J & K ROOFING

I called and made an appointment for an estimate with Del. Appointment time came and went, he didn't show. I called the next day for an explanation, was told he was tied up the previous day (why no call about that?), but they rescheduled for a few days later and he arrived as scheduled. He spent the least amount of time (of all our estimates) reviewing the space, gave me a dollar figure estimate on the back of his business card. No further explanation on repairs given. We chose not to use this company.

Del came to my home and inspected the roof. The work was completed the same day and was very satisfied with the work. Will definitely use this company again with any future repairs.

The receptionist was pleasant, I asked for someone to come out to give me an estimate on a new roof. She said someone would be contacting me. 2 days later a man called and said he was real busy and could not be out for 3 days. I said that would be fine, he confirmed my address and asked what main roads I was by. When I told him he said those roads are closed. I told him, no they are not, he proceeded to argue with me insisting they were. My house faces the main road, and there is steady traffic everyday, it is not closed. He stated he'd be out on Saturday. I never heard from him or the company again. If he didn't want to do the job, he could have said so. It is very rude and unprofessional to argue with me, and tell me you will be at my house and never call or show up.

I first did an evaluation of this company too soon after the repair. A week after the repair the roof was pouring water into our home and caused damage to the ceiling, flooring, etc. We contacted them to see if maybe they walked on tiles and maybe damaged something. The owner got very angry with me. They returned our check and said they wanted no business with us. He never even came to look at the roof.

Excellent appraisal of the problem and quick repair, also very fair in pricing.

Overall happy with the work that was done. Was able to start our job quickly, after estimate was given and we picked out our shingles. Work was completed quickly. Only real complaint was ,that one of the panes in a window (4-pane) was accidentally broken by a wayward ladder and it took several weeks to get J&K to return to fix it. Accidents happen, so that didn't necessarily bother us, it was just the time it took to get them to come fix it, but they eventually came and fixed it. Would've given A, except for this part of the experience.

They did great job with the roof and cleaned the area after they were done. We are happy with the work they did .

The estimator was rude and made unnecessarily insulting remarks about our house. We hired someone else for new roof.

Excellent. Del quoted the job, then came back several times to show us different shingle options. They performed the work timely, did a great clean-up job. Del allowed my husband to cut insulation board to fit; and his guys installed them while they had the roof torn apart. It saved us a lot of time and money. I should also mention that Del had a family crisis during our job; but it did not impact his professionalism, or the outcome of our job. We would definitely use them again.

Everyone I contacted from Angie's list, insisted that I would also need a new deck which was on the flat roof that I needed replaced. J & K Roofing was the only company that understood my problem. I didn't need a new deck--I needed the deck removed, a new roof and then the deck replaced. The work was fantastic and the price was more than fair. J & K Roofing saved me almost $10,000.00 I would recommend this company to everyone. It was one the the most honest companies I have ever done business with.

DEL'S J&K CREW WERE EXCELLENT. THEY DID A GREAT JOB, WERE FRIENDLY, & CLEANED UP AROUND THE PROPERTY EVERY NIGHT. DEL ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS & PERFORMED THE WORKED AS CONTRACTED. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS.

GREAT TO WORK WITH, BUT PROBABLY OVERSCOPED JOB. WENT WITH OTHER COMPANY FOR REPAIRS RATHER THAN FULL ROOF-REPLACEMENT. IF THIS DOESN'T WORK, I'LL PROBABLY USE J&K FOR THE REPLACEMENT.

THE GUY I MET WITH WAS VERY CONDESCENDING, AND HE ACTED LIKE HE DIDN'T WANT TO BOTHER WITH A SMALL JOB. INSTEAD OF DOING THE JOB I CALLED ABOUT, HE TRIED TO TALK ME INTO A COMPLETE SOFFIT AND FASCIA JOB FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE. HE MADE COMMENTS SUCH AS: ''I WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE YOU AN ARM AND A LEG FOR WHAT YOU WANT DONE'', ''YOU COULD DO THIS JOB YOURSELF'', AND ''A 10-YEAR OLD COULD DO THIS JOB''. HE PROMISED TO SEND AN ESTIMATE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS (WHICH WE NEVER RECEIVED), BUT I WOULD NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY, ANYWAY.

I CALLED THIS COMPANY AND LEFT A MESSAGE. THE NEXT DAY, I RECEIVED A RETURN CALL AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR AN ESTIMATE. THE ESTIMATOR DIDN'T SHOW UP, AND WHEN I CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO FIND OUT WHY, HE SAID HE COULDN'T FIND OUR ADDRESS. I THEN GAVE HIM DIRECTIONS, AND ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR THAT AFTERNOON. AGAIN, HE DIDN'T SHOW UP. THREE DAYS LATER, HE SHOWED UP TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. HE REVIEWED THE JOB WITH MY WIFE, AND ACTED LIKE THIS JOB WAS TOO SMALL FOR HIM TO BOTHER WITH. HE LEFT, AND WE NEVER RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE.

DEL AND HIS CREW WERE EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME, PERFORMED THE WORK OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK, AND REMOVED THE DEBRIS FROM THE PREMISES. A WINTER HAS PASSED SINCE THE WORK WAS DONE, AND WE HAD NO INCIDENTS OF ICE DAMMING IN OUR GUTTERS THIS YEAR--THE TRUE TEST OF SUCCESS! AND JUDGING FROM THE APPEARANCE, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE DURABILITY OF THE SHINGLES AND THE QUALITY OF THE INSTALLATION ARE FAR SUPERIOR TO ROOFS ON SIMILAR PROPERTIES. HAVE RECOMMENDED J & K TO MANY NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS.

DEL WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH. HE WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS THE WORK, CREW CAME ON TIME, AND THEY LEFT THE JOB SITE NEAT AND CLEAN.

THEY CALLED BACK QUICKLY AFTER I LEFT A MESSAGE, AND CAME FOR AN ESTIMATE THE NEXT DAY. I HAD SOME DELAY GETTING A CALL BACK TO SCHEDULE, BUT ONCE I TALKED WITH HIM AGAIN, HE DID THE JOB THE NEXT DAY. GOOD WORKMANSHIP. COURTEOUS.

A TIME WAS SCHEDULED, BUT THEY DID NOT SHOW UP. I CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE TO SEE WHY NO ONE CAME, BUT THEY DIDN'T CALL ME BACK.

DELL, THE FIELD MANAGER, WAS WONDERFUL. HE TOLD ME EVERYTHING I SHOULD EXPECT. THE CREW WAS VERY GOOD AND DID THEIR JOB AS DELL TOLD THEM.

THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL, BUT BASED ON MY JOB IT DIDN'T WORK OUT. THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO COME TO MY AREA.

SAID WOULD SEND WARRANTY, STILL HAVENT RECEIVED.

I AM PLEASED WITH THE LOOK AND QUALITY OF THE "ARCHITECTURAL" SHINGLES. DEL WAS PLEASANT TO WORK WITH AND EASY TO REACH ON HIS CELL PHONE. HIS CREW DID EXCELLENT WORK AND CLEANED UP EVERYTHING, AND ALSO PROTECTED MY SHRUBBERY.

A VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. THEY WAITED A WEEK BEFORE INITIALLY CALLING BACK. THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE THE MATERIALS IN THE AGREED COLOR, AND TRIED TO FIX IT WITH SPRAY PAINT. THEY DIDN'T MOUNT IT CORRECTLY, SAWED INTO MY RAFTER, AND THE VENTILATOR ISN'T EVEN FLUSH. THEY DIDN'T SEAL OR CAULK IT CORRECTLY, AND DIDN'T EVEN MAKE SURE WE HAD SUFFICIENT VENTING, AND DIDN'T SHARE THE REQUIREMENTS WITH US. THEY ALSO DIDN'T CLEAN THE MESS THEY LEFT IN OUR YARD. THEY DID EVENTUALLY COME BACK AND CAULK THE VENTILATOR
