We were very disappointed in the quality of the deck project that was completed for us. The replacement of the rotted boards and slates was good, thankfully. The same can't be said for the paint prep work nor for the actual staining of the deck. These are the issues we had with the work: 1. The previous paint wasn't stripped or sanded to provide a smooth surface for the new stain, so you can see and feel the uneven surface.. 2. The edges of the new boards weren't sanded smooth which means they are a hazard for cuts and scrapes when we use the deck. 3. The application of the stain left drips and was too thinly applied where it needs another coat. We paid the entire amount for a very poorly executed job that we are now in the process of correcting, so we are out additional time and money. We chose not to request correction of these issues because we now question their ability to judge the quality and acceptable completion of the job.

Dave had me send him pictures of the area that needed replacing. He still came out to examine it in person. He sent me an estimate, and I indicated that we would like to be put on his schedule. Dave was here the following week with his associate, and the work was done very quickly. His price included all materials except the paint. We were very pleased with the work, and we had him look at other projects before he left.

Dave came over and gave me a quote on Wednesday, returned on Monday on time, He came with the counter top that we talked about. I was so impressed on how it turned out. He did everything that we talked about and he did it all in the same day. Dave is very professional! We talked about some other things that need to be fixed. I will definitely call Dave back to any work I need done!

When you need a "Handyman" Dave of Fox Valley Handyman Services is your man. I called and told him I had problems per an inspection report. He said he would stop by that evening. He finished his present job earlier than expected and came right over. Seeing that either he or I had the necessary tools for the various tasks, he jumped right in and fixed what was on my list. He scraped, primed and repainted the garage door trim. resolved issues with bathroom sinks leaking, and resolved issues with the attic fan flaps sticking. The items on the list were probably smaller jobs than others he had done in the past, but I did appreciated his eagerness and dedication in resolving them..

My house had a bathroom fan that was venting into the attic, instead of directly outside. David installed a roof vent and new flexible ducting for the fan. The work was done quickly, professionally and is of high quality. I would not hesitate to use Fox Valley Handyman Services again and recommend them highly.
