Sewer line had backed up into a laundry room. Needed immediate service. Reliance was on the scene 90 minutes after a Saturday afternoon phone call. Provided estimate, secured our athorization to do the repair, and set plans to secure permits and begin work Monday morning. Work was completed in one day. Involved extensive digging and upgrading sewer line to current new construction codes. Landscaping was returned to its previous condition prior to digging. These guys are not cheap, but their business conduct conveys strong confidence in their work. Their people and even their trucks present professionalism. Three months after the work was completed, the system continues to work flawlessly.

I have been happy with them. They are service oriented. They come out when they say that they are going to come out. They are upfront with what their billing is going to be and how it is going to work. They always resolve whatever problems we have. This happened on a Sunday night. They said that they can come out on a Sunday night, but that it will cost us double because of off hours. They said that it sounded like that we can wait for them to come out Monday morning, so we did. They have always been very good. They are very professional. We don’t feel like they are booking us out of hours or they are trying to cheat us in some way. They just come in and do the job.

The service turned out fine. It was a minor blockage and they discharged it while doing the scoping. I had purchased a big deal for the service. Everything went fine, I don't have any complaints.

It went well. They cut out the offending portion of the pipe, checked that the remaining pipe area was clean, replaced the missing section and added more brackets to avoid the sagging in the future.

Excellent. We called early in the morning during a flooding rain and water was entering our basement through the drainage system connected to the ejector pump. Given the emergencies that morning, we were fortunate to find Reliance on your list. They came within 3 hours and repaired the system. The tech was very knowledgeable and personable. The final cost was in line with the estimate quoted on the telephone before his arrival. Reliance is probably a little pricey, but they do good work.

It went poorly. My sense was that the plumber wasn't all that competent. After Bruce suggested incorrectly that the hot water wasn't turned on, I was uncomfortable with him. A good plumber would have taken apart our faucet to see if there was a simple way to fix the problem - rather than suggesting a new faucet which he could install at more than double the market rate!

Had some problems with sink holes due to cold weather that required follow up calls but provider always came back until job was completed to my satisfaction. Price was 'high' only from the standpoint that anything plumbing related is expensive!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. The Big Deal was for the estimate. They haven't actually done any work yet. It was fine and we had no complaints. They explained what they felt needed to be done and we discussed it. We went from being in the dark to knowing what needs to be done. They were only here for about half an hour and it was the first plumbers we've had out. They came pretty quickly.

He told me what I had done wrong, and ran the beginning of the cycle about 10 times to clear out the suds.

I have used Reliance for many years now. They are professional and efficient. Reliance installed the front yard vault and ejector system at my home. Since that time I have had them out for regular maintenance. The office always calls ahead of time to advise when the workmen are on their way, or if there is a delay. The professionals who perform the work are courteous and explain what they are doing and what additional services need to be performed. They will also tell you if you do not need something done. For example, when I asked if they should be coming out more often to rod the lines, they said that it depends on the extent of the root systems compromising the system, but generally no. They definitely do not try to sell something you do not need.

provider could not fix the problem after an hour of trying. Manufacturer sent new parts after I discussed the problem. I hired the person who did the original installation, and he replaced the defective part.

I had two leaky faucets. The plumber came in and told me that I needed a new cartridge in each faucet on two different sinks. Rather than have him go to the plumbing supply facility in Arlington Heights I decided to purchase the cartridges myself and replace the old ones. I would use Reliance Plumbing again for any plumbing projects I have in the futurew.

Just a phone call and someone came over the next day for an estiimate

I ordered the "Big Deal" coupon and waited one month for the daily weather conditions to improve from winter like to mid-spring. Unfortunately, the day I set up the initial service date there was a snow storm. Their dispatch did call and said he could still have his service tech come out to the house later in the evening that day. I decided to hold of until the next day. The tech did come when scheduled. He looked over the job, relayed his suggestions, and scheduled the work to be done the following afternoon. Actual installation took less than 2 hours.

Due to a storm in our area, we took a power surge or some other power-related problem and lost a number of things in the house, including the existing Basement Watchdog battery-backup sump pump system. We called Reliance, whom we've used before, and they sent someone out right away. Michael arrived and checked the control box, battery, fuses, everything that could be checked to try and save the existing system. He determined the old control box was fried probably because of the power problem earlier in the day, and a new system was required. Reliance provided the pump, riser, control box, float switch, and maintenance-free battery. The plumber installed and tested the new system, made a few adjustments, and showed us how to maintain it. The cost well worth it given we have a finished basement, so we needed it. We later priced a similar system and found the Reliance price was very competitive. They've never steered us wrong. The system Reliance installed is a better system than what we had, and a higher-rated pump. It's an investment. The system we had worked OK but we were not certain how old it was, and was a model you could purchase at retail. We're grateful for Michael's time after-hours and helping us in a time of need. Reliance is truly reliable and they have earned our future plumbing business.

Reliance replaced our old sump pump. The existing pump worked OK. We've lived in the house for four years and we were not certain how old it was. We wanted to replace it before the spring and summer rainy season set upon us. Michael came on a Saturday, we discussed the setup of our system, and he replaced the pump. He also recommended we run a second line out for a battery-backup sump pump system we have.

The sump pump circuit breaker went off. The technician that came simply turned it back on. We inquired what might have caused it and what we could do to avoid it. We had just moved into the house the day before. He had no practical advice and suggested we not flush feminine products down the toilet. His delivery left a lot to be desired. He made some other recommendations related to the quality of our equipment. In hindsight it was a bit surreal because we learned after he left that Reliance had installed this equipment. We paid $250+ for a 15-minute visit that left us bewildered and disappointed. After the new year I shared the feedback with the owner via email. He didn't respond to the first message, so I sent another asking for a response before I post my experience here. This prompted a quick response. We were working to schedule a time for him to visit and I haven't since heard from him.

Overall it went fine, but the price was so high I felt he should have checked more thoroughly and explained the situation better. I have the feeling it could have been done much more reasonablly.

Excellent practitioners with good professional ethics.

The sewer repair went very smoothly. We had obtained estimates from several other companies, and Reliance provide the best price.We selected them for that reason and because we had a good experience with them only a few months earlier. They suggested several options which we sorted through. They handled everything including getting city permits, etc. They were responsive and they were neat. Were were very satisfied with everything, and would highly recommend them.

He did not show up as expected - late afternoon. Called about 5:00pm and said prior job took longer than expected (I understand that it can happen). Said he would come the next morning and did, but was 30 minutes late. After being late, he came in, was very clean and polite, and took a look at the disposal. After 60 seconds he had it working. Since he was in my home, I asked what it would cost to put in 2 new faucets in my double sink bathroom - it was about $500. I was shocked and said no thanks. That was it. I don't think I got my money's worth ($199).

3 years ago I had to have them 2 hot water tanks and needed new pipes to be installed. Always very professional great tech's, very informative, always happy with them. Recent they fixed a sump pump I had them install and they always do a great job I will be using them again in the future!

Not much of a story. The toilet was not flushing properly. I called them, made an appointment they came and fixed the toilet!

I had Keith come out and give an estimate for the work. He implied that the dollar amount on the job would be determined by what they found out after opening up the faucet. He said that it would probably be in the $200s before the Big Deal was applied. He said that it most likely wasn't going to be a difficult job and then told me what part to order. Once I received the part in the mail, Keith came back out to do the work. He walked into my home with two screwdrivers in his hand for the job. From the time he rang my doorbell, to when he wrote the initial invoice, was a total of 30 minutes. He came back in and said that the cost, before the Big Deal was applied, was approximately $300. I was pretty shocked, considering his initial estimate. I then found out that they charge by the job, not by the hour/labor/work done. He informed me that it was a flat $300 to touch this faucet, regardless of the scope of the work. If this is the case, there is no reason that I shouldn't have known that dollar amount after our initial estimate. Keith blamed the Big Deal as being misleading, he had actually been complaining about it while he was working. He was grumbling about people purchasing this Big Deal and expecting work for free. I wasn't expecting work for free, but I wasn't expecting an inflated price to cover the Big Deal. He became almost belligerent and was unyielding in his pricing. In my mind, purchasing this Big Deal only gave me $51 off the work, as I spent $49 on the Big Deal purchase. This caused the total cost to be $249 out of $300. There was also a $6 "trip charge" making the total on the invoice $306 and the total extra cost paid to Reliance $206. My total cost for this project was $255.
