Problems with scheduling the installation. They were supposed to install both the flooring and the carpet the same day. At 4 in the afternoon, the guy arrives to do only the carpet. I had to take another day off from work to reschedule for them to install both the same day.

I met with the salesman who introduced me to a new product for my day room. It was scheduled to be installed the same day as the house carpet. I got a call 3pm the day before install that they couldn't install my day room carpet. It was incorrect type of carpet. I wouldn't have.minded except they had the order for 2 months and then told me the night before.

We had luxury vinyl plank installed 6/15/2018. It quickly turned into a nightmare. Our sales representative told us that the floor could be put right over our hardwood. He failed to mention that doing this would result in the floor not being level with the areas that were carpeted. Our installer told us this and we of course wanted our floors level. Therefore the hardwood had to be removed and Empire charged us an extra $300 though this was not quoted or communicated at the time of sale. In addition, we have multiple issues we are having to work on now that the project is complete. Our toilet was unable to be reinstalled and we have had to hire a plumber to come fix this issue. White quarter round was put st every door entrance which is a terrible move, as it is going to get incredibly dirty. Transition pieces (that don’t match well) were installed at two of three entrances into our kitchen, but white quarter round was installed at the third entrance. Huge gaps were left under the door frames. These issues would have never been issues with skilled carpenters or professionals but we are unfortunately left to deal with the remnants of a poor job. We invested a lot of money into this project for these issues to occur.

This company sends its crew out with not enough carpet to do the job. But they make you pay for the entire job anyway. I had to stand behind the van to keep the installers from leaving without doing the installation they could do. There was no support from the "customer service" part of the company. Don't ever fall for this scam!!

Empire did not show up. Then they would show up but I did not schedule the work. I open a credit card, but changed my mind . I wanted to pay cash and they put it on a credit card anyway. I called 10 times this week and got different answers each time. The supervisor was rude, my problem was not resolve. I would never never use these people again. They documented my account but I never said any of the things they said I did. Bad business...

It appears to us that Empire today subs out to Charlotte contractors for the lowest bids. The first time they showed up with our carpet, it had forklift punctures completely through the entire roll. We were installing over tile, and this was not communicated to the contractors, so we had to wait an extra four days to get our carpet installed.

The sales representative was great. The installation was fine and we felt we got a great deal for the price. However, the day of the scheduled installation, we received a phone call stating the installation was cancelled. The customer service rep was rude, blamed us for not reading the contract and accused us of cancelling which was a lie. Had we not already removed everything from our master bedroom and wasn't expecting company for Thanksgiving, we would have found another company. So we had to leave everything out in the hallway, other rooms until they actually installed the carpet 3 days later. What company cancels service the day of the scheduled service?

Loved Ann, the local sales representative. And the install was done well. However, the install crew was rude, they made a mess in my driveway, garage, and front yard that wasn't cleaned up, and they helped themselves to the soft drinks in my garage refrigerator (stealing). Great product, great value, horrible install crew.

Scheduling is completely unreliable. Carpet installer did not show up at all, Empire canceled my 2nd install appointment. Customer service was a nightmare. Very attentive until I paid for the flooring then impossible to deal with. Would not use them.

The work was good, but I overpaid and getting a refund extremely difficult. I called them about my refund and it has been two weeks and I still haven't got it. Since I paid for this with a credit card, I am in danger of paying an enormous amount of interest because I must wait for my refund before I pay this off. This kind of customer service is unacceptable.
