It went very well

I am very pleased with Dave and his team's work. They were on time, thorough, and went the extra mile to make recommendations to help the project go well. I received high quality work from people that I trusted being in my home while I was gone, and couldn't be happier with the results. I had specific requests that were met fully, and when I asked for things that may have been sub-optimal Dave made suggestions that made it optimal. I'd recommend Dave to friends and family, and I'm pretty picky about my home. Give him a shot at your job!

Overall, the job went great! The workers were punctual and courteous which was fantastic since they had to come through my bedroom each morning to get to the job. The room came out great and Dave came up with a fabulous idea to add a skylight which really made the room come together. The cost was very reasonable and the workmanship was excellent. We will definitely hire them again!

I spent about $10,000 on the job. They did an excellent job; they were terrific. They got things done in a timely manner and they did what they said they would do. They asked questions and they were very professional. They were also honest. I could not have been more pleased. I will use them again in the future.

Dave and his team were true professionals. Dave was fast to respond, honest and candid, and helped me assess and make good decisions for the work. His team was right on time, cleaned up well, and did work that I could tell had "pride of ownership". I would highly recommend them. Thanks Dave!

Stairs going to the basement were in sad shape due to age and water damage. Walls of stairwell were bare cinderblock that was deteriorating. I had Lupfer come in and replace the stairs (including supporting structure) and drywall the entire area. They even helped solve the water problem that had caused the damage in the first place. They were very good about the small details and were happy to do additional modifications even when the job was underway that we had not foreseen. The great thing about Lupfer is that they have the skilled workers to do every aspect of a remodel: plumbing, electric, carpentry, drywall, etc. so that you don't have to find someone else to complete the job. Also, they use all the appropriate materials for the situation. Lastly, all work areas were left very clean, especially outside where all the cutting took place.

Excellent. Our neighbors were impressed that Dave & his crew showed up everyday right at 7:00 and were at the jobsite each and every day for the life of the project. Dave himself did a great job in understanding exactly what we needed and was good about explaining alternatives or why certain things (especially with the HVAC) had to be specific ways. He was accomodating & very helpful. His crew were likewise very polite and seemed to work very quickly and carefully. We were very happy with the results. The project came in on-budget and at the low end of the time estimate. Great work all around.

Pros: Quality craftsmanship. I was going to say quality "workmanship", but “craftsmanship” is a better description of their work. We have very nice finishes in our house and the quality of their carpentry, drywall, and other finishes were as good or better than the original work. I noticed the work is well organized and systematic. It is not a bunch of guys doing things individually. They try to minimize the construction mess when possible. For example, I had to ask the general contractor how they sanded the drywall because the house wasn’t covered in drywall dust like most repair jobs I have experienced. Fast. They were done in half the time I thought it would take. Fair pricing. I had received some bids that were 5 times higher from other contractors. As you know, living in the area that some contractors will just pick a number assuming that for some folks money is no object. Cons: None that I can think of. Except that it might be tough to get on their schedule depending upon what else they have going on. Summary: Remodeling is such a pain in the neck. You have things you want to do to improve your house or make it fit your lifestyle, but the hassle of dealing with remodeling makes you want to avoid it. So, it is a relief when you find someone you can trust to do the work properly at a fair price. We were so pleased with the job that we have schedule a much larger remodel.

I have used Dave and his crew twice to date. Both times they have come out and dont exactly what was asked, and did exactly what they said. They always show up on time, they are extremely polite and knowledgable. The first time I had them out was to help finish up and attic space I just could not seem to get done. That job was simple and took them about two full days. They put up drywall, patched and primed it, as well as some new wiring for a light switch and a ceiling fan. In total that cost abotu 1700. Right now they are adding in 8 outlets in my kitchen for a remodel, and from Dave's suggestion moving some ductwork so that the vent is no longer in the middle of the floor. These guys are a great and I would hire them for any project in my house.

They are a stand up company. They came out and gave a quote and I am not sure when I am ready to move forward with the work.

Had crumbling concrete front steps and porch that needed repair/replacement for some time--sought bids from several contractors. Had plans to redesign steps and porch into larger deck with railings/lattice using composite materials. Dave Lupfer seemed quite comfortable with design, working with these materials--he shopped around to find us best price on the materials. Separately, we were soliciting bids to replace aging roof--ended up working with subcontractor Dave brought who had best price and did great job in very timely manner (wanted this job done prior to porch remodel to prevent damage). Porch remodel then proceeded without problems--and also in timely manner. Decided to replace front concrete walk with pavers, used landscaper that Dave brought to us, who also did excellent, efficient work (showed up on weekend to do the job).

The experience was fine. We decided put the project on hold.

It turned out perfectly. Everyone was very professional. They cleaned up after themselves. They were polite and immaculate. The walls came out very well.

Lupfer responded the same day that I called for an estimate and started on the job as soon as possible. They completed the job promptly and with high quality. Protected my new kitchen cabinets and wood floors very well and even the garage floor.

I would definitely use Dave for future remodeling projects. Communication was good; the guys were punctual, polite, and responsive; they cleaned up as best they could at the end of each day's work; for the most part the work was precise and done right the first time (and the few times this wasn't true, the issues got corrected quickly); and things proceeded as efficiently as possible.

We decided to not go on with the project. He was very responsive both times and had a lot of ideas on what to do and what not to do. I suspect had we gone ahead with the project, we probably would have used him.

Their service was good. They did what they said they were going to do, and they did their work on time. They stayed within their quotes. Overall, they were very reliable and did quality work. They provided options for us to reduce the cost when their budget came in a little higher.

Dave responded promptly to our inquiry and gave us an estimate the next morning. We got three Angie's list estimates, and Dave's was very competitive. He and his crew were prompt, polite and efficient. They showed-up to work on time and completed the job in the time Dave estimated. We were very impressed with the final product, the garage looked like new. They kept the whole work area very clean so there wasn't any mess we had to deal with. Overall we were very impressed with Dave and his crew and would use them again for another job. Dave was very helpful and informative in the work he was hired to do, but also responded to other non-job related questions we had about other projects around the house.

Dave is very easy to work with. Everything went great. The guys were polite, and always on time. I would recommend them to anyone!

Dave and his team did a great job. They did what they said they would do. They worked quickly and were responsive to last minute changes. They arrived when they said they would each morning. I recommend Dave for your project and will use him for my next one.

It was time to redo our large 1960's basement. We wanted a bright, recreation room. We found Lupfer Bld through Angie's List. Dave Lupfer contacted me promptly, came out to see what we wanted, calculated a bid and sent it quickly. He gave us a start date and stuck to it. His men work hard, and they were careful going through the house, and polite. I provided detailed drawings of my own, which they clearly appreciated for lighting placement, room layout and such. The work was all solid and well done. The final product is real nice, we have a large play area, bright lighting, a separate TV room. He asked the right questions before making decisions without me when I'd miss a detail, like closet lighting with bare bulbs and pull strings or fixtures and switches, etc. All his men were sensible and thoughtful. He guarantees his work for a long while and will come back and service it if needed. All good experience.

AFTER RESEARCHING FOR CONTRACTORS ON ANGIE S LIST, WE HIRED LUPFER BUILDERS TO FINISH OUR VERY UNFINISHED BASEMENT. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. DAVE LUPFER SCOUTED THE BASEMENT, LISTENED TO OUR PLAN, AND HELPED CREATE A WONDERFUL NEW SPACE IN OUR HOME. OUR ORIGINAL PLAN CHANGED FOR THE BETTER AS WE BRAINSTORMING WITH DAVE ABOUT HOW TO MAKE THE SPACE WORK TO ITS FULLEST POTENTIAL. HE GAVE US A WRITTEN, ITEMIZED QUOTE, AND COMPLETELY STUCK TO IT. IT WAS HIGHER THAN WE WERE HOPING FOR, BUT WE WANTED QUALITY WORK, AND FELT WE WERE GOING TO GET OUR MONEYS WORTH WITH LUPFER BUILDERS. HE AND HIS STAFF WERE PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, AND DID GREAT WORK. THE JOB WAS COMPLETED IN A MATTER OF WEEKS. IT TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THAN WE TALKED ABOUT, BUT THEY FINISHED IN THE WINDOW WE REQUESTED, SO WE WOULD HAVE TIME TO PAINT. OUR BASEMENT LOOKS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PLACE NOW, AND WE HAVE ADDED TO THE LIVING SPACE IN OUR HOME. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND LUPFER BUILDERS.

THE QUALITY OF THE WORK IS EXCELLENT. DAVE IS EASY TO WORK WITH & CAN WORK WITHIN A BUDGET. HE REALLY KNOWS HIS BUSINESS. WHILE THEY WERE HERE, THEY ALSO DID SEVERAL OTHER SMALL BOTHERSOME REPAIRS THAT THEY SAW NEEDED DOING, WITHOUT ANYONE ASKING. WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

HAS GREAT EYE FOR SPACE AND STYLE TOO.
