ADT Security Services

I can say the sales people are excellent. Very responsive, very good at providing needed information and setting up service. My problem is with the actual service of the product. This goes to the corporate level of ADT and in no way has anything to do with my local office. The system itself has gone off for no reason twice in 6 months. I happened to be home both times and was able to silence it. One of those times, I could not get to the keypad fast enough, so I got a call from ADT. They were unable to troubleshoot the problem. Many times, I have to enter the code several times before the system will turn on or off. Terrible quality product. We are thinking of switching to Keyth which seems to have a better product.

They are kind of commercial and I don't even know whether they are on Angie's List because they are kind of big. They have been very good.

My wife and I met with the sales representative, Stephen Bronson, twice. We had a lengthy conversations. After both conversations with Mr. Bronson my wife and I walked away with the impression that we would have a 6 month cancellation period in which if we were unhappy with the product, we would be refunded and the system uninstalled. Once beyond that it would go to the remaining 3 years of the contract. After a few months my wife and I decided that we didn't need this system because the way it worked was not sufficient to alleviate our concerns. The alarm takes 30 seconds to siren, and if you set it to 10 seconds or something like that you'd have to unlock your door in a frenzy to turn it off when you go grocery shopping. So it seemed not sensible to us after all. We called Stephen back to cancel, and he sad that we couldn't. He said that we misunderstood the contract. This shocked me because I made him meet with us twice before even signing the contract so everything was clear. That was the end of it. I was stuck with a contract I didn't want at approximately $42 per month for another 2.4 or so years and $700 worth of overpriced equipment (there are much much better bargains out there than this company). I am not an forgiving, forgetful, or uneducated person. This salesperson and this business did my family wrong, and I waited the entire contract;s length to cancel (did so a month ago). I hope all consumers avoid this business in its entirety.

We have used them for about 2 years. They are consistent. The customer service is okay.

We have been using them for about 15 months. They are very prompt. They are very accurate. They are spot on with their timings. We haven’t really had any problems with the system at all. The installation was about $1,400. We still have them in the house.

The cost is around $3000. They were supposed to come on July 3rd and they cancelled on that day. So it wasn't really great service but the sales rep who gave us the system is trying to resolve that poor customer service. It was a bad experience but at least they're trying to resolve the issue. They gave us the quote about 2 weeks ago and they were to come out a week later but they cancelled so they scheduled for the following week. The worker was very nice and in terms of cost, they seemed to be very competitive.

I am happy with ADT. We had a different company that we were not happy with so, we switched over to ADT. We bought it about 4 months ago.

They came out to my home to install a security system. First, they installed it in the middle of my living room instead of by the front door where it should have been. When I told them I wanted it by the front door, they moved it, but left a big hole in my wall where it had been previously. When I asked them to fill the hole, they told me to hang a picture over it. Eventually they ended up sending me a check to have the hole repaired myself. 1 month after it was installed, the system failed. When I called them, they told me to unplug it and plug it back in. This is when I realized that they had messed up the socket and had tried to fix it with tape. He had also put the sensors on wrong around my home and 2 of them fell off.

That is a good service. They are accurate at calling if the alarm goes off for any reason and they do follow up calls to make sure everything is okay. We had a really bad weather storm and is took down my system. They came right out right away to fix it.

They were amazing. My husband grasped the system right away and they explained it well to me and had me set the system. They were able to use some of the existing wiring. They were very knowledgeable and were very clean and I would definitely have them back again and would definitely recommend them to others.

I have used them in the past and want to use people I know. They get the job done efficiently but their monthly monitoring is not cheap. They are very responsive and I will use them again in the future.

They are fine. I would give them an A.

The woman arrived on time and was nice but didn't seem so well informed. She was not a tech but a sales person and I think she didn't recognize certain problems with wires, etc. My biggest issue is that 2 weeks have gone by and NO ONE HAS GIVEN ME A WRITTEN ESTIMATE. It doesn't give me much confidence in their ability to provide good service.

I cannot recommend ADT. Many years back there was a tornado in our area and my alarm went off and was disabled due to this tornado. For several months after that, ADT kept sending me a bill for the system even though it was not working. They were in the process of repairing the unit during this time but it was still not working while they were billing me.

Called to get an estimate from ADT, as well as, other security company's to compare prices, services, etc. ADT was a hard sell giving me a quote, but not letting me off the phone until they had a sale. I felt very uncomfortable. Once the lady on the phone determined I was not going to take their service, she got her manager on the phone who offered my all kinds of incentives to get me to sign. What I also didn't like was they asked for my credit card for the installation fee and explained to me the technician who comes out would give me a better idea of any additional costs based on his recommended services, and the card would be used to expedite the payment process. I chose not to use ADT, I feel, if a company is not going to allow a potential customers to shop around, then I don't want to do business with that company.

I found a coupon in the paper. We needed to use a better company so we gave them a call. They were prompt on appointment time. I know they offer lower monthly service fees, but would not give that rate to me.

I can't really say much about them. The alarm went off a couple of times during the beginning, but not lately. I always wondered if they would come if I press the panic button, but luckily I haven't needed to so far.

I am actually very happy to report that my experience with ADT has been extremely positive in nature. They are really good to me. I like the service I get from them and right now I have absolutely no complaints about them at all. They have been great to me.

I don t think there is anything special with them. I bought the system and they installed it. I don t have any interaction with the company unless something happens. I called them once, and they explained what happened.

It was so poorly installed that they had to take it back. They had to give me my money back. It was a sloppy job. The alarm system never worked. I believe the price was unnecessary. I believe it was extremely high.

I think that their product is fine but the repair people are not easy to deal with. If they have to repair something they charge ridiculous prices. They start clocking the second they arrive even if it takes them one hour to figure out what the problem is. But the system itself works great and if something happens they are very responsive and call right away. I don't know how much I pay for the service.

They seem to do what they are called on to do. Sometimes I get extra calls. The price is probably reasonable. They have a pretty good service. They provide very good customer service.

The technician was to call when they were on route and did not. I was told they would be there in the morning and they came in the afternoon. In diagnosing the problem there was a lot of head scratching and 3 failed attempts before the problem was discovered. I would not have minded had I not been paying premium rates that were supposedly justified by the technician's abilities. At my last home I inherited a system from a local firm, Sound and Secure. If it weren't for the high switching costs of replacing the entire system, I would switch alarm companies. I had only one system issue which was a motion detector that had to be replaced after 10 years (which is about the lifespan). The response times on alarms (all mine were thankfully of the false kind) were much quicker. It was rare I could call them before the police were in route. With ADT, I'm not sure how long it would take to get police on route because they have yet to respond that quickly.

Something happened to our alarm last weekend, I called and they said someone was coming out today. No one ever came when I called they said that the tech was held up earlier and would not be able to make it out until next Thursday (another week). When I asked to have their supervisor called me they said they would and I never heard from him.
