All and all a satisfactory job for the price. Could have used the proper tools to remove the ceramic tiles & subfloor, excess dust created. When they first came to do the job, didn’t know they were supposed to remove the subfloor. Had to make several calls to company.

The installation was perfect, however everything else when dealing with Empire Today was terrible. Empire called me the night before my scheduled installation to say they did not have my carpet in stock. Also, I had to have two different people come to the house at two different time to measure for the carpet.

An automated message told me that their “ window” for showing up would be “afternoon”. I called customer service after waiting for almost 7 hours and they said they can show up at any point in a 10 hour window! Also, if for some reason they don’t show all they do is ask if you can reschedule. I had to take time from work and paid a lot of money for this project. You’d think a company this size could manage things a little better. All they want is the sale, after that your dog food to them.

I scheduled an appointment to have 2 rooms carpeted and 2 rooms of hardwood flooring installed. The day the carpets were supposed to be installed, they showed up and told me that there was a defect in the carpet so they could not do it. I called customer service and they told me they were going to special order more carpeting and it would be in and delivered two days later. I got a phone call that morning and was told that it still did not come in and they would call me back to let me know what was going on later that day. By 5 o'clock I never heard from them, so I called customer service again. I was told that the carpet still hadn't come but it would definitely be in the following day. I had already taken 2 days off from work and wanted it installed in the morning because I needed to leave by 3:09 for an appointment. They assured me it would be completed by 3:00. It wasn't in but then it would be installed.

The installers did good work but had to have them come three(3)times as whoever sent them out or they did not read the paperwork as to what needed to be done. We were told that the molding we ordered would be done at the same time carpet would be installed. First visit the workers said they could not do molding work even though paperwork indicated that it was to be done at installation. Their customer service was slow and wait time was long. Second time they sent a crew it was for installation, not for molding, even though we reiterated we needed molding. Finally, on the third visit it was done. Crew that came in did good work but there was a lack of coordination and reading of work to be done.

Flooring company was great-Decastro. Empire however was horrible. We signed a contract and paid for project up front, their Rep. was here for over two hours looking over the project and had spec?d out other houses in our neighborhood that were built buy the same builder. Then they wanted to charge us over the contract price because they missed something that the installer noticed. Called the Better Business Bureau among other agencies to complain, they were very interested in what happened. I hope Home Advisor does something as well or I?ll stop using them as well.

The sales person was nice enough but the entire process was too shmoozy (sp.?) for me; I prefer to have options and pricing provided at the beginning and less small talk to waste my time. We ordered some carpet and the day of the install no one showed up. Then we get a call to reschedule, no apology, and, if we had not already paid I would have just cancelled. The install people didn't gave it install the silver plates in the doorways. So, now, I'm stuck with shiny brass looking ones that don't match anything. We will not use them again. We only did because we needed something sort of fast and cheap- you get what you pay for!

Once the actual installment happened, it was efficient and looks great. There was an issue with the ordering of the carpet. I have to plan around my work schedule to have things done inside the home. I took time off from work the day the installation was scheduled and when no one showed up, I called Empire and was told the carpet didn’t come in on the truck. Almost cancelled the order but we were able to work things out and it looks great now.
