absolutely the worst company I have ever worked with. installers did not come prepared for the job I hired them to do and claimed that I didn't pay for the work being requested after I was very specific of what I wanted and paid in FULL the day of measurements. Install was rescheduled 5 times and the final appointment was confirmed on 2 different days. ended up cancelling the order and couldn't get anyone to return my call for 5 days. Can't express enough frustration with Empire. Will never use them in the future and definitely do not recommend to anyone.

I have some many problems with this company and they are just flat out rude. Never again.

They don't know what they're doing. They came with improper tools.

The workers were quick & precise about the project. They arrived on time and finished earlier than expected.

Sales team had poor communication with installers and the salesman who completed my in-home estimate could have been more transparent about fees.

Salesperson sold me the wrong carpet. When the installers came the said he sold us the wrong carpet. Salesman quit tried to get someone else to come out and never came after giving them a deposit.

The independent contractor they sent me was substandard and now very hard to get the company to rectify the many problems.

The sales agent was professional and flexible with when and where to meet. The installers worked efficiently and did an excellent job.

Make sure you check the pieces of hardwood before they nail it. sometimes the piece doesn't match the surrounding pieces.

Quality of work was 100%+.

Customer service is terrible. They didn't order enough materials and it was incredible difficult to get a hold of anyone in CS.

The salesman that stopped by was friendly and ran us through all the samples. He was very knowledgeable about the products and overall just a friendly person. We had laminate and carpet installed. They were installed on separate days by two separate contractors. The work that was performed was good and every thing looks great. My only complaint is that the first contractors that came in and did the laminate did not speak any English (none at all). It made it very hard to communicate on how we wanted the floor laid out and any issue that they ran into. We managed to communicate what we wanted through gestures and got the job done though. They did an excellent job, it was just hard to communicate with them.

The two sales people I worked with, both for an initial in home consultation and a subsequent correspondence through email as my needs changed, were both outstanding. Extra credit goes to Krystle, who many at Empire could learn a lot from when it comes to being available and understanding and accommodating. The installers also did a fine job. But Empire's customer service and those that work at their Pittsburgh branch (Oakmont) are some of the worst I have ever dealt with, at a level seemingly unfathomable for a major company, and I'm someone who works in customer experience, so I don't throw truthful insults around like that lightly. My wife and I were passed along and sent to non returned voicemails five or six times when calling the national customer service office. We were told after our installer brought the wrong material for the job and just left that we'd simply have to wait a few days and hope someone from their Installation Department would call back, with no other help or care given. It was nearly impossible to talk to someone at the Pittsburgh branch, as their voicemail boxes were all full or not set up, which they later claimed they were unaware of. When I finally got ahold of a person after my fifth try, I was promised I would receive a call back in a few hours and my situation would be fixed- I never got a call, ever. If Krystle hadn't fixed the situation from the top, I can't see how I would have ever had Empire finish the job. Just unacceptable.

Was told on morning of installation that installation would occur in the afternoon. Had to call at 5:00 PM to find out if installers were coming. Was offered chance to reschedule which i refused. Installers showed up at 8:00 PM.

Awful experience, would never recommend this company to anyone. Nice prices on carpet but I would pay more to get better service then what this company displays
