+ 2 moreFor the 20 years we have been in our house, we used The Kitchen Master for our kitchen, our master bathroom, our hall bathroom and the best **** mud room you will ever see. Jennifer is an extraordinary designer and Ted is a perfectionist who will make sure his team delivers top notch work. For our first project, the kitchen, we ordered the cabinets through The Kitchen Master but had our own contractor install them. Big mistake! A few years later when Ted came to the house for the next project, he was so disappointed with how my contractor hung the kitchen cabinets that he fixed them for me. I’ve never used anyone else since. We haven’t had a major project in about 5 years but when I decided to sell my house, I needed a few things fixed to make everything look great. Some water damage below the sink had warped that cabinet, a toe kick was beyond a simple touch-up, and then I broke a glass pane in one of the kitchen cabinets 2 weeks before showings were to start. Ted and his team hopped right on it when I called. They didn’t have to do that. My work wasn’t going to be a big money maker and I’m moving out of state so there isn’t the promise of a lot of work in my next house. But none of that mattered. Ted and his team made me feel like they always make me feel - like my project was the most important one in the world.

+ 8 moreI found The Kitchen Master through Google – they’re between me and my train station, I’ve driven by thousands of times and never knew it was there! I worked with Anna for design, who came to the house and immediately pointed out all the little things I hated about my master bath before I could volunteer them. Both she, Tom (project manager) and everyone else I dealt with had great attention to detail, provided great design advise (because boy do I need it), and had excellent communication – available by email and phone, plus you can see day by day progress through their nifty web portal. Jobs were completed expediently, with basically zero punch list items. All around, just a really pleasant, zero stress experience, which was very important for me as I travel constantly for my job and needed someone doing the work that I didn’t feel like I needed to babysit. I was even confident and comfortable enough with their work that I went on an international vacation while my bathroom was being done! I can’t say that about any of the other people I’ve worked with in the house. Plus they went the extra mile to figure out how to deal with some unique materials in my townhouse (a weird subfloor that needed some special handling) and what had stymied other flooring companies in the past was a complete non-issue for these guys. So far I’ve had them replace my kitchen floor and all but gut my master bathroom, and I’ll absolutely use them again for the other bathroom in the house. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Kitchen Master and Anna specifically to anyone looking for remodeling.

+ -1 moreWhen we purchased a home in Naperville, we knew that we would install a new kitchen, but were unsure about any other changes. After consulting with several kitchen and bath remodelers, we found The Kitchen Master, and designer, Adam Hartig. Adam took time to listen to our ideas, and then added his professional expertise and vision. Following his advice, we decided to “open up” the main floor with some structural changes, rehab the kitchen and bathroom and also install hardwood flooring. We could not be more pleased with the finished product. It is not only beautiful, but functional and beyond our expectations. The communication aspect of the project, and the quality and timeliness were all excellent.

Description of Work: Jill and I want to thank you for assembling such a professional, talented and friendly Team to work on our new kitchen project. As you know, this was no simple project - take out old cabinets and install new. This project required creative talent and a willingness to solve problems (some anticipated and some discovered)! The Kitchen Master (KM) Team performed exceptionally! The project began during our first meeting with KM's Joseph Kiselyk, Certified Designer. Once we met him, we knew that Joseph was the designer that we wanted to work with us on our new kitchen! We thought Joseph was the perfect blend: personable, professional and knowledgeable! And he reinforced that feeling every time we met with him. He knew the budget we had established, and he worked with us to offer ideas, arrangements and products that led to a very successful outcome. Not only does he know design, but he also understands the business and the realities of construction. We would strongly recommend his services to others! Talent makes a job look easy. We could not have had a better Project Manager than KM's Tom Meyers. Tom's job is a tough one; I know, I've been in similar shoes! Tom took over the project and came up to speed remarkably quickly. It was not long before he knew this job inside out. He obviously knows his business! He coordinated the scheduling of the various sub-contractors, supplying some of the best craftsmen I have ever worked with and made decisions (and cajoling) appear effortless! Tom was here so often during the project that he became almost family. He was not afraid of facing unexpected problems head-on (and we had our share of those with "this old house")! As they occurred, Tom and his contractors would assess the problem, offer options and work with us to find a solution - just the way we hoped it would happen. Tom made the project look easy, but it was far from it. Every orchestra needs a conductor, and Tom was a perfect choice for this project! Talent makes a job look easy. Tom assigned Tim, a very talented carpenter (and much more), as the lead on this project. Tim spent more time here in our home with us than any of the other craftsmen. His capabilities and attention to detail amazed us! His solutions to issues were thoughtful, clever and knowledgeable, particularly the leveling of the floor, the matching of the ceilings, the new framing for the window, the unbelievable blending of the outside siding, the back stairs, and the new patio doors. Tim had an attitude that we think permeated the entire Team. First of all, among similar craftsmen they shared ideas and combined experiences; the result was near perfection. And between the different trades, it was encouraging and later comforting to see that the craftsmen not only knew each other but worked well together adjusting and coordinating their work efforts to seamlessly accomplish a quality result. A truly Team effort! Camping out in our two front rooms while construction progressed was not high on our list, but the end results and our fantastic new kitchen made it all worthwhile! And the wonderful people we met along the journey made it an experience we will always remember! + 3 moreThe Kitchen Master is a very first class company. We worked with Adam Hartig, who is a true expert in his field. He is thoroughly knowledgable and up to date on kitchen design. Our entire experience with the Kitchen Master was positive. Our project manager was Tom Meyers, and he was always courteous and respectful, and kept in constant communication throughout the duration of the project. All of the employees were always very courteous and professional, and extremely considerate that they were working in our home. The work and craftsmanship of the project is precise. Our project was a complete success, and we would recommend them to anyone. Even our neighbors commented that the workers were considerate about where they parked their cars and trucks on the street.
Description of Work: Complete gut kitchen renovation, new design and new concept. Removed walls and window. All new appliances. New hardwood floors, and new tile floors in mudroom and powder room.

+ -1 moreMy experience with The Kitchen Master was totally positive from the moment I walked into the showroom all the way to when my kitchen was finished. I had never had anything remodeled before and didn’t even know which questions to ask. Jennifer was so helpful. She explained to me the differences between cabinets, woods and finishes. She told me the different ways the cabinets could be constructed. I left with a good deal of material to go over, showing a lot of what she told me. The next step was to meet with Adam Hartig, the designer. His attention to detail was remarkable. We were part of the process of designing our kitchen every step of the way. He wanted us to have the kitchen that suited us best, and he stayed within the budget we were willing to spend. He gave us ideas that we never knew existed, and many were incorporated into the design. Adam was in constant contact with us the entire time. Tom Myers was the project manager. Since our house was built in 1970 and had the original kitchen, he knew they would run into some issues. He tried to plan in advance to correct anything that needed to be done so the kitchen would be up to code by today’s standards. He advised us to upgrade our electrical before the project started, which we did. We had constant lines of communication with Tom as well. The best part of the experience for us was Jason, who built our new kitchen. Not only is he an amazing craftsman and a very hard worker, but he was also very accommodating to us when we had questions or needed access to a part of the house that we had to get to through the kitchen. I also want to emphasize how clean he was. Plastic sheeting went up all around the kitchen before any work was started. At the end of every day, he cleaned everything. We didn’t find drywall dust or wood dust anywhere, including in the kitchen. At the end of the project, he cleaned the entire kitchen until it was spotless. Sometimes, the job needed more than one person, and at those times Ricardo came out to help. He had the same work ethic as Jason did. I was very impressed with the attention to even the smallest of details that everyone we worked with had. My new kitchen is perfect in every way, and everyone who worked with us had that as the goal. We have other projects in line in the future, and there is no doubt that when these projects are done, it will be by The Kitchen Master.

+ -1 moreThis project was a complete remodel of both the Master and Hall Bathrooms in our home including removal of pony walls and soffits. From the beginning to the end The Kitchen Master staff was exceptional. The design work with Adam was a great experience as he helped guide us in creating the exact feel that we had envisioned for each bath. His expertise and suggestions were spot on and they look great. It was very convenient to be able to pick out all our choices in their showroom. Their estimates on when the work would begin and how long it would take were accurate. One of the details that we appreciated about the process was that they make sure all of the materials are in their warehouse before they start the work. There were no delays. The staff was great. Tom the Project Manager was always in communication throughout the project. Mike and Phil the installers were on time, were conscientious and had pride in their work. The support staff of Ricardo and Adele were equally as considerate. Our dog will miss all of them! The work area was swept up after each day and was cleaned at the end of the project. This project took 7-8 weeks. They completed one bath at a time so that we always had a functioning bath. I would use Kitchen Master again for future projects. Top notch. Highly recommend.

+ -1 moreDesigner Adam. He was very thorough and detailed. He brought some new ideas to the table and ultimately found the best design layout for my kitchen. Tom was the project manager. He made sure everything was on schedule and I was aware of what was going on. Mike was the head carpenter. Showed up every day on time, cleaned up, his workmanship was excellent. The electrician and plumber were very professional and did a great job. Ted the owner came out on site and made checks on the progress I made some last minute design changes - expanded the countertop overhang the day before the countertop guys came out to measure. They new it was a concern and was able to make the change and made the necessary adjustments . Everything completed on time, just in time for Christmas....best present ever. In fact, I think I still owe those a guys a dinner. I would highly recommend these guys.

+ 5 moreWe highly recommend The Kitchen Master. We loved the design Adam created for our kitchen and though the whole process, Adam kept in touch with us to make sure everything was going as planned. Our Project Manager Tom Myers kept in constant contact and up-to-date during the entire remodel process and was always reachable by phone/text. At the last minute, we were able to donate our old counter tops and cabinets to Habitat For Humanity. Mike (our Installer), Audel and Ricardo took such care when they removed the old cabinets and made sure they didn't get damaged and they were able to remove the granite countertops without cracking them. Mike did a phenomenal job on the installation of the new cabinets and moldings. They are BEAUTIFUL! Every day we had questions about the work that had been done and each worker answered all of our questions. None of the guys ever made us feel like we were dumb or that we were wasting their time. The Electrician Shawn did a great job with the electrical and the lighting. Ricardo would periodically drop off supplies or clean up and he always had such a positive, happy demeanor. Patience and Anthony did a beautiful job on the tile work! And we love the refinishing job that Kevin, Gary and crew did on the floor!! It's gorgeous! A few of the cabinets had nicks in them after they were installed. The drawers/doors were all replaced and even a few we didn't notice that had flawsand hellip;no questions asked. We were never given a hard time about anything we perceived as damaged or wrong. All issues were immediately addressed and resolved! When Jason, Anthony or Phil were here to make any corrections, they were always respectful and caring of our house, our time and answered all our questions! We are extremely pleased with the overall process! They were right on time with the time frame and even though we knew they were more expensive than other companies, it was worth EVERY penny! We will be calling them for our bathroom remodel! If you want a company that does what they say they will do and backs it up with quality work, knowledge and professionalismand hellip;The Kitchen Master is the company to hire!

It didn't work out because they didn't have the style, I was looking for a really contemporary look, and most of my friends' cabinets were full wood and oak and maple and I just wanted something more pleasing than the old one. If I had not found something else, I would have done business with them but I wanted oak. I thought the price was reasonable for the product that I was given.

+ 5 moreThe project went very well. I loved everybody on the team. They were always professional, neat, on-time and helpful. They answer questions, make changes without complaint and walk you through every step of the project. The work is of the highest quality and it looks beautiful.
Description of Work: We turned an un-heated breezeway into a heated Mudroom and remodeled the adjacent laundry room The space is approximately 14 ft by 20 feet. They obtained permits, pulled off all the drywall and old flooring. They insulated the room, put in new duct work, brought electrical up to code. They did some plumbing in the laundry room and installed new doors. They installed new cabinets, flooring and did extensive woodwork to provide the look I wanted. They do everything from design, to helping you with product selection, to holding your hand when you have a panic attack that you made the wrong choice, etc

+ 2 moreExcellent and attentive design staff, accurate estimates/contracts and complete job completed in a total of three months. Like the concept that they await until all materials are on site before starting demo and had daily contact with workers/supervisory staff. Design staff always interested and available for minor consults too. Owner actively involved at all levels, top-notch materials, site cleaned everyday and waste hauled out in timely manner. Brought in very professional subcontractors (electrical/plumbing)/wood flooring) in a well coordinated fashion, their own finish carpentry is impressive/detailed and all permit inspections passed without concern/delay. The best remodeling company I have dealt with ever, they strive for complete satisfaction and very helpful from a design perspective. Only drawback is they do not do painting but more than acceptable company policy given the quality of their work and attention to detail. Hired a separate professional painter the the ultimate product shines even more. Suspect TEd has just not found a pro painter he can trust yet! Perceived extra cost by the end of the project is easy to justify when you see the finished product. Planning to call them back for upstairs bathroom remodels in near future when ready.
Description of Work: Ted and his colleagues completed a new kitchen/half-bath remodel, as well as re-do of all doors,trim and wainscotting in a formal dinner room for a total remodel of our first floor. Our house was built in the 1960s and had a prior kitchen remodel. Complete certified design/remodeling services provided.

The measuring and installing went according to their promises and the job was completed in a timely manner. They were very helpful in locating the hardware for the cabinets which were no longer in production. They modified several of the hinges for us.

+ 4 moreOverall, the job met our expectations. The workmanship and professionalism of the crew was excellent. Our questions and/or concerns were answered promptly.The project was estimated to be completed in six to seven weeks and was actually completed in eight. There was an entire week of inactivity while waiting for countertops to be installed. During that time some other work, not dependent on the countertops such as electrical,should have been scheduled.The final product is one we are quite proud of. The "fit and finish" of the materials and crew's skill was excellent, leaving only a couple of punchlist items, which were remedied immediately.
Description of Work: Completely demolish existing kitchen and dining room, removing existing wall between the two rooms. Add hardwood floors and weave into existing hardwood and finish. New Omega cabinets Quartz counter tops. new lighting, including under cabinet fixtures.

+ 2 moreStaff from the The Kitchen Master came out to remove the existing countertop, sink, and faucet prior to the installation of the new quartz countertop by staff from Cambria. After the installation of the new countertop, staff from The Kitchen Master came back out to install the new sink, faucet, and lights in the half bath or powder room. This whole process took about a day and half. The quality of the work and craftsmanship were excellent. We are very happy with the final product and their work. We used The Kitchen Master to replace the existing countertop, sink, faucet, and garbage disposal in our kitchen in May of 2011 and to remove all existing appliances. They installed a new Cambria quartz countertop, sink, and faucet, and installed a garbage disposal and all new Jenn Air appliances (dishwasher, cooktop range, and microwave-oven combo) from Abt Electronics. They did excellent work and we will continue to use The Kitchen Master for any future projects.
Description of Work: We contacted The Kitchen Master to come out to evaluate the materials and cost of replacing the countertop, sink, faucet, and lights in the half bathroom or powder room next to the kitchen. We selected the Cambria quartz countertop, sink, faucet, and lights in their showroom for them to install after removing the existing items.

+ 0 moreThe counter and installation were done very well--by the other company. Though I am happy generally with the counter (even if it is not the one I ordered) and the work done, I will probably just deal directly with the other Chicago Heights company when I'm in the market for bathroom counters.
Description of Work: Somewhat pricey but overall good work. However, since mine was a "small" job--only having my kitchen counter replaced, I felt that my job was not high on their priority list. First of all, I was told all work was done by their own craftsmen. However, my counter was farmed out to another company in Chicago Heights (the name of which escapes me since I cannot find my receipt). Second, when the order was put into the other company, the Large Ogee edging that I requested was put in as Small Ogee by Kitchen Masters. I was only aware of this error after the counter was fully installed. My flustered sales rep then told me that, they could no longer offer the Large Ogee edging. I then asked her why I wasn't called to be offered my choice of the other options available to me? She could not answer me. She did not seem to want to admit to human error. After speaking with the owner, It turns out that it was simply human error, which I understand. He only offered the $90.00 difference that he saved in ordering the wrong counter. That was only 2.5% of the purchase price. Considering, that I could have asked him to replace the entire counter, since it was not the counter on the contract, I was hoping for a little bit more compensation.

+ 4 moreFrom the beginning visit to the showroom and in-home design consultation to the many reiterations of the design and final execution, Kitchen Master was totally responsive to our needs, concerns and vision for our kitchen. After signing the contract, the materials were ordered and arrived in less than a month. From the actual start date of construction, the entire project was completed in less than 6 weeks in a totally professional manner with attention to every detail. We couldn't have been more pleased and would not change anything about our kitchen. We had heard many horror stories about kitchen remodels from our friends and acquaintances, but all I can say is that they didn't use The Kitchen Master of Naperville. We highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Kitchen Master designed and executed a major kitchen remodeling in our home. Our kitchen was brought down to the studs, walls were removed, and the refrigerator was repositioned. All new cabinets, counter tops, appliances, recessed and pendant lighting were installed. The floors throughout our entire downstairs were refinished

+ 1 moreThe wall above the counter top is tiled so one of my concerns was how the new counter top would look. Would they be able to get a close fit between the bottom of the tile and the top of the new counter top and could the get the old counter top out with out damaging the tile or the cabinets. This is the 4th time we have used Kitchen Master. Previous work included a complete remodel of our kitchen back in 1992. Remodel of out two full baths back in 1994 and a remodel of our and frac12; bath in 1997. Our great experience with the previous jobs gave confidence that Ted and his team would do a great job and I was not disappointed. We scheduled to have the old counter top removed just before we left on vacation so they could measure for the new counter top and build it while we were on vacation. They arrived on time to remove the old counter top and were done in about 3 hours. They did no damage to the walls, tile or cabinets removing the counter top. We then scheduled to have the new counter top installed the day after we returned from vacation. Again they arrived on time. It took the team most of the day to install the counter top, sink, faucet and cook top. It looks great. Good fit between the counter top and the tile wall.
Description of Work: We had them replace the “L” shaped Formica counter top, Koehler cast-iron sink and gas cook top with Corian counter top, composite sink and new cook top. The new Corian top needed to match the existing Corian top on the island.
