our last interaction with him was in August.

Description of Work: Dave helped us by drawing the plans for a two-story brick addition, including: --a full basement --1rst foor family room with custom cabinetry, media wiring, closets and walk-out to the backyard --2nd floor added bedroom, two new bathrooms & closet relocation within the Master Bedroom. --There was also new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, windows in and at times, throughout the entire house. Dave also helped oversee the permit and construction process, communicating with the Village of Oak Park and our Contractor, as needed, on our behalf. 1. Drawing the Plans-- Dave did a great job! We initially were going to do a one-story addition. We have a unique colonial house which has a sloping mansard roof that covers the 2nd story. Dave came up with many creative ideas on how to integrate a similarly styled and attractive one-story addition so that it blended well with the rest of the house. He did a great job on the 'what-if' ideas and illustrations. We selected one we liked very much. Soon into the construction process, we worked out an arrangement and decided to add a second story. Because we expanded the scope of the project and already had general terms in place if this should happen, we were able to quickly negotiate a reasonable fee adjustment. Dave worked with us again on a more complicated plan for the second story which intergrated the addition with the tricky upper level of the house (again, tricky because of the sloping mansard roof & almost dome-shaped top of the house). He did a great job! 2. Working with the Village-- Dave is well-known at our Village Hall and has worked with the plan reviewers in the Permit review and approval process on many occasions. That was helpful. He offered to come and meet with the reviewers whenever needed and he already had a good rapport and base of experience with them that helped ease the way with the permit process in general. 3. Overseeing the Project-- It was tremendous peace of mind as we began bidding and working with contractors to have Dave on our side. He was with us throughout contract bidding, selection, negotiations, contract preparation and review and he helped whenever any questions or issues came up. We didn't have too many problems arise, but there were times when it just made sense to involve Dave on technical issues and/or questions we had. Dave stepped in and provided great help in working with our contractor. Couldn't imagine doing this any other way!
