The workers were very meticulous in the way they installed the floor. They moved our furniture to include the washer, dryer, range and refrigerator and carefully put them back. The joints and areas around the baseboards were perfectly cut. Sam Lance helped us pick out the material and the color that would go well in our house. They have installed carpeting in the rest of the house before and it was also a great job. Don't hesitate to use them they are great.
Description of Work: Installed flooring in 4 rooms.

The good news is my floors look great, and Flooring Fashions didn't burn my house down, as they're currently being sued for by another customer (more on that later). The bad news is, they misled me on the price of the job, they didn't haul away their trash, clean the adhesive off the floor, or sink the nails in the baseboards, and they had to come back three times (once to hook back up my fridge's icemaker and twice to touch up grout). They were dismissive or derisive of my complaints, and I will not use these guys again and I definitely do not recommend them. I had researched flooring options for several months before replacing the floors in my kitchen and bathrooms. I had an estimate from Flooring Fashions and another flooring outfit in Swansea, IL. I went with Flooring Fashions because their price was a couple of hundred dollars less than the other outfit, and they had provided the name and phone no. of a customer who had had Duraceramic installed last year, and she raved about both Duraceramic and Flooring Fashions. (My husband had also used Flooring Fashions to replace carpet and vinyl in a rental home several months before, and had been generally satisfied with their work. However, he did have to have them come back to correct a crooked transition between the vinyl and the carpeting, and they did not clean up after themselves. My husband called to complain about the mess they left--and I thought they had gone back to the house and cleaned up, but I found out AFTER they worked on my home, that it was my husband to had to clean up after them, because when he called to complain, Flooring Fashions told him that cleaning up after the job wasn't included. Had I known that, I would not have hired them.) Their bid was written to include several options, because I was at first undecided about whether to go with vinyl, Duraceramic, or wood. When I decided on Duraceramic, I went in to Flooring Fashions, and told the guy working that day that I wasn't clear on whether the price listed on the bid on the section on the Duraceramic option was the total price of the job. He told me it was, so I gave him a check for half of that amount, and they ordered the materials. When I hadn't heard back from them in 2 1/2 weeks, I called them, and I was told that the materials were in, and we scheduled the job for the following week. Flooring Fashions got the job done in 3 days, and their guys were only about 15-20 minutes late on two of the three days. When I came home on the final day (a Friday), I couldn't be happy about how the floors looked because I was so horrified at the poor clean-up and finish work. There was trash sitting at my curb (where it sat for 4 days until my trash day), the nail-heads in the baseboards were all very obviously visible, the stove was not all the way back to the wall, and there were blotches of adhesive all over the kitchen floor. When I called to complain, the man who answered literally LAUGHED at me and said that they don't sink the nails and do clean up, but that he'd have the manager call me on Monday. Of course, the manager DID NOT call, so I had to call them the following week. In the meanwhile, the final bill came, and it was over $200 higher than I was told it would be. When I called, and the man with whom I had signed the bid weeks before who had "confirmed" the lower price answered the phone, and when I vehemently complained, he said he hadn't been the one who had written up the bid, so it wan't his fault that he didn't know how to read it, but that I'd have to pay the higher price. The only satisfaction I got out of them was that they agreed to replace a tile that we had scratched when we had had to more the refrigerator over the weekend because when their installer moved our fridge back in place, he had not hooked the icemaker back up. They also agreed to come back to touch up several areas of grouting that needed to be touched up. But because they had taken away the grout--which I paid for--when they finished the job, they had to order more grout to do the touch ups. The following week, I saw a small article in the Belleville News Democrat reporting that Flooring Fashions was being sued by a couple because their house burned down due to installers not properly disposing of their cigarette ashes in the trash they left in their garage. Must have been the same guy who didn't move my stove all the way back in place, didn't hook my icemaker back up, and didn't clean the adhesive off the floor. But at least he's leaving his trash outside of the house now.
Description of Work: They removed vinyl flooring in three small bathrooms, a large kitchen, and a small laundry room adjoining the kitchen and installed and grouted Duraceramic floor tiles. As part of installation, they moved/put back in place the kitchen appliances and removed but did not reinstall the toilets.
