This was the most awful experience I've ever had with a company. Do not let them install carpet in your home. They are destructive and provide poor quality installation and a cheap but expensive pad. That was frayed and survival areas but they used it anyway. They left a huge mess, with all my curtains twisted around the curtain rods. They threw a couch up against my refrigerator damaging it and within 24 hours it quit working. When the installers arrived, I asked them very politely to Not put anything between my computer and my refrigerator in the kitchen because I would need in that space during installation. At 2pm I went to pick up my three-year-old granddaughter and when I returned they had thrown a couch into that small space and we could not get the refrigerator door open to put in the milk for her. I called the lead installer and after several tries he was able to get it open enough where I could barely reach my hand in to put the milk. The refrigerator had dents in it and when I opened the door later to retrieve the milk, the power went completely out to the refrigerator. I quickly shut the door and the power came back on again. The next day I flew to Tennessee to check on my mom and when I came back home my refrigerator went out again and everything inside was ruined. They sent the installer back out again to verify and see what he can do, but had shoved it against the wall so tight that the installer could not get his hand between the refrigerator and the wall to unplug and plug it back in. He finally started wiggling and moving my refrigerator trying to get his hand behind it. I told him he better not tear up my flooring in the kitchen. And he finally was able to unplug it and plug it back in. We were both surprised when the refrigerator magically turned back on and started working again. I had a repairman come out and said that the main panel was damaged and they could not get parts. During this time I noticed that it felt like I was sitting on concrete when I set on my new carpet. I called Empire today and they sent the installer back out. He said there was nothing wrong and when he went to pull up one corner of the carpet. It was missing the full pad. He said that was just the beginning of the role and they didnt want to waste it. I told him that definitely was inferior pad and he should have started it where the plastic moisture barrier begins, because it was useless protection without it. I had paid about $600 more for the upgraded pad. He was surprised that he got caught using a part of the pad that was bad and since that day I found another photo I took where they did that in my master bedroom and my living room. Empire offered to send the crew back out to fix it and I told him I did not want those installers in my house again. They sent another crew that fix the place in the living room and I asked them if it was this way throughout my entire house. They said the only way to know would be to pull up all the carpet to see and if there were not other bad spots they would charge me to re-lay the carpet. The pad I have is completely inferior, the workmanship and installation was a terrible experience. The customer service staff did not take ownership to resolve the concern. The salesman used to bait and switch tactic. Offering a great 50 50 50 sale but of course it didnt apply to any of the carpet that was a decent quality. When I called the salesman about my concern with the pad he wanted nothing to do with the concern and would not help. I did not get what I paid for and I hope no one else takes a chance on this company

Had several problems with Empire in the past. The carpet install person used my bathrooms and got sick. I was stuck having to call a plumber after he was sick in my restroom. I asked them not to even use my bathroom again.

LVP plank is only "SPILL PROOF", NOT WATER PROOF. After they took my money ,BEFORE even starting to work. When they were finished laying LVP plank over existing 60 year old linoleum, they did inform me to go buy a Swifter, because these floors cannot be moped! They are now in my BATHROOM AND LAUNDRY ROOM! "THEY CAN'T HAVE STANDING WATER ON THEM BECAUSE IT WILL SEEP THROUGH THE SEAMS AND WARP THE PLANKS".

I had a small job replace tile in my master bathroom. I had a few other people come out who wouldn't bid on the project. Empire did and set up install two days later. The installers were nice. They quoted me 4 hours however ended up taking much longer than they expected and I think they ended up rushing at the end which one tile seems a bit uneven and there is a lot of excess grout left on the edges. But was able to clean it up pretty easily. I may have them come fix the tile 2 year warranty on the labor which is pretty nice.
