The csrs seem to be all foreign, yet I did not have trouble communicating.

I had space for a new tv in my basement due to a recent renovation. They made it possible to hook a tv up to a system in the basement. Their technicians are very knowledgable, quite cooperative, and competent.

I am happy with Comcast's service. I use them for my internet service because they were providing cable, and it was just easy to use them for both. I plan to continue with them in the future.

I had been with Comcast for years, but when I moved they were going to charge me for all new hookups. I didn't see why they were charging for a new hookup when I was keeping the same services. The techs who came were rude and they didn't want to do anything more than the had to. I had been getting a good price on my bundle, until I moved.

It started at $ 99 for the service and it has gone up to $ 162 in 2 years. I even got my own modem. I would continue to use them because the other networks are even worst.

They did some to fix a line, but they haven't put the line underground yet. The price for service is too high.

They only come out if something is not working. They have done really well for us so far. Someone came out when things were tremendously slow. Something was wrong with the cable outside, they got it fixed and it started working better. It did take 4 or 5 days til they could get out here. There is nothing to compare in regards to their price. Sometimes the price goes down. But I use the service every day. I wish they were more reliable but I don't know if it is better or worse than what is out there. I think what we have is the lesser of several evils. I would rate them better than the competition.

After ordering service it took me 9 hours of phone calls and we still cannot get service. Its available in our home but they have some internal comcast communication problems and cannot get the service installed properly. I cannot imagine anyone trying as hard as I have to simply order service (at $200 a month!) - we have had 5 visits from technicians and they cannot get their "account numbers" straight and complete the install. I have never dealt with such a disorganized company!! Tthey never call back when they say they will and when you call you have to wait 20 min to talk to a different person who says they have it all sorted out.... and then...we take more time off work and when the installer shows up they cannot install - they say sorry you have to call cust service again - they entered wrong info on the order again!! You cannot get thru to the person you spoke to so when you call you get a totally different person and you start all over again - which is the problem becuase they start a new job order and it messes up their entire system. The guy was just here for the 5th time!! and now says oops they did not cancel out an old order number and I have a order number that is different so even though i have all the equipment with me i cannot put it in today!!! please call customer service and ask them to delete an order number and enter the good number ... blah blah blah.... My next call is to tell them to forget it but the "wait" time is 35 min for customer service!! I'm going to try ATT U verse ( which is what the last Comcast installer told me is better - between him and me....)

On 9/14 I spoke to Dawn in the Customer Retention department. After checking, Dawn notified me that as a valued customer, my new monthly price would be reduced to $87.10 per month for 12 months. She indicated that this rate had been already annotated in my account prior to my call, and indicated that in her experience this was a very good rate. I double checked with Dawn that this is exactly what I should expect on my next bill, and she confirmed it. Given that this rate was in line with the promotional "switching" offers from the competitors, I informed Dawn that I was satisfied to keep my service with Comcast. I subsequently received a bill dated 9/17/09 that did not reflect my conversation with Dawn; it instead reflected the rate increase to $129.99/mo. That made me nervous that the Customer Retention department had not processed the agreement I had with Dawn, so on 9/18 I contacted the Customer Retention department and this time spoke to Jacinda (I can't be sure of the spelling). I covered the recent history and what I was told by Dawn. Jacinda checked and came back stating that regardless of what I had been told, Comcast couldn't offer the $87.10/mo price for the services, and that the notes in my file were confusing and that there wasn't a clear record that I'd had that previous conversation with Dawn. Jacinta also stated that Comcast's policy is not to match offers from competitors and that they pride themselves on having the fastest Internet service. She also offered to reduce the new monthly rate by about five dollars. I informed Jacinta that I'd contact Comcast's competitors about their offers before deciding whether to switch. I subsequently signed up for AT&T UVerse service and have cancelled my Comcast account effective 10/5. I don't think I'd be submitting a poor service report on Comcast if I'd gotten a consistent message from their customer retention department in the first place. It is specifically the lack of proper internal communication and failure to honor a clear commitment that in my mind makes this worth of a report.
Description of Work: I had Comcast service (TV, Internet, VOIP phone) for one year and was satisfied with the quality and reliability of the service. I received notification on August 14 that my year's promotional price would be ending effective September (A rate increase from $114.99/mo to $129.99/mo). Because Comcast's competitors are offering comparable service at significantly lower prices, I contacted Comcast to see what they were willing to do about price.

They could not deliver what they promised when the switch from regular cable to HD TV happened. I would call only to be told that the upgrades had not happened yet. I felt like I never got any action only an excuse that is why I cancelled them.

We get a variety of cable channels, including local channels. I don't like the way the remote works. I can't fastforward or rewind or anything. It seems like some other companies have an easier system. The reception is great. We don't have a lot of variety. The installation took a long time and the guy was late. He had to come back to do the rest. It was a little drawn out and messy.

They do fine with providing us our service. On occasion when we've tried HD, it takes a while for them to process things. When I do try to call them I seem to get routed around. I try to avoid calling them. They seem arrogant, but they're in a position where they can be.
