Description of Work: Did a quick roof attic inspection from an issue I knew about from a home inspection I had done prior to purchase. Their professional gave me his expert opinion. He alleviated any concerns I had and told me that he didn't feel any additional work was necessary. I appreciated his honesty and professionalism. I'd gladly use them again if I had any insulation work to be performed.

Description of Work: American Insulation came to my home to look at my insulation needs and determine a quote to blow in insulation. I have recently had a new roof and ventilation system installed on my home. I was worried that my insulation would need to filled in and balanced because all the work completed on the roof and the fact that I now have under-eave ventilation. The gentleman from American Insulation went into my attic to take a look at what might be needed, such as adding attic baffles and blowing in more insulation. He indicated that everything looked good and there wasn't really a need to spend any money to address potential problems. I appreciated his honesty and his professionalism for not recommending work that was not needed.

Description of Work: Upon the recommendation of my painter, I called to make an appointment with Owen, the owner, to see if exterior main floor walls of my 1922 house could be insulated. Owen came promptly the next day to assess--there were about 4 inches of cold air space behind my walls. His men came the following day to do the work. They insulated the exterior walls in 3 rooms--one man drilled 2" diameter holes between studs and the other man followed with a hose connected to the truck blowing in the particle insulation until filled. He plugged the hole with a styrofoam disc which was later patched with a bonding agent. They took up their drop cloths and vacuumed everything. They were very efficient--they were in and out of my house in about 1 1/2 hrs. I noticed a cold spot in one of the rooms so Owen came back to assess (did not charge for the redo) and gave me a price on a space under my roof line and 2 other rooms. His men came back on Mon. and finished the job. Again they were in and out of my house in about 1 1/2 hrs. I definitely can feel a difference in the comfort of my rooms and am looking forward to getting my gas bill-for once. I highly recommend doing this in your old house and I recommend using American Insulation--they were great. My painter was able to perfect the patching and continue painting.

Description of Work: This company does not provide estimates after 5:00 pm and on weekends. That is not very accomodating of working parents. To have to take a day off for a 15-20 minute estimate is ridiculous and I would certainly go elsewhere for my quote.

He gave me blunt and honest information, which will end up saving me thousands. On top of everything, he does not service my area, but still gave me the time of day and answered lots of questions.

IN THE END, WE DECIDED AGAINST IT BUT I APPRECIATED HIS RESPONSIVENESS.
