Thomas recently repaired, cleaned, and preserved my cedar shake roof. He and his team were efficient and professional, and my roof has never looked better. I'm very glad I went with them; 5/5 recommend.

After Tom completed the job, I called him back because of poor workmanship. I had another contractor out to stain the new cedar shakes, and he commented on the sloppy job. I requested that Tom return to fix the following: 1) exposed nails, 2) wide gaps between some shakes, exposing the tar paper, 3) a curled shingle, 4) uneven width in the gap between shingles and siding, 4) an unsightly big glob of caulk at the corner where the water shoots off the roof. Tom was responsive, though displeased that I called his workmanship into question. He returned on November 18, 2014, spending 2 hours in order to make the job right. On November 14, 2015, the master bathroom and closets were demoed to begin remodeling. A day or two later, it rained hard and water poured through the wall where my husband's closet had experienced mold on the drywall. Quite a bit of mold was visible on the studs too. The water had to be rerouted with a hose in order to prevent another deluge. I immediately called Tom and described the problem. He said he was out of town (Boston, he said) tending to a family issue and would not be back to Illinois for another two weeks. He would call me and come out to take a look at that time. Clearly, that response was unacceptable. I requested that he send his partner to tend to the problem. Tom said he had a bad year, and no longer has a partner. I asked was he still in business and he indicated that he was. It is now December 17th, and Tom has NOT called me back. Another roofer has redone the entire area of the roof a second time, to prevent further water damage. Tom had cut corners, installing small pieces of flashing instead of one large piece, and the soldered areas did not hold. Tom has proven himself to be slipshod and lacking integrity because he did not stand behind his work. I am angry and disgusted that he took advantage of us. We are senior citizens on a fixed income. No one deserves this treatment.

Tom called me back the same day I called him to ask for a bid. He was at our house when he said he would be there. Long story short, Tom recommended that we replace the roof. The repairs for the three known problems would be in the $6K to $7K range. However, the remainder of the roof is in bad shape. Tom does not do Roof replacements. He could have told me to do the fixes (knowing I would spend the $6K with him) and then get dinged on the home inspection latter on the rest of the roof. By the way, Tom did not “push” me to any of his associates so I know he will not be getting a finder’s fee. Summary: If you need a roof repair, Tom’s your guy. He is professional, knowledgeable and most important, he is honest!

Tom had previously SAVED our Cedar shake roof with his restorative oil product application. Other roofers told us we had to put on a new roof. His service saved us about $35.000. Tom Hamilton is not only an extremely nice and trustworthy person but he is also very knowledgable on taking care of Cedar shake roofs. When I looked for someone to fix our 20 year old roof that was in desperate need of help I interviewed 7 roofers. Tom was the only one who said he could restore it for me without bleaching and dying it like most other companies do which takes the beauty out of the wood and after a year makes the shingles look lifeless. I highly and emphatically recommend him!!!!!!!

It was the first time we had used them. We are happy with the work they did. They were very attentive.

He specializes in cedar. He did an excellent job. Other companies said I would need it replaced, he was able to make the repairs, saving me 1000s.
