Company was recommended to me by CHI as one of their fully certified installers in the western suburbs. A quick check on Angies List gave me little reason to search much further for a reliable firm to replace my 37 year old garage door. Matt handled all of my many questions regarding the CHI product line and helped me narrow down the options. A visit to the North Aurora showroom was also helpful in being able to finalize a few of the more difficult choices. Custom factory ordering for my steel, insulated, wood grain door was handled without any issues and was corrdinated well with the installation activity. I couldn't have asked for a better or more professional installer than Al! He answered ever question I had (there were many), and the installation of my door could not have come out any better! AV Overhead was indeed a pleasure to deal with from start to final installation and I feel I got a very good value on a higher end product that has already caught the eye of many of my neighbors!

The technician was skilled and knowledgeable and answered my questions as he worked. I would call them again if I needed any garage door work, and I would highly recommend them!

I spoke with Matt on the phone to arrange the appointment. He was very nice and professional. He shared that they were running a new summer tune-up special for $69, a pleasant surprise. James, the technician, arrived at our home and was very nice and professional. He was able to thoroughly check over both of our garage doors. He was able to confirm the spring tension was good, the rails and rollers were in good shape. He also reviewed the door sensors as well as bolts and and brackets. He lubricated the roller wheels and rails and gave our garage doors an overall clean bill of health. Great experience! Thanks James and Matt! Will definitely work with you again in the future!

I called AV because they installed my garage door last year - I purchased it used from a garage sale site. It was a door they had installed initially and the homeowners recommended them. Dan Gibson came out, installed this new door for us and was so personal and professional - when I wanted to have it checked out and tuned up for the winter, AND get a new opener -I called them back. Dan happend to come out again, remembered the install and then did a great, great job installing a NEW garage door opener. I told him he was the reason I had called them back in the first place, because of how nice he was the first time. There was another company offering a better deal on the services, but I stayed with AV because of the service I received and I was not disappointed. Matt was super helpful on the phone in helping me make a decision and very patient with me! Just nice people doing a good job. Price is not everything, but even in that they did do everything they could to help me stay within my budget. I probably won't need a garage door anytime soon but I will recommend them to any friends that do. Well done AV, well done!

Dan was the employee provider sent. He was very polite, professional, knowledgeable and did a great job. Very satisfied with his work. And, when first calling the company, they were also polite, professional, helpful and assured me employee would make sure my garage door and home would be secured that day.

Garage door wouldn't stay closed. It would roll all the way down, touch the ground, then come right back up. The technician, who coincidentally happened to be a neighbor from down the block, adjusted the chain tension and the electric eye that senses obstructions. He was very nice and, when it started happening again a week later, stopped by and re-adjusted it for no charge. It has worked perfectly for more than a year now.

He was on time, polite, worked quickly and fixed a small problem he discovered. When he saw the missing wheels, he showed me where it was and explained that this is a common repair. It was done in about an hour.

Our garage door stopped working. We called AV Overhead Garage Services. They arrived very fast the same day, about an hour from the time we called. They quickly determined the spring was broken. They replaced the spring and re-balanced the garage door. We are very pleased with the professional services and quick response. Overall a great experience! Motor on garage door wasn't working, making grinding noise. They came out in the time window they promised and went right to work fixing the problem. They had to go get the correct part, but came back right away and got the gear kit replaced, and the door in working order again. James, who did the work, couldn't have been nicer and answered any questions I had. I would definitely use them again!

He said I had some of the best garage doors made and that all rails and rollers were in excellent condition even though they were over 60 years old. Said I'll most likely have to change a couple of openers down the road, but run them until they die.

Very prompt service - showed up right when they said they would. Service technician was very courteous and friend, competent at what he needed to do and went about his work. It was a very old garage door opener, so I assumed whomever we called would try to sell us a new one - was most pleased when he said it could be repaired. He didn't do -- or want to do -- anything that wasn't necessary. The garage door and opener now work like they were brand new!

Replaced the spring on my garage door with these guys. They recommended roller replacements and inspected my other garage door as well. Very fast and courteous technician. Prices were as low as anywhere else I researched. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Quick response, on time, professional. They installed a new garage door for us in November 2010 and it was a very good experience after having had someone else here who damaged our old door.....so of course I called them when the opener seemed to be acting up. I was told off the bat (over the phone, based on my description, possibly replacement of certain parts) how much repairs/service could be versus a new opener. It's very nice and unusual to be informed up front like this. The service rep easily could have sold me parts I didn't need or a new opener - but he didn't. He adjusted the parts, which reduced the noise, and explained that they are operationally fine and that it's not worth doing anything until the unit dies and the whole thing (over 13 years old) needs to be replaced. It's too bad that there aren't more companies that operate this way. When my opener dies I will be calling them for replacement.

Serviceman arrived on time as promised for emergency service. Replaced both overhead door springs. Found a frayed cable and replaced both of those also. Professional, well trained serviceman. Door works great.

Came out quickly when our garage stopped opening. Diagnosed the problem; repaired on the spot. They have a 1 hour minimum for service visits and the repair only took ~40 minutes so he recommended some other work that could be done still within the 1 hour. Very quiet door with the new rollers!

Everything went great. Matt came on time and was very professional and knowledgable. He didn't have the part we needed so he drove back to their office to get the part and came right back to install it. He reprogrammed our remotes and even changed the batteries for me. I was very happy with the service and would definitely recommend them in the future.

They provided a 2-hour service window and called 90 minutes into it to let me know the service provider was on the way and would be there near the end of the window. This was appreciated and he arrived on time. When inspecting the door, it was noticed that the piece of wood above the door, that the door opener track is mounted to, was pulling away from the wall. It cracked when he tried to nail it back in. He cut a piece of wood that I had and replaced the broken piece and remounted the opener track, all at no extra charge. He pointed out that he could replace the metal rollers with quieter nylon rollers while he was here for cheaper than another service call if they failed, but it was not a hard sell. In fact, he stated that it was not a necessity at this time. I chose not to have them replaced and he accepted the decision with no problems. He was pleasant, polite and professional.

I found AV Overhead Garage Door on Angie's List. They were highly recommended. I called on a Thursday, talked to Adam and set the next day as the installment date. He worked with my schedule to set a time convenient for me. The installer arrived promptly and set to work installing everything. This was a new installation as I did not previously have an opener. He finished in less than 2 hours, answered all my questions and cleaned up all packaging materials. I would definately use this company again and recommend them to anyone. It was a good experience!

We needed emergency service on a Sunday when a cable broke and our garage door would not close. I called and talked to Adam. He was great--explained everything very well and was very friendly. Within 1 1/2 hours we had someone at our house (sorry I did not catch his name but he was great also). He fixed it promptly and professionally and I will definitely call them the next time I need service.

Cable on double garage door snapped last night. Door was lopsided and jammed. Called AV Overhead this morning and left a voice message. Adam called back within 30 minutes. I told him what the problem was and he said he would have a technician here between 10:00am-12:00pm. Matt arrived at 9:30. He reviewd the situation and said he had what was needed on truck to fix the door. Matt was very professional and experienced. Door fixed within an hour. Was able to save one of the tracks that was damaged rather than selling me a new one. Service went so well, I had Matt replace the ball bearing rollers on my second garage door. Excellent overall experience from Adam in dispatch and Matt the technician. Would definitely recommend and I will use them again. I will also have them install a new garage door opener with a battery backup since we loose power quiet often.
