Budget Right Kitchens

Dirk was prompt and professional and communicated with me. He came with me to the design center and helped me decide on what kind of cabinets would work in my budget. I really appreciated the time and patience he gave. The design he was what I was looking for and he gave me some options. His quote for doing all the work was a little over my very tight budget, but not unreasonable. As of now, I'm not going with him to do the work, but I may in the future

Hire Budget Right Kitchens - just do it!!! They are fantastic! From the start, Dirk was great - He had some valuable suggestions that were incorporated in our final design. And he was very patient (with multiple home visits) as we hemmed-and-hawed on the final design, before we actually signed the contract. They weren't the cheapest contractor (nor the most expensive), but we could tell they put a lot of thought into their bid to help minimize unpleasant suprises. Dan, the construction manager, was a real pleasure to work with. Before we started, he had some good suggestions and wasn't afraid to tell us where our design could use some tweaking to improve function/design. As the walls were opened and some conflicts were encountered (i.e., unknown ductwork limiting wall removal and drain vent alignment), Dan was very proactive to come up with good solutions. They ended up building a section of custom sink cabinet/half-wall on a 45-degree bevel - a change from the original plan - and didn't even charge extra for it. The few change orders (and there will always be a few) represented true changed-conditions, were typically only for a few hours, and often were for less $$ than I would have expected for the amount of extra effort required. Marchen and Derek, the primary construction crew, were very professional, hard working, and had fantastic attention to detail. The finished project looks awesome - better than we imagined it would be! They quoted an 8-week project, and were done in 7 weeks, which was a pleasant suprise. For all these reasons, we added several items to the scope (partial bathroom remodel, foyer tile, etc.). We would hire them again in a hearbeat!!!

This provider was extremely rude and I have requested a refund for the deal.

Provided us with good designs for the kitchen remodel and also suggested couple of places where we can go and get estimates on the cabinets. We were also offered alternate designs at no extra cost.

It went great! I was able to schedule the consultation without too long of a wait, he was punctual, professional, friendly and honest. I felt he was very straightforward about what would be involved with a kitchen remodel and gave great insight to the process. It was exactly what I was looking for. I would use him again and already referred him to a friend. If we proceed with the remodel, I would use Budget Right.

It went very well. I would absolutely recommend them. Everything was pretty good.

I turned out fine and I didn't have any problems with them. We tried to use the deal before it expired so they came out a few months before it did so. We didn't spend anything extra. He took some measurements and made some recommendations about what I wanted. He looked around in the kitchen and gave me some sheets with some contractors and people who I could keep in mind for the remodeling. I was very satisfied with his idea.

Dirk was straight forward. The work I wanted done is something his company performs. He let me know up front so no one wasted any time.

He was very honest and helpful. Talked with me for a while about my options. Very helpful - I hope to be able to afford his services at another point.

He was nice, just had some scheduling issues. He is not willing to accommodate weekends.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about my experience with Budget Right Kitchens. In my initial consultation, Dirk spent lots of time asking questions and understanding the goals/objectives of my project. He was extremely professional, courteous, and gave lots of advice (this is my first time doing any significant remodeling work in my home). His quote arrived promptly after his visit and was very competitive (I got two other quotes for the project). When the work began, Dan managed the project and did an amazing job. Most important, Dan is a "problem solver"; as unexpected things occurred (you can't predict what's behind walls), he quickly offered solutions to get to the desired outcome. Based on our discussions, I could tell he takes great pride in the quality of the work Budget Right delivers. His attention to detail is is impeccable and I could not be happier with the end result (in fact, it far exceeds what I was expecting when the project began). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Budget Right for a remodeling project... they delivered on their promises (on time, on budget, quality result).

Due to the large scope of the project, it was expected to take about fifteen weeks to complete. It started in Sept 2014 and was to be done by Christmas. We were thrilled to have the project completed in eleven weeks, in time for Thanksgiving dinner. We ended up with an absolutely gorgeous kitchen of our dreams. Dirk and his team were consistently on time, professional and highly skilled. I couldn't believe how much their workmen could complete in a day, and they all took genuine pride in their work. It showed in their attention to detail throughout the project. We've all heard horror stories about construction projects going far longer and being far more expensive than expected. Ours was more expensive, but only because we kept asking them to do more. Even with all the extra projects we tacked on, they finished ahead of schedule and were on top of it until the final punch list was complete. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Budget Right Kitchens. We're now making plans to rehab our basement, put in a new fireplace and, at some point, expand our master bedroom and put in a new bathroom. We won't use anyone else, but Dirk and his team. I can't wait for the next project...

I emailed Dirk to schedule an appointment. Dirk arrived a few minutes early. However, once he saw what the job was he became rude and unprofessional. He essentially told me that I had wasted his time, and that he could have provided a quote via email rather than driving to my location. I do not know why he would expect customers to let any contractor into their house without having met them first. He didn't stay longer than 5-10 minutes. After he left, he sent me a quote that was 3 times more expensive than any of the other 4 quotes I received. I told him his quote was extremely high, and he brushed it off. I will not be contacting Dirk again and I would not recommend him to anyone, for any job.

I had purchased a big deal from them, and it turned out okay. Just one guy came out. He was punctual, it wasn't an amazing experience, and he emailed me the plan within a week. He did what he said he would. He did exactly what I had expected him to do. I would use him again in the future if I needed the same service.

Dirk was very nice, and gave some nice ideas. After reviewing other proposals I decided to go with a different company for the remodel.

.I really liked that Dirk gave me a list of suppliers such as plumbers, electricians, granite fabricators, etc. Unfortunately, the remodeling has been delayed for so many reasons. Currently I'm waiting for a new heating/air conditioning unit with a new sleeve to be installed. The company I purchased the new unit from took six months to have everything delivered and now it can't be installed until the temp is at least 35 degrees for two days in a row or the caulking won't be any good. It's nobody's fault but it's taken forever. In the meantime, the new living room floor can't be installed because we don't know how much space the unit will take. In turn we can't demolish the old cabinets because the new cabinets can't be installed until the floor is in, etc. But it looks like in the next few weeks everything will start to come together. In the meantime, we had Budget Right do some small things. I asked for some one to mount my tv and put in a couple of new light fixtures. I was told it takes 1 l/2 hours to mount the tv but the guy Budget Right sent took over 3 hours and he didn't even have time to put the cords behind the wall. He put in a new kitchen light fixture and got finger prints on the ceiling. I needed to know how bright two other light fixtures were so he hooked up one to the electricity and when he did he cracked two of the glass pendulums. Clearly both were cracked and chipped but he kept telling me the cracks were just part of the bubble design in the glass. In all it took him four hours to mount a tv, change the kitchen light fixture, test the new fixture and mark the screw holes for a new door. When I called to complain how long it took him to do everything I was told Budget Right did not want to work with me anymore. And I didn't even tell them he left fingerprints on the ceiling, left some of the packing foam inside the kitchen light and broke a $200 light fixture. Maybe the handyman was having a bad day. I gave him the benefit of doubt and even tipped him $20. In view of how badly things went, I don't think I was being outrageous to complain and ask for a credit. Like everyone, I just want things done right and hate having to complain. Maybe it's just as well "they don't want my job anymore."

It wasn't worthy.The measurements did not corresponed with the plan. We had to get another company draw us a plan for free.

It worked out fine. He got it back to us quickly. My wife wanted more from the design. He sent it in an email attachment instead of actual plans.

They did a phenomenal job. They were on time, on schedule and on budget. They worked seamlessly with other contractor and did a beautiful, professional job. They returned to finish minor details after other workmen had done their work. We would highly recommend Budget Right and plan to use them for our next project.

Dirk is very knowledgeable and gives lots of great ideas for kitchen design.

Dirk arrived at the time we agreed upon. We discussed what we are looking for with our kitchen and home. He looked at how we utilize our current floorplan and made some suggestions that would switch two exisiting rooms to be accomodate a large kitchen.

Good plan but the remodel was too expensive

I was looking for someone to help with some design ideas for a kitchen I'm remodeling. Not my strongest area. I saw Dirk's deal on Angie's List and hoped he could help. He contacted me immediately and scheduled an appointment for the next day. He was right on time, something I really appreciate. He gave us several design ideas and the plans to get them done. He also gave me some valuable suggestions that anyone new to DIY needs. It was a terrific experience. Just a truly nice guy and super professional. I would use him again happily.
