J. D. came out and evaluated our bushes and shrubs. We were looking for someone to do some serious trimming and downsizing of our lilac and honeysuckle bushes. J. D. was professional, prompt, and extremely honest about the fact that their crew could not tackle the size of job we were asking for. Even though we did not use GCG, we will keep them in mind for future landscaping projects.

They were real friendly but were a little expensive.

jD came out a few times to meet with us and had drawings and photos offering different price points . We were very happy , he is a great guy and really wants to please his customers !!!

He was very nice, very accommodating, but he wasn't that knowledgeable about how to properly plant a tree.

JD was easy to work with, and quick to respond. He is great, would be happy to work with them again. I really appreciated the ideas that he had, and the work quality was also good. I can't wait to see my lawn in the spring!

I had an appointment scheduled and the owner called the same day to cancel due to being too busy with another project. He said he would email me some alternate appointment times but here we are 18 days later and I have not received an email with alternate days and times. My husband and I have since purchased and installed bushes ourselves.

J.D. was responsive, creative and helpful. He was understanding of our limitations (i.e., can barely keep ourselves alive much less plants) and had good ideas of how to accommodate that while creating a visually appealing space at a reasonable price. We ended up going with another service provider (it was a tough decision as both were nack-in-neck with their ideas and quotes) but will certainly call again should the need arise for landscaping assistance.

We first hired Green City Gardens to clean up the utter mess of weeds in our multiple, large flower beds and to remove one bed and replace it with sod. (We were in a new house and the yard had become completely overgrown while it was on the market the year before). J.D. came out, gave a very reasonable estimate ($1,200 or so) and did a great job with the cleanup. He also coordinated with the company that handles our irrigation system so they could relocate a couple of sprinkler heads in connection with the new sod. Everything went extremely well and we were very pleased. When done, the beds were weed free, the perennials had been regrouped and thinned, and everything was mulched. J.D. is very professional and easy to work with, and based on our initial good experience we asked him to do a landscaping plan for our side yard as well. He priced out various options for a small patio and installed a beautiful flagstone area that coordinated with our existing walkway. We had him complete the side yard this year and it is exactly what we wanted -- perennials, a small tree and shrubs that coordinated with the existing plants. J.D. is always responsive to questions, is never pushy and is reliable. I look forward to working with him and Green City Gardens again.

It was a great experience from the start when J.D. returned my initial phone call to the last email checking up on us. He has supplied us with drawings, power-point presentations, and complete watering instructions. It's been a great experience, and I will and have recommended Green City Gardens to anyone who needs landscaping services.

We had a WONDERFUL experience with JD and Green City Gardens. I wish that I knew how to upload the before and after pictures of our yard! They were both professional and competent throughout the process. JD guided us the entire time giving us his expert advice, but still allowed us to make decisions that we were comfortable with. His crew was also wonderful! I can not recommend them enough and we hope to use them next year to redo our front yard.

I will not be using them again after this project since they raised their fees. They didn?t inform me of the same. They gave me a quote for the landscaping, three weeks ago. It was higher than the quote that they gave me a year ago.

The owner JD sent me an email well in advance asking me what services I required. He followed up about a week before the work to confirm everything and ask if I wanted mulch as well. He arrived as promised and the yard looked great when complete.

Initially we contacted J.D. about the tree only. At the time, we weren't sure exactly what type we wanted to plant, and asked him for suggestions. He emailed us a great power point slide show featuring various options and basic info about each. My wife and I loved looking at the pictures, and it really helped to clarify our thoughts. We were very impressed with his willingness to go above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and with his enthusiasm. While he was looking at the site for our tree, I asked him to take a look at our front yard, which had a "natural landscape" bed that had become WAY too natural! J.D. gave us a very competitive estimate for clearing out and re-planning the bed, and again sent us another slide show with pictures of several plants that we just loved. We ended up hiring him to do the front bed, too, and he and his crew did an amazing job. They worked fast, had a great attitude, and ended up salvaging all kinds of plants from the plot, and found various other places to relocate them on our property. As a result, we didn't have to buy too many additional plants for the bed, and we got some nice unexpected beautification in other areas of our yard, as well. I think a lot of landscapers would've pushed hard for us to buy everything new, and to pitch anything decent they removed from such an overgrown area-- but J.D. really focused on utilizing our existing resources, and not wasting a plant. And the plants he did ultimately suggest and plant fit in perfectly. The yard looks great!

JD is possibly the single best contract vendor I've ever worked with. Exceptional professionalism, enthusiasm and eagerness to see a client happy rather than just satisfied. Great pricing and dedication. Always stayed in contact, returned calls promptly and was great at listening and responding to exactly what I wanted. Plus the guy's just plain nice and funny which doesn't hurt. I'll recommend him to anyone, anytime on any job.

The job went extremely well! J.D. and his crew were extremely professional and reliable. His expertise and help was a perfect fit for our budget and landscaping needs, and everything thrived throughout the summer thanks to his great work. The grass grew in beautifully, and the soaker hoses worked just as expected. There was one glitch with a timer that needed to be replaced due to moisture infiltrating the system, but J. D. was the person who noticed it and insisted on replacing it immediately. The remainder of the landscaping grew very well throughout the season, and we finally have a landscaping solution that will help keep our basics well watered and maintained throughout the hot summers without hiring a gardener to water. J.D. even called this fall to remind us to take out the timers and part of the hoses, so we could store them before the cold and frost hits this winter.

I never felt that the yard was no longer my own, or that I could not approach him with a suggestion or change. What he did was nothing short of miraculous.
