Everything was smooth and professional.

When we had our first cold spell in late October we started using the wood. It was very difficult to keep lit, it didn't burn well at all. When I called to discuss it the manager admitted I was the third customer to raise this problem, and he told me that he would trade out our wood for a new batch which he was certain was much drier wood. We've been ok since we got the new wood!

Quickly loaded it into my trunk. The wood hasn't burned especially well. Didn't check/verify the dryness, but it seemed to be more "wet" than what I bought at another place. I had shopped around a bit, and his price was fairly competitive, but "value" seemed to be lower, given the "poorer burn."

I contacted the company to find out pricing of firewood and delivery prices. They placed me on hold for 10-12 minutes. Finally, someone picked up the phone and told me delivery was $100 without giving me any prices on the actual wood. Another woman grabbed the phone out of her hand and told me that they don't deliver to Winthrop Harbor. She was extremely rude while giving me the information. Winthrop Harbor is in Lake County. They clearly advertise on there website that they deliver to Lake County. Avoid this vendor! I will never call them back!

Ordered and delivered on time and as expected

This was my first time purchasing firewood in bulk and I was somewhat hesitant about the process. Red's walked me through the process and helped explain everything I needed to know. Once arrangement was made for the wood to be dropped off, they didn't even need me there. I went to work in the morning, and the wood was neatly stacked right where I told them to. Great service, I will use them again in the future.

We've been buying our firewood from Red's for two years, now, and have been very satisfied. They offer a range of wood types, and you can mix or match. They delivered when they said they would, and while stacking costs a little extra, the result is neat and tidy. Delivery people were pleasant and accommodating. We'll be back for more.

Purchased Firewood and they loaded the car. The wood was mostly wet so I had to return it. They apologized, unloaded, reloaded and gave me some extra for my trouble. I was happy about the quality and service.

They were efficient and actually brought the firewood earlier than planned when I needed them to. They stacked it neatly and I left a cover for them and they put that on. They were very service oriented in helping me decide what type of wood and how much I needed.

They come to the house and deliver wood for the winter at least once a year. They are reliable and affordable. The quality of the wood that they deliver is excellent. It's dry and peeled. They come in and stack it exactly where you ask them to. The pieces aren't too huge. If you want firewood, it doesn't get any better than this.

Couldn't be happier with our experiences at Red's. We started with absolutely no landscaping - not even beds dug for bushes, trees, etc. We had a plan drawn up last year (from a different company) and took it to Red's for quotes on all plants/shrubs/trees and cost of labor to plant everything. We also pursued quotes from 5 other nurseries. We found Red's to be highly competitive in their prices, extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. We actually decided to do all of the planting ourselves, but purchase all plants/shrubs/trees from Red's (over 70 items in total). We never felt any pressure to use their labor, and they were all extremely supportive of us "amateurs" in pursuing our own planting. They provided tips on how to best plant, what fertilizers to use, etc. We had them deliver all materials, and they placed each and every item in the general location it would be planted in. This type of service is above and beyond! We have gone back numerous times this spring for additional plants, annuals, and mulch. We will be customers at Red's for a long time to come and highly recommend them to anyone!

They were prompt, fast and clean. And, they threw in a free stack of kindling wood that lasted most of the season. The wood was good quality and well seasoned. For all of this the price was very reasonable. I will definitely use them again.

The people at Reds, are very knowledgeable! Their prices are some what higher, but the service is definitely worth the slightly higher cost.

They could not be nicer and the trees are flourishing. Reds was recommended highly by my arborist, Autumn Tress. They have a good selection and are very good about backing up warranties and extending them. They always stand by their trees. Mr. Ringel was the head of the crew that installed the purchase. He came out to my house to install the new tree and was to remove another tree. He decided to just replant the old tree in the back yard for me. He has saved trees for me like this twice. They always stand by their plant material. They even allowed me to have regular visitation with my tree while I waiting to have it installed. They took it out of the purchasing area for me and maintained it until it was planted at my house. Regardless of your knowledge of trees and plants there is always some their to help you make an educated purchase so that your investment will be something you can enjoy for years to come.

The soil was decent, some lumps but not horrible. However, the price was almost twice as much as competitors. I have found this to be the case with all of Red's products and services, ... firewood, soil, mulch, gravel.

Red's will deliver and stack firewood, but I didn't pay them to do that. I drove my SUV over to their store and picked up half a face cord of wood. One of their staff guys picked out a fair and accurately measured mix and then together we loaded the SUV quickly and efficiently. But here's what I wanted Angie's List members to know: the wood is outstanding. Beautifully seasoned with no pops as it burns, nicely trimmed, burns slow and clean, and throws great heat. First quality firewood and worth every penny. I've bought other firewood similarly priced from tree removal companies that's been total junk by comparison. I'll stick with Red's.

I ordered a facecord of mixed oak, cherry, and 3 bundles of kindling. All are well seasoned, manageable sizes and neatly stacked. I forgot they were coming (whoops) so they called and came by when I was not home, but they were able to redeliver the same day once I got home. Great customer service!

They were very helpful, the installation crew came on time, positioned it just as I wished, cleaned up nicely and moved the excess soil to the spot I designated. They offer a 2 year warranty on the tree. The nursery staff seems knowledgeable and the installation crew was efficient and professional.

Delivered as promised, stacked neatly. Wood is in various sizes, could be a little more seasoned.

Staff was very helpful. Suggested mixed face cord. Delivered wood following day. Wood was perfect size, not too long or large, which has been a problem with others before. Wood burns fantastic. Clearly aged appropriately.

He recommended a mix of birch and oak. It was more expensive but the wood burned so nicely and the fires were beautiful so we got some more. Great choice!! It's well worth the price!!
