Empire Today - Detroit

I wanted to share with you how our installation went. I received a call the Monday prior to installation that they would be installing on Thursday the 6th, I confirmed. She told me then that the balance was due once the team arrived. If Empire Today wanted all of the money upfronts, would not that have been disclosed at the time of sale? The team of 2 were relatively punctual, however, they were incredibly rude and at times hostile toward our staff. Mohammad originally estimated that they would complete the job in one day. As this building locks at 5 and cannot be left unlocked or unattended, the job needed to be completed the following day. Mind you this was a rather large business job so I was surprised only 2 people came and expected it to be done in 7 hours. Mohammad made it apparent to others, not me, that he did not like having to come back. When he called the following morning to let me know his ETA, I let him know I would be in meetings and would meet him onsite at 11. He said that would work well as he would be wrapping up around that time. 10 minutes prior to 11:00, I received a call asking what time I would be able to be at that building as Mohammad was on a different floor from the job making a large scene, screaming at our Human Resources Director and CEO that he wanted his check now and that I told him I would be there by 10:30. Mohammad was asked to leave the building and wait for me outside. When I arrived I greeted him and said that I hear he has been impatiently awaiting for my arrival. He declined this and said it was fine and everything was good. I walked the job with him and pointed out a few bubbles in the carpet and inquired the drying time for the glue. As he was leaving, the HR Director came out of the elevator, saw Mohammad and it was apparent that she was instantly terrified. She told me herself after I lead Mohammad and his teammate to the door that we have in her office and in front of the CEOs office screaming and scaring our administrative staff with his yelling, swearing, and threats. His behavior was not only out of line, unprofessional, but an insult as our clients are Catholic clergy and we hold ourselves to high standards of conduct. It has been many days since this event and I had hoped that a representative would have reached out a customer service follow up, however that has not happened. Our staff is still emotionally shaken by this event. I am not requesting anything other than your knowledge of this event and to internally address it. I can not imagine how other clients of Empire Today are treated if this is how we were.

From the sales guy to the 2 installers , they had the best customer service, positive attitudes, great professional work and did a overall super great job from start to finish. Outstanding quality and service, installers were a few hours late because of being over scheduled but we're very professional and excellent craftsman. I'm very happy overall with the entire experience

I had a father son team do the install. They spent extra time on all the finishing details. The seller is a bit high pressure but after having several estimates their big advantage was timing. One thing the salesman got wrong however is the flush mount vents. He told me they were in backorder and can be installed later. The installers made it clear they they were indeed back ordered but if I wanted then they needed during the install. Luckily I found a set at LL and my installers stained and installed them.

Always a few complaints on a big job. A few broken pictures that were knocked off the walls, and they did not bring their own ladders to reach on the stairway. Otherwise I am very please with my new carpeting.

They have to come back and fix seams in bedroom and at doorway. Black marker in circle in livingroom needs to be removed

My experience with Empire has been terrible. Sam came out and I explained exactly what our flooring situation was, that I wanted one level floor, and he gave us a great price. We scheduled the job for 2/24. The installer came in, and his first words were that it was going to be another $2400 because he would have to put down wood to even out the floor. I either had to pay the rest of the price right then or they would not look at the job. I paid and then they pulled up part of my hardwood floor and said that they can only do it with 5 transitions. I cancelled my order because they could not give me what they sold me. I called the number to cancel and they said that it would be 10 days for the deposit, but the part I paid that morning would not go through. The half that I paid that morning did go through and we have called 6 times and we still do not have our other $5000 back, over a month later. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I firmly believe that they give people a good price, even if they cannot fulfill the order, and then are living off of the money that they don't give back to their would be customers.

The project was finished on time and we are very satisfied with the job. The workers were highly qualified and worked very hard. The wooden stairs and floor looks great.

Had two other quotes. Empire gave me the best price. They also included a sound barrier underneath the plank flooring, which the other company wasn't going to provide. Technician removed my toilet before installing for flooring, which the other company wasn't going to do. Technician included floor molding, which the other company wasn't going to do. Empire salesman came with samples to show me, straightforward pricing, and made the process very simple. I didn't need to look elsewhere after that. I knew this was what I wanted. Great job by salesman and technician. My floor is beautiful!

The installation crew of Stteve, Dave and Brandon were particularly impressive! They were professionals and easy to talk with. The salesman, Okey, was also thoughtful and friendly!

The salesman was nice but not well informed about his products. The installers were very skilled and I was lucky to get these guys as they were contractors and not employees of empire.

The installers were on time and about their business. They gave excellent tips on how to keep the hardwood laminate flooring looking new. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good contractor.

Carpeting installers were great on time and picked their mess. Wood flooring they had to come back and do some repair work. But came back with no hassle and took care of all problem areas.
