Description of Work: I did not have anyone come out. I spoke to a female worker and then requested I speak to the plumber. He phoned me back. I explained what I needed done. This is a simple job. He wanted WAY to much money for this, considering I had pd. 49.00 and was to get 100.00 in credit. I was not pleased with the pricing that was in addition to this. No service was performed. I am ONLY rating the female worker on her inadequate explanation! NO service was performed. I would like my $49.00 credited back to my card. I will find someone else.

Description of Work: Purchased an Angie's List special which was $49 for a service call plus $100 off of future services. Unlike other Angie's list service providers, Reliance never called us for an appt. Once we initiated the service visit, they came on out to address our issues, that being our basement ejector pump. They stated that the ejector pump that we bought from another plumber in 2008 was fried, which makes sense - we expected that. They offered to put a state of the art ejector pump for $996, and I have no way of knowing whether this is a good price or not. I asked them to install it, and when they gave me the statement of work prior to installation, they charged me for a $6 trip cost. Baffled, I inquired about the service of a house call from Angie's List, and that the trip cost was not disclosed on the Angie's List statement of work when I purchased said house call service. The workers called their Manager, who reiterated that they were really going to charge me $6 for coming to my house, despite the Angie's List service that was purchased. Also, no where was the $100 off of future services deducted. The charge of $996 obviously includes labor, but because they did not split it out separately, there is no way to apply the $100 off of service discount. Therefore, it became obvious to me at this moment, that I could not trust this company - and I do not hire companies, especially Plumbers, that I cannot trust. I ripped up the statement of work and said "no thanks" I am going to call a reliable and trustworthy plumber instead of this poorly managed company. I am out the $49. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the ejector pump is not working. This is my very first service provider from Angie's List that I found to be dishonest.

Description of Work: I called and they were very responsive. I wanted to have them install a new kitchen faucet which I hadn't ordered yet, so they told me to call them when I received it. I didn't get the faucet for a week from another company on line. Meanwhile my basement drain overflowed into the basement. I called the other company and they hadn't even shipped it yet, i told them I couldn't wait any longer as I needed the plumber immediately! They overnighted the faucet and I had called Reliance and scheduled them to come out the next day. They came out and luckily the faucet had arrived. So they fixed my garbage disposal which had a dime jammed in there, then rodded the drain from outside, installed the new faucet and soap dispenser, and finally installed a new drain basket. All the work was done! It did cost more than I wanted but isn't that always the case and I did get the advantage of their deal from Angie's List. I'm very happy with the work done.

Description of Work: The upstairs toilet was not working and I called for service. I'd had previous problems with the toilet which was 20 years old.I had actually tried to "fix" it myself and frankly I made it worse! He said, "well the next time you have this problem, here is what you need to replace" and showed me it was actually the plug that is attached to the chain. I liked that because he explained that the actual initial issue would have been fairly easy. He pulled out a sheet for the cost of the repairs and told me that the repairs were actually going to run over $400 because there was more than just the one thing wrong, and given the age of the toilet, he said it would be better to get a new one. That is what I chose to do, went to Home Depot for my Kohler toilet, and the same repairman came back and installed it for $225. I felt that he was honest and saved me money and that is something i have not always experienced with plumbers - I typically feel I'm at their mercy.

Description of Work: John Henry Holden installed new flusher and handle to bathroom toliet. I made appt. on Monday afternoon and was scheduled for a Wednesday mid afternoon call. Appts. made quickly, John came out on time. I requested a 5p call and John was at my door at 4:55p. John was courteous, explained the rates and quickly completed the order. There was no mess left and any parts were taken with him. I said that I was afraid that his Company would not take such a small job, but his response was "There is no job too small that they would refuse". They address everything. John made sure I had his card and that if there were any problems with the repairs or future problems to call and they will come out again. I'm very happy with the service, the pricing and the plumber that came out.
