 + -1 moreI called the office three times over a two week period, and knowing that the timing was close to the holidays I did not expect a call back that same day. After the second message left at the office, a person called me back and we set up an appointement to view the window leaks I have. The appointment came and went and no one showed up to inspect. I called the office a third time to tell them about the missed appointment and I've heard nothing from them in two weeks. That is not the way to treat a potential customer with a problem.
Description of Work: Promised to come view the situation and never showed, never called saying they weren't showing up.

 + -1 moreJim at Watertight Exteriors handled the job from sales to installation. I liked that - No "disappearing Salesman" after the contract was signed. Ran into some issues when the siding came off (nothing to do with Watertight Exteriors), in particular how the windows were wrapped when I replaced them 4-years ago, but I was happy with the resolution that Jim provided. Jim is very quality-conscious and made sure that the job was done correctly. We're very happy with Jim, Watertight Exteriors, and our new siding.
Description of Work: Removed 30-year old cedar siding; Replaced with vinyl siding; Recapped 15 windows

Description of Work: Mike is very knowledgeable and was quick to come out in January when we had damage due to an ice dam. He followed through with our insurance company and helped negotiate a claim. He and his workers did a nice job in replacing our roof this summer. My only complaint is that he did not return in a timely fashion to finish the coating of the flat roof portion. He told me it required two days with no rain in the forecast, and time went by. When I emailed that we would be going out of town he sent another worker to do the coating right away even though it rained, as predicted, the following morning. I think they were in a rush to finish the job and get paid since they requested payment that day. Also, they did not replace the TV antennae wire on the flat roof when they finished the job. I asked that Mike return to check the coating and replace the wire but never heard from him. My husband finally climbed on the roof to replace the wire, which was not easy for him.

 + -1 moreWhen they finally returned my call 25 hours later, we set an appointment for two days later (the earliest they could come). The tech no showed, did not call to cancel or reschedude. I called the following day and no one returned my call. Just awful!

 + -1 moreI noticed a small amount of moisture in the corner of an upstairs bathroom right where a gutter downspout was on the outside. I called Watertight Exteriors because they had helped me with a small problem with a leak in my attached garage roof a few years ago. They luckily had an opening to come that day. (We had had a severe snowfall.) They came and assessed the situation. They scraped all of the deep snow off 2 sections of the roof where the gutters converge with a downspout. It solved my problem! I would use them again!

 + 0 moreGreat! Problem with one window which was not their fault, but was a problem in the manufacturing. They worked with Alside to get it fixed under warranty. We will get bids from them when it's time for new gutters. They have come back and done roof inspections after rough weather and have never tried to scare us into any roof repairs.
Description of Work: Installed six Alside Swing & Clean vinyl Energy Star windows, Alside vinyl Energy Star sliding glass door, a skylight, Alside vinyl siding over the whole house (about 2500 ft exterior) removed and replaced the entire drywall ceiling in the room where one of the old metal windows had leaked.

 + -1 moreDue to the fact that the firm is highly experienced in commercial installations of membrane flat roof systems, I decided to go with a firm that had more residential experience. This is because my neighbors' roofs are tangent to mine and they are out of warranty. If I had a free-standing home, I would not hesitate in hiring Watertight Exteriors, who are also authorized installers for the membrane roofing system.
Description of Work: This is a highly professional, honest, and experienced company in flat roof installations.

Description of Work: We had a leak in our attached garage. We called Watertight Exteriors, Ted Tracy (on a friends suggestion). Ted and Dave came out to repair the leak. They recommended, due to the age of the roof and the water damage already caused, that the roof, whole house, be replaced. The leak was temporarily repaired, no fruther leaking in that spot. We called them back out 2 months later for the entire roof to be replaced. The work was done quickly and so far, we have had no problems/leaks. The men were friendly and neat enough.

 + 0 moreI did not use Watertight Exteriors for my project because from start to finish during the estimation phase the salesperson was not punctual.
Description of Work: I requested & received an estimate for a roof tear-off & new vinyl siding. It took a couple days before I heard from a salesperson to schedule an estimate. The salesperson that showed was late. For our second scheduled meeting he was a no show & I decided to give them a second shot after relaying my concerns to the owner via an e-mail. The estimate was in line with others I received, so price was not a factor in my not using them. The company I chose was Opal Enterprises, Inc. because they offered Good, Better & Best solutions for my roofing & siding projects. Opal Enterprises did a fantastic job for me & I would use them again. Their proposal was still under what was allotted for by my insurance claim (the total they did not know) and they used a Lifetime WarrantyTimberline Cool Series roof which will save me energy costs...a solution that none of the other contractors even mentioned to me as an option. The siding used by Opal Enterprises was CertainTeed Monogram Series siding in a premium color blend. I received better products that other contractors were offering. The contractor I used was certified by manufacturers for all products used & when I contacted the manufacturers they were in good standing. I did not check into Watertight exteriors that far because I had already decided not to use them.

 + -1 moreGenerally, it went very well. The sales person (Mark) was available quickly and showed up on time. Once I was ready to order the company reacted fast. The point of contact (Mike) was very responsive and helpful. The work team showed up exactly when expected and did an excellent job - as far as I can tell anyway. The installation seems flawless, and caulking where needed was done very professionally. Downsides:- I originally received a quote on June 30, 2008, good for 30 days. When I called in late August to order the work done the price had jumped exactly 20%, to the dollar. No explanation was given for the substantial jump. This made the price go from "good" to slightly more than some other companies. - Some metal scraps were left in our yard after the work was done. These scraps, often little more than shavings, should not have been left behind. There were not many though, and they were not large. I consider it a minor detraction compared to the overall high-quality of installation. Note: I ordered this in early October, which is probably late in the season. They may have had more time to work, or fewer job demands allowing for such prompt service.
Description of Work: Installation of aluminum soffit and fascia around entire house (built 1977), replacing original wood. Additional aluminum wrap around garage door(approx 3" wide strip).
