Jakubek Inc Remodeling

I hired Jakubek to remodel my master bathroom and my experience with them was amazing. I worked with Dawid, who was patient, accommodating, and communicative along what turned out to be (due to my own actions) a very long design process. At the end, I have an awesome and beautiful bathroom. I had Jakubek out to look at my bathroom and give a quote. Between that date and the start date, I realized I am not even close to a designer, so I hired interior designers to help me. The plans the designers and I came up with were radically different than what I had explained to Dawid at the start and required us to completely re-quote the project, push the start date, and required Jakubek to coordinate with other contractors who were going to be doing some specialty work in the bathroom as part of the project. Despite how high-maintenance I was, Dawid was helpful, always ready to hop on the phone with my designers to discuss the details that I have no sense of, and always acted like my high-maintenance needs were no problem. And now my bathroom is absolutely gorgeous and looks exactly how I wanted. Impeccably done. Bottom line: Hire these guys.

Jakubek proved to be an honest and reliable contractor that performs quality work. They did a complete remodel of the first floor in my house that included 1) Gutting and a complete remodel of the kitchen, half bath and laundry rooms (3 full slabs of stone were used as counter tops and back splashes). 2) Installing 1,300 square feet of oak flooring (they used over 3,000 screws to secure the underlayment and eliminate squeaking). Their bid was a fair price and lower than many other contractors who quoted the project. The only cost adjustments were for unanticipated issues and changes I made to the original quote and the amounts were reasonable. Robert, David and their crew paid close attention to detail and performed the job as if they were working in their own homes. They were very flexible and adaptable when issues came up (such as unexpected pipes in the wall) and very helpful in offering suggestions and implementing solutions. Since I wanted to be closely involved in decisions, they included me in all appropriate areas, and I felt like I had input and was listened to. They cleaned up daily and took precautions to protect areas from damage. Once they started the project, they stayed on it, and I felt like I was their most important client. While they did do work on other projects, it never delayed my project and they always had someone on site keeping my project progressing. David coordinated all materials and subcontractors to ensure everything arrived on time. They used excellent subcontractors for the hardwood flooring and countertop installations and monitored their work to make sure the finished project was up to Jakubek high standards. David also made design suggestions and recommended suppliers that had high quality products and better pricing than others I considered using. Jakubek was the first contractor where I never had a dispute, where I felt the entire project was done properly and where I was highly satisfied with the finished project. Therefore, I would highly recommend Jakubek to friends. In fact, I have already recommended them to 4 good friends who saw my remodel and wanted the name of my contractor for projects they are planning. I was so happy with their performance and attention to detail that I asked them to come back and proactively replace my 18-year-old water heater and a failing sump pump. Their work was very professional and they were less expensive than other alternatives for replacing these items.

The team here was amazing to work with. They were super helpful in getting any supplies and great at explaining why they were doing something a certain way. I highly recommend them and I will be working with them again soon.

If you are looking for a conscientious contractor that is honest, reliable, competent, and experienced, go with Jakubek, Inc. We remodeled the bathroom in our condo and they did a great job, everything we expected and more. They took care to protect our floors and contain the dust, and they cleaned up at the end. They were responsive to following the rules of the condo building and getting appropriate permits. David was easy to work with and was a wealth of practical information as far as making decisions about products and design. He works with his father, and everyone on the team were good workers with an attention to details. Tom, the tiler, was pleasant to have around, and took pride in his work. Paperwork was accurate and professional. Communication was prompt and timely. I felt like we were in good hands throughout the project. We were referred to them by a neighbor who also had a good experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for our next project. I highly recommend them.

They were professional, great attention to detail and highly qualified technicians. They are a local family owned and operated company. The owner came each day to see that the work is done properly. The crew was highly talented. I am extremely happy with the finished product.

Amazing is the first word that comes to mind! We had just the best experience with Jakubek Inc! We decided to remodel two of our bathrooms when he had tile fall in one of our showers. Just days before our project was supposed to start in May 2023 I had to cancel the project as we found out my husband was sick. David was so understanding and compassionate. We ended up resuming the bathrooms in Nov 2023. David communicated with us every step of the way and always checked with us when if something was going to change. I couldn’t believe our bathrooms were done in the two week timeline that we were told. Heck, David was even at our house for the inspection two days after his baby was born! They are truly a pleasure to work with and their work is fantastic. I would recommend Jakubek Inc to everyone (and have to my personal friends and family)!

Jakubek Inc did a dining room/kitchen remodel for us in July 2023, and I can not recommend them enough! Doing any type of construction in your home is always nerve racking. From the first phone call until the job as complete, Jakubek was professional, honest and reliable. David did an incredible job of communicating, and they got the job done in the exact time frame he predicted. They asked questions along the way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, and everyone who worked on the job was kind and courteous. Like many people, we've had a bad experience with a contractor. So when it was time to hire a company to redo our bathroom, we were a little hesitant. We met with several companies, and Jakubek Inc. seemed far and away the most friendly and professional. We signed a contract with them and never looked back. Dawid and his team did not disappoint. They were efficient, made great recommendations when I needed them, and did not seem bothered at all when I had questions. Once the project started, their communication was regular, and they always made sure to check with us if they had any questions or concerns. I could not recommend them more and look forward to finding another project to work with them on.

We hired Jakubek Remodeling to remodel our condo bathroom and they were awesome from the start. Dawid quickly set up a consultation, and we were planning within a week. He explained everything we would need and provided advice for all of the items we chose. Dawid, Robert and their crew were excellent. They laid protective covering over our floors, and blocked off the work area using plastic curtains. Dawid explained the work and timeframe every step of the way, and at the end of the day left us with a fantastic new bathroom. When an issue with a piece of hardware we purchased arose, they handled it quickly On the final day, they even cleaned up the surrounding area and hauled away the boxes and packaging of all of the hardware. Although this was our first remodel, I work for a developer who builds and Luxury apartment communities across the country. I've been on more construction sites than I can count and have never met better than Jakubek. We'll certainly call them again.

Super experience working with Jakubek remodeling. They went above and beyond! I ordered a new shower enclosure that weighed 150 pounds. Even though it arrived weeks before the project started, Jakubek met the delivery truck with me, checked that the glass wasn't broken, and carried it up to my condo - a huge help for me. My project was upgrades to both bathrooms. Jakubek followed through on every promise. They completed all the work in a week, checking in every day on progress. The work is beautiful and they cleaned up carefully when the job was done. Highly recommend!

We met with several local contractors here in Lincoln Park Chicago for a bathroom remodel in our high-rise condo. After meeting with Jakubek, we knew we found our contractor and needed to look no further. During their visit to our property to evaluate the project we immediately felt their honesty and we could tell they understood exactly what we wanted to accomplish. When we received their estimate and scope of work, they captured every single detail, itemized in line items. They also provided separate line items for optional pricing on things that we wanted to consider but were not sure we wanted to do or not do. For example, replace our bath tub or keep the one we had. In addition to all that, their quote was the lowest of all their competitors and their timeline for construction was the shortest as well! We signed our contract and scheduled the project. Sadly shortly after, and through unforeseen circumstances on MY part, I had to cancel the project. Jackubek understood my situation was unavoidable and immediately offered to refund our full deposit which they did. This family owned business was by far the most professional detailed, honest and caring company we could have ever found. We highly highly recommend them to anyone as we will recommend them to all of our friends and family looking to remodel any type of project. I love this company. We have used them to basically remodel our whole house. They have re-done my kids bathroom, from heated floors, lighting, drywall, electrical, plumbing, subway tiles installed in a herringbone pattern and exhaust fan. It’s simply beautiful. They have also added recessed lighting throughout my house. The biggest job we had them do was to install new white oak hardwood floors throughout the house. They even re-did our stairs, railing and banisters. They also replaced all of my basement ceiling tiles and added recessed lighting there too. I was getting a new TV installed and Jakubek, inc added an outlet for me so that my TV can be installed without having any wires showing. There is nothing they cannot do and there is no one else I would trust in my home. Trust me, a good contractor is hard to find, these guys will be the only contractor you’ll ever need. Most recently Jakubek, INC just remodeled our master bathroom. They did a tremendous job just like everything else they have done for us. From heated floors, to custom shower doors, the remodel was phenomenal

We worked with Jakubek to replace our front porch and fence. The quality workmanship is outstanding. They were on time to meet and work during the times they provided.

Jakubek was wonderful! We hired them to renovate our basement. They quoted us a fair price, listened to what we wanted and did an excellent job. They actually finished ahead of schedule! We were thrilled! We are so happy with the work they did and are happy to recommend them. They are professional, friendly, and reliable.

It was a pleasure to work with David and Robert on the waterproofing and flooring of our basement. They were incredibly knowledgable and very clearly defined for us what would need to be done and how the process would go. Working with contractors can be a challenge but David was fantastic and I will definitely be going back to Jakubek for all our future work.

We were recommended Jakubek from a friend (who is meticulous and and has quite a bit of construction experience) and we’re so pleased with our interactions with them from start to finish. When meeting for an estimate they were a pleasure to work with and you can tell they know they’re stuff. We are having a baby and ended up doing a much smaller project than planned but they were still willing to squeeze in a couple kitchen updates for us (backsplash, new sink and garbage disposal) and they did a great job and finished quickly, leaving our house in great shape. I would recommend them to anyone and look forward to using them for future projects in our home!

They were on time, proactive, professional, and finished within the 2 1/2 weeks estimate (a little early actually!). They made excellent professional judgement decisions but also asked for confirmation if something was a "this or that" scenario. We found some not so great hidden surprises from the previous owners once demolition started but the Jakubek team took care of them in stride. We don't have a huge space (in a high rise), we were living here during the construction and work from home - the team did their best to try to keep things clean and as organized as possible so it was less disruptive for us each day. Things look and feel wonderful! Really great guys!

The crew was very professional and involved us in all aspects of our bathroom remodel. The quality of the work was excellent and the results were just what we were looking for. Based on the quality of the work that they did, we expanded the scope of the project to include several other smaller efforts.
