Handyman Pros

Handyman Pros was great. The job was to run cable and electrical to a box behind the TV. Then hang the TV on my mount that I provided. The run was around a corner and he couldn't use the finished basement to run the wire , so it was a bit tricky. Gary ensured that everything was completed according to my high expectations. I wanted the cable box and power strip hidden behind the TV and it looks great now. Thanks for your help.

Chris quickly and efficiently repaired the door frame where the screws supporting the hinges had been stripped. I had purchased trim to replace moldy trim in a bathroom with the intention of replacing it myself. Two years later, we delegated it to Handyman Pros. Chris noticed that the wall where the trim was to be placed was damp, so he removed the existing trim and let the wall dry. At that time, he also let us know the part we would need to replace the flush mechanism for a Toto toilet. A week or so later, after we'd received the toilet part, Chris returned and completed the trim job and replaced the toilet part. He was very friendly and polite. The work was done quickly and exactly as we needed.

I found these fine fellows by using the SnapFix app. HMP was recommended as someone interested in the job (and they were). They were responsive, quick and easy to work with. Nick came out a few days after the request and did a thorough walk through of my place and the myriad of handy requests I had up my sleeve. We eventually went for a quote on 3 things (the drywall fixes in 2 rooms and adding can lights). Due to availability, I went with the 2 more important things (the drywall). I also asked for bathroom quotes to remodel 2 bathrooms but am waiting to see those estimates. Once I knew I wanted to go with fixing the drywall, the gal at HMP was quick to schedule. Gary was our guy and he was good. He was on time and quick to get to work and do what needed to be done. The one thing to remember when using HMP is - it's on you to buy all of the supplies. I mean, they will but with a 20% markup. Additionally, any additional supplies they need will also be charged. I provided the drywall and paint but there were still $20 in additional materials I needed to pay for. It wasn't a big deal - I would've been cool buying them ahead of time if I knew what was needed. All in all, the end result looks good and I'm glad they came out to have it done.

Did a very good job. He had to trim bushes away from the fence to paint, and the estimate indicated he would bag the yard waste for getting it hauled away, but he left it next to the fence. Other than that it was excellent work.

I followed up with an e-mail to the owner and expressed my disappointment about my experience with his company. I told him that based on my experience I could not recommend him to others. The owner chose to respond to that feedback with a long, defensive e-mail. I contacted Handyman Pros based on the reviews on Angie's List. They may do great work, I can't speak to that. But I would encourage prospective customers to be clear about what they want done when they call for a bid - and confirm that the owner is interested in that type of work. And I would recommend scheduling the estimate appointment at a time convenient for you. And definitely avoid providing feedback. He seems like a nice man, but he writes a pretty grouchy e-mail.

I bought an Angie's List deal that was for the professional installation of two grab bars. After purchasing the deal, the provider contacted me immediately via Angie's List email to schedule a time for installation. The scheduling part was handled very professionally. The deal included installation of the grab bars into the studs at customer's desired height and weight-tested after installation. When the installer arrived (on time), we discussed the location of the grab bars. He then told me that he was going to use plastic anchors to secure the bars to the wall. I showed him the terms of the deal, indicating that the bars would be installed into the studs. He said that it was nearly impossible to locate studs behind tile. I was uneasy about having the grab bars secured only with plastic anchors, so I asked him to try to locate the studs. He was able to hit the studs for one of the grab bars and for one end of the other bar, but the second end missed the stud. I instructed him to go ahead and secure the second end with plastic anchors. When he finished, I inspected the job. Although the grab bars seemed secure, there was an extra hole drilled through the tile (not through the grout) that wasn't covered up by the grab bar. He said he made the extra hole while trying to locate the stud and asked if I had any grout to fix it. I didn't have any grout, so he offered to caulk it with silicone caulk. He caulked it using white caulk on brown tile. I would have expected him to match the tile as closely as possible so that the hole would not be so obvious, or at least use clear silicone. When a company offers a deal for a specific service, I expect the company to be very skilled in performing that service. This did not seem to be the case with this provider.

Owner of the business came out and took care of all my issues. Originally it was subcontracted, but when I began to have problems, the owner took care of me right away.

Gay was on time each day and performed repairs as asked.

He scraped our some of grout between shower tlles he then regrouted with white grout. He came back the next day and. Some of the grout is already coming out and you can see the gray grout showing through.

Gary was on time, friendly and polite. He got right to work, made sure everything worked correctly, and finished in a reasonable time.

They were very professional, punctual, detailed, and did great work. They are very up front and have great communication and provide detailed written estimates. They are also a well-established company so you know that they will stand behind the work and they are bonded, have appropriate insurance, etc. Basically, they are great if you want to get something done and know that it's done right and that you will have no worries. The only downside (a fair trade for the peace of mind that comes with going with a larger, more formal company, but still...) is that they are a little expensive for what they do, as compared to a 1-man hanydman operation (i.e., some guy with a truck and a paintbrush). But I think that this is an apples and oranges comparison and that it is worth paying slightly more to get the peace of mind.

they would not do the whole exterior painting. I found another painter to do the job.

I was very pleased with the service provided by Chris. The job proved more difficult than expected. First, Chris identified an issue with the previous wiring and corrected it so the new fixture would be wired properly and safe. Chris then had the difficult task of retrofitting the new fan into the previous opening without attic access. Unfortunately the job took roughly an hour longer than had been anticipated but Chris was a man of his word and gave me the originally quoted price. He was very professional and honest. My only negative mark (very small) was that he was unable to get the fan flush with the ceiling and left it as good as he could get it. I only knock it because I was able to correct the issue today so it is now flush. Overall, I would highly recommend this company.

I was impressed with the professionalism and depth of knowledge/experience with this provider. In the end, we decided to stage the work in portions (shower revamp first, recover, replace the vanity...). Consequently, we didn't accept the estimate--but it wasn't because of this provider. I'd use these folks again!
