About 5 years ago he laid a roof. There were problems later on and the stems were installed improperly. He was impossible to get hold of. Once he looked at it, he just did not return any calls to tell me what he found. I tried getting him 2 summers ago but I finally gave up and just called another roofer. The downspout was improperly installed. He did come and look at it but he just wouldn’t tell me what he found. I was kind of surprised because he seemed very conscientious. I referred him to do my parents roof also and they were happy. When it came to a problem it just seemed hopeless and I couldn’t get hold of him. When he laid the roof, I thought it was a good price. The people who saw it thought the work was excellent. Few years later I started to get leaks and they said it was because of the gutters. I have a split level house and all the water from the top roof was pouring directly on to the lower roof. That rotted very quickly and then animals got in. I had mice for years and I believe all that came from that. If he had told me that he didn’t agree or something then I would have listened. He wouldn’t tell anything. He came, he saw it and then he left. I left dozens of pleading messages asking him to tell me what he found. He wouldn’t do it. The original roofing job was great but the other part of it wasn’t. If he had spoken to me and told me what the other roofers had told was incorrect about his work, that’s perfectly reliable. The problem was he wouldn’t communicate with me. He told me that he came by. I told him that on certain time I would be on the phone because I do close captioning for television. On certain hours I cannot leave my office or look up because that’s my job. He came by at a time I was working. I left him dozens of message saying that I couldn’t see them but could you call me. He just didn’t do it. He did the roofing job exactly when he said but the other part he didn’t do it at all. He didn’t do the follow up.

He was very good, it doesn't leak anymore. My nephew had a roof put on by him and I had a leak so he referred him. He said he was very good and would do a good job, he knew him real well. He did do a good job, it was very nice and looks pretty and everything. I would tell people he'd be a good person to use. They left the area nice an clean, they cleaned up after themselves and that impressed me. I have sore knees so I didn't want to go around picking up all the trash. I didn't compare their price, I took my nephew's word for it that they would do a good job. He came when he said he would and so forth.

Molitor was recommended by a friend who just had his roof and gutters replaced and was very pleased with the work. Butch Molitor, the owner, provided detailed estimate with separate price per 4'x8' sheet of drywall sheathing to the extent it was required to be replaced. Separate pricing also provided for gutters/downspouts and to re-roof shed to match. Samples of the shingles and gutters were provided. Butch was on job at all times and worked directly with his employees. They took care to avoid damage to landscaping and picked up at the end of each day. Work started on Monday and was completed on Thursday. The estimate stated that sheathing on upper level would have to be replaced entirely. A separate quote was provided for this work. On lower level, replace was to depend on condition of existing sheathing. Only four sheets of sheathing were replaced. Butch replaced soffits and fascia with cedar boards which were primed before installation. The four by eight post installed for downspots was also wrapped in cedar boards at Butch's suggestion to provide a much better appearance from front of house. At end of job, employees used magnets to pick up nails in yard. To install the power fan, Butch had to access the attic thru our master bedroom. He removed his shoes and was very careful not to damage any interior walls or ceiling and limit dust and debris. The dumpster was picked up promptly on the morning following completion of the work. We were very pleased with the work and would highly recommend this contractor.

BUTCH MOLITOR WAS A DELIGHT TO WORK WITH--HE ANSWERED CALLS PROMPTLY AND QUESTIONS THOROUGHLY. AND I ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS! HE ALSO DID THE WORK HIMSELF (WITH HIS CREW), RATHER THAN JUST SELLING IT. THE JOB WAS THOROUGH AND HE TOOK HIS TIME. I RECEIVED REGULAR PROGRESS UPDATES. HE GUARANTEED THE ROOF FOR FIVE YEARS. I GUESS YOU CAN'T KNOW HOW GOOD A JOB IT IS UNTIL SOME TIME HAS PASSED. BUT I SURE DID FIND IT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
