Unprofessional due to not showing up when they say they will. On first appointment they said my wires were crossed & they would come back at end of week to try and fix. End of week I called. Dawn their receptionist seem to know nothing about a call back. Dawn scheduled another appt for end of following week at noon. At 3 called to see if I had mixed up days. Was informed that the service man had clocked into my house at noon. Since I'd never left my home all day that was impossible & told her so. She again said that her computer said he checked in at my home at noon. She finally kind of apologized & wanted to make another appointment for the following day. Just did not feel right about trying for another appointment and wondered if the person would even do a decent job of sprinkler repair considering his no shows.

They are unprofessional, rude don't like to do his job. Very defensive why he doesn't want to do the job that day

I hired carefree to install a sprinkler system for my entire yard. I had seed planted in my back yard. Carefree ran a tractor through my backyard and destroyed my lawn. Not only did carefree destroy my lawn they destroyed our leveled ground. When I confronted carefree about this matter, they stated it was the weeds that caused the damages ( see text). The lawn was damaged during installation and was promised that they will restore to its original state. They have been unable to do that.

We have used Carefree for a decade or two to install and maintain our lawn sprinkler system. Always friendly, professional service with knowledgeable employees!

We have a couple of our sprinkler heads that don't go down like they stay up after being used. They didn't do anything to address that or notify us that there was something wrong, and so we noticed it obviously after the fact, so I would say that had they let us know about that, there could have been a repair they could have done, but they didn't. They were here when we needed them. They were on time. For a standard service, they provide standard service. I don't think anything was outstanding.

Everything was fine. Team of workers showed up on time, completed work in one day and at end of installation, Nick came out and explained the programming of the system to me and set up the app on my smartphone for quick and easy access.

It went well. They give you a window of time in which the tech will come out. They have always come within the timeframe specified and the guys have always been very polite. I had no clue about sprinklers so when the tech told me to turn the water valve on, I didn't immediately notice that water was spewing all over my basement from a pipe in the unfinished ceiling. It was a mess and a mystery as to how this happened. The tech was very nice and made suggestions on what we would need to do/how they could get everything up and running. They had a plumber come out and run additional copper pipe, then some other techs came out and talked to me about what they could do to get the timer working. Everyone from Carefree explained the options and what would be involved (ripping up drywall a relative installed to reconnect the timer or finding another power source and installing a timer in a different location). They were polite and honest about the possible options.

The job went great. We did have a small issue with the cable line being cut, but that was the fault of the comcast people not marking the line correctly. Carefree worked with me to actually get that fixed in a timely fashion. The system has worked great and Carefree has come out to make necessary adjustments. Couldn't be happier.

The installation and services provided were outstanding,field supervisor Nick was a pleasure to work with,explained all details of job ahead of time and any questions we had were answered. I would definitely recommend and use this company for all future maintenance and work.

I have been a customer for several years and have found Carefree to be responsive to my watering needs.

It has always worked well, and any wear and tear of the system, changing of sprinkler heads, etc. has always been taken care of promptly and professionally. They turn the sprinkler system on in the spring, "blow it out" in the fall, and are available for maintenance throughout the spring-summer-fall seasons. They are helpful on the phone, and the service people that come out are knowledgeable and professional. We would HIGHLY recommend Carefree Lawn Sprinklers!

We were satisfied with Carefree and used them for 10 years. We have moved and no longer have a sprinkler system

We lost several plants due to insufficient watering the second year even though they came out multiple times to make adjustments, charging additional fees each time. They even charged a fee when we called with a simple question because no one in the office is allowed to answer questions. We spent over $1600 to make adjustments to a relatively new system and it still doesn't work properly. The field supervisor's response was that we didn't want to spend more money to set it up "optimally". Additionally, their billing often had errors and they took months to fix them because of high office turnover. We made the mistake of prepaying $299 for summer season mosquito spray. They only provided the service one time even though we paid for three applications and guaranteed re-do's (none provided)

Requested and received an estimated proposal for this work within 1 week of my original request. Proposal was clear and concise and after a clarifying a few items (electrician required for work?= no, do I need to submit the permit for work with the City?= no) the work was scheduled. Naperville requires a permit for irrigation system installation and Carefree took care of almost everything. The only thing required of me was an ALTA (boundary) survey and a signature on the permit application. The ladies in the Carefree office handled all of this quickly and painlessly. Everything but the signed documentation was available via electronically (email). On the day of installation, the licensed plumber came to install the RPZ and irrigation controller prior to site crew. Water tap was installed in the basement at a water location near the RPZ. Note: the RPZ is installed on the exterior of the house and removed as part of Winterizing the system. I chose to have the controller installed in the basement close to the water / RPZ. The controller can also be located in the garage or anywhere the Owner chooses. Site crew showed up around noon as the plumber was finishing his scope of work. Final layout was reviewed with their project manager, Pat, and minor adjustments made. All the irrigation lines were installed with a knife trencher (very clean cut) and direct bores under sidewalks. The crew took the time to hand-dig locations not spotted by JULIE (roof downspouts, ejector pump drain, etc) prior to starting. Irrigation heads were then installed and adjusted. I was instructed on setting the controller and other details of the system. All written instructions with the equipment was left for my perusal. All work (Plumber and Site) was completed within ~10 hours. Great job, guys!

The technician was very friendly and explained the entire process as he diagnosed the problem. Once the problem was identified, Carefree repaired the parts on site and checked the rest of the sprinkler system to make sure the rest was properly working. Even after the repairs were completed the technician helped me set up a new program for my sprinkler system and explained how my Hunter sprinkler system worked. Overall, I was very impressed with Carefree and will continue to use again in the future.

Carefree came out to replace two sprinkler heads. They were very easy to work with and quite responsive. They showed up early and I wasn't home but I received a phone call and they were able to start the work right away. They do charge a "show-up" fee but it was reasonable when you factor in the cost of the replacement heads. Nice job!

Tito did a great job. He fixed everything that needed to be fixed in timely manor.

Very prompt and professional. Came and gave and estimate when they said they would be here. Installed when they said they would be here. Made a few adjustments to sprinklers when called.
