They were on time. They did the work from scratch as there was no insulation. They were very good and very knowledgeable. They told us about a rebate that was going on. We were able to get some money back from the rebate program. The upstairs is warm, so I think they've done a good job. I would probably use them again if we move to a different house or something.

Two workers came to my house on the appointment date a good 15-20 minutes before the appointment time. They explained what the procedure was and quickly went to work. They laid down a drop cloth, brought in their equipment. They put up the vents between the roof joists, and put the blow-in insulation into the attic. They then had me examine the finished work and also explained how they covered up the attic access. They were done within an hour.

The insulation we had was supposed to be an R-30 but it was disturbed in several places due to some work done in the attic. We wanted to improve this by adding insulation to bring it up to an R-49. The appointment was easy to schedule and Owen was punctual. He inspected our attic as well the ventilation and spent a great deal of time answering my questions on how to reduce ice dams. We found his proposal to be acceptable and the crew came out within 2 days to complete the job. They were very professional and did a great job. We are pleased with the work and the service provided.

The entire process was very easy. I had no problem scheduling for either the estimate or for the installation. The installation went smoothly. Very nice people to work with.

The American Insulation crew were promt and courteous and did a good job.

I emailed American Insulation in the evening, and the next morning around 10A I called them. Debbie Porter said she had my email and was just going to call me. I made an appt. for the estimator to come out 2 days later. He showed up on time and gave me a verbal estimate. I received the written estimate via email the next day. They called me and left a message that they would be in my neighborhood the following week. I called them on Monday and set up the appt. for Thursday at noon. The installers showed up early and it took them about an hour to do the job. They laid down tarps from the door to the area where the attic is located. My attic is in a difficult spot (above the basement stairs) being that this is a very old house built in the 1920's. They had no problem getting up there and doing the job. After removing the tarp, they cleaned up what little debris was on the floor. I have no problem recommending them.

They were very thorough. They were neat and kept the area tidy. The price was very good compared others.

We have a small house and it gets cold upstairs. We have an old attic fan that Owen suggested we get rid off, by closing the wall up. He came to the house right on time and was done giving me an estimate in 20 minutes. I know that they don't have weekend hours, but they worked with me on giving me an early appointment and I was able to still make it to work. Very accommodating. He even gave me other suggestions to seal up some issues in our main room in addition to the insulation quote. I got a written quote in the mail 2 days later. Owen explained the materials and any concerns I may have had with the blown in insulation (especially since we have a toddler) I then basically sat on this proposal. It was Debbie who emailed me to remind me about the proposal one day. The follow up was great because it had slipped my mind. They snuck me into their schedule on the drop of a dime. I was working from home on Thursday and the crew was in a neighboring village. They came in and were absolute professionals. Both guys did a great job explaining how the insulation was to get installed and how long it would take. They went above and beyond the call of duty. We were supposed to get 7 inches of blown in insulation to clean up the mess I made in the attic a few years back, I think they gave me ten. Further, they used some bat insulation to cover up the gaping hole I had from the attic fan, which helps tremendously. Now all I need to find is a painter who is as good as these guys to close off this attic fan... I'd use Owen again in a heartbeat. I recommended him to 2 neighbors on my block. You just don't run into professionals like this anymore. They answered every email in less than an hour. And with my work schedule and inability to even talk to someone on the phone, it was appreciated.

Owen Porter, the manager who came to do the estimate, listened to our concerns and looked at our situation carefully to advise us what needed to be done and why. His employees followed through on the planned work in a very professional polite manner. They were neat and careful working in our home and were very punctual coming as scheduled. They made sure I had a chance to survey their work in the attic when they completed it.

Owen was very helpful and friendly. He educated me on the process and gave me the options (e.g., I just asked for insulation, but he explained to me how Roof Vents function together with insulation to make it as efficient as possible.) In addition, he told me about a government rebate program that I would not have known about otherwise, which will get me $750 back for my work.

I was incredibly impressed by this company. Owen came out to look at our project and was honest and informative. I appreciate that he approached the project as a problem solver, even though the solution that he identified and provided us with didn't result in an immediate sale for him. He also explained that there are different types of insulation - and he told us the pros and cons of what he sells and what he could do, while explaining the benefits and drawbacks of other insulation types. This was incredibly refreshing, especially since the other company we had come out downplayed all other insulation types - and presented his product as the only thing needed to solve our problems. I recommend American Insulation as a company - and as soon as we are able to afford to "do the job right" (which is a way bigger project than just insulation) we'll be calling American Insulation.

Excellent job. Owen wouldn't even give me a quote for the area where there wasn't enough room to do any good. Another company would and did quote me, although they did say that there was little room, but they were willing to do it. Workmen were excellent! Brought all necessary items - plenty of drop clothes. But the best was the area was completely dust free when they left. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them.

It went fine. The men were on time, pleasant to deal with, did the job thoroughly (as far as I could tell), cleaned up after themselves, and were honest: They had to find out whether perforations in the eaves were open all the way through or whether they had to open them up at $30 a piece. They found that the eaves were open, saving me $180. They could have claimed otherwise, but didn't.

The team at American Insulation were professional and efficient from start to finish. I was able to get an in-home estimate quickly and they were even able to schedule work for the following day. They informed me about the existing insulation, explained the insulation that they recommended, as well as the cost and the current People's Gas rebate and tax credit. The installation was quick, only 1 hour 15 minutes total, and they left no mess. I have already recommended American Insulation to a friend. This is a great time to get insulation due to the federal tax credit and 75% rebate from People's Gas!

I did not go ahead with the project, for reasons that had nothing to do with the company.

They did a great job for a reasonable price. The price was excellent and everything that I read about them was true. I came home the day after they did it and I didn't even know that anybody had been there. They were the cheapest and I can't say anything wrong about them.

Owen came to the house to look at the areas to be insulated, which included the attic and an unheated basement area. He also looked around at other areas of the second floor to evaluate for cold air leakage as well. Owen was very helpful - he quickly evaluated the current state of insulation in the attic, but also noted other areas of the house that would NOT benefit from insulation but could benefit from doing little fixes to better seal off the areas from cold air leaking into the house. When the crew came to insulate the attic, it was done very quickly and efficiently. They arrived on time and were done in less than two hours. I have no clue as to the quality of how they blew the insulation into the attic - but I guess we'll know for sure if our heating bills go down....But overall, it was a very good experience working with American Insulation. In addition - the invoice they gave us was broken down in the exact detail necessary to be able to submit it for the energy rebate, so that was much appreciated.

Estimator and workmen were all great--very helpful and professional. They gave me a lot of useful information, did their work professionally, and cleaned up afterwards. AND, now my house is much warmer!

They came quickly to give me an estimate. The owner was great with the follow up and he sent the crew quickly to my house. They were clean and I think the work was good, as it still have not moved to the house.

We called them to add insulation to the attic to prevent ice damming in the winter. Owen saw that we had an air circulation problem, which we had suspected since a roofer mentioned it several years ago. He suggested the solution, which made sense to us. He also noticed the bathroom fan had been blowing air into the attic not outdoors. We appreciated his thoroughness. The workers were professional and competent.

Fantastic service. A great job at a reasonable price. Two things really stood out. First, there were a number of places where I thought that I needed insulation but Owen said it wouldn't be helpful - I really appreciated the honesty (and the dollar savings). Second, after Owen provided me a quote, there was a small area that I identified that did indeed need insulating. He did the extra work at no additional charge.

The Owner, Owen Porter, came to do an estimate on insulating our 1918 home. He spent a long time examining the hodge-podge of previous insulation attempts and proposed some creative solutions to improve the comfort of the home, both in winter and summer. The quote arrived the following day and, upon approval, the crew arrived the day after that. They were more than thorough, fairly prompt and very careful not to damage anything. They requested my approval where some modifications of the original plan were necessary. They thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. I was pleased with the company's willingness to do their best for our difficult situation.

We called. They came for bid. Insulated the attic. All good.
