We enjoyed the fact that Strahan Construction delivered on all of our requests, and kept us informed and updated throughout the process. Our phone calls were always answered 7 days a week, and inquiries were responded to promptly. We were impressed by the professionalism and commitment Robert has to exceeding our expectations. Any minor issues or adjustments post renovation has been addressed quickly and completely. Very nice to partner with a contractor who listens to your concerns and objectives, delivers a quality product on time, and still is committed to high service levels even after the last check has been cashed.

Strahan Construction is my go to company if I ever need any work done on the house. I have used Robert many times over the years. He is easy to work with and wants to please his customer. Robert did a phenomenal job for us. He was a man who was true to his word. If he said he would be there, he was there. His team was also very punctual and professional. Robert helped us through the design phase and provided us with a variety of options so we could make the best choice for our budget. We never felt like he was pushing us to spend more money that we wanted. Our bathroom was transformed and looks amazing. We are extremely happy with the results and would be very willing to be a reference for Robert and his company. While we knew he had other projects going on at the same time, Robert always made us feel like our job was the most important. He would check in with us often to make sure we were happy with the progress of the job. In the world of builders and remodelers, it is very hard to find somebody you can really trust. We can tell you that Robert is that guy you can trust. Our next project is the basement. We plan on using Robert to do that work as well.

Our basement remodel ended up being a space that was even better than we thought possible! I was one who collected magazine ideas, watched the home remodeling channels and purchased many home remodel, repair and decorating books. The expectation of what our space would be was both exciting and also made me apprehensive. We believe the main reason the results are so positive is that we chose Strahan Construction as the general contractor for this project. Robert listened to what we wanted the space to contain and also how we wanted it to feel when you where in it. We wanted a balance of having a space that was our taste but also good for resale value--to use good quality materials (but not go overboard)--something a little whimsical--and where family and friends are comfortable and want to hang out. He understood our vision and used his experience to collaborate on materials, design and construction. If we had used a contractor with a set design layout and specific hardware products, we would have ended up with your standard basement remodel. We would highly recommend Strahan Construction. Robert always kept our best interest in mind with every aspect of the remodel. He was honest about costs, let us know if something was not going to work, dealt with problems head-on and quickly, and was actually a fun guy to have walking through our front door!

Appointments were made to review the work and provide estimates. Strahan Construction was on time and provided timely estimates. The estimate and the final price were within dollars. Arrangements were made to begin the work and the work was started on time and done in the estimated time frame. Strahan Construction made recommendations and shopped for the agreed upon appliances. Following the completion of the construction and remodel I had a slight problem with my garbage disposal (Strahan Construction did not install the disposal), I called Strahan Construction to ask questions and within the next 24 hours Strahan came to the house to look at the disposal and was able to fix the problem. This is the kind of sevice that Strahan Construction provides to its customer, it's like inviting family into your home. I was very satisfied with the work and service. I would use Strahan Construction for my next remodel.

Robert Strahan and his team did an excellent job. He went far beyond expectations and his attention to quality was superior to previous experiences with other builders. We could not be happier with the finished job. His crew was extremely courteous and punctual. They are a great group of guys and I always felt comfortable with them in our home. We met with a number of different builders and found that we had a very different experience dealing with the owner of the company rather than a project manager or sales person. Robert also has a ton of experience and brought a great perspective and vision to our project. He's very creative and added a lot of unique features that made our basement unique and different. We absolutely love the finished product and count Robert as a new friend. We will absolutely use him a gain for future projects.

Strahan Constuction did a complete redesign/renovation of a family room. On a scale from 1 to 10, Robert Strahan should get a 15. We asked 3 other companies for bids. 2 never got back to us and the 3rd did not respond in a prompt time frame (months later).We asked Mr. Strahan and he promptly came out, and listened to our needs. Strahan Construction is a full service business, from creating the design to the end of the remodel. We loved his suggestions of options available within our budget and making it better than we could have hoped for. This was the smoothest renovation ever. Robert Strahan's crews were hardworking, courteous, polite, and kept everything clean. After the remodeling, we had Strahan Construction complete new roofing, plumbing, electrical and heating improvements. Throughout each job, everything was on schedule and virtually stress free. He came out each day, always willing to answer questions and go the extra mile. We will be calling Strahan Construction for all future work and are recommending Robert to our friends and family. Love that he makes sure it is quality work, fairly priced and on time, There isn't anything too big or too small for this company and to top it off, Robert is licensed and has a clean bill of health from the Better Business Bureau, which is a must!!!

The bar was set high. Robert Strahan came highly recommended from a friend and when I met Robert he told me that he would exceed my expectations. Despite an almost unrealistic vision of both the experience and the outcome, Robert and his crew did indeed exceed my expectations! I am so delighted that I found Strahan Construction. From the drawing and design to the actual work, the experience was delightful. Robert was personally involved and through his attitude and actions showed that he really does want to make his clients happy. He makes you feel like you are his most important client. His crew was professional, on-time, respectful and did craftsmanship quality work. The work site was always left clean. I now have the most beautiful patio that makes my backyard a little paradise. I can't wait to have another project that Robert Strahan can help me with.

It went so well! The owner of Strahan Construction is a hands on guy who listens to what you want and works with you all along the way. He was always available and returned calls quickly. Most of the time he was available when you called him. and you didn't even need to leave a message. The quality of the work was the best. No short cuts. The tradesmen were always respectful and top notch workers in their individual trade fields. I could tell the owner has a good relationship with all of the trades people. If I ever had a project to do in the future, Robert, Strahan Construction, would be my choice!

Perfect. Workers arrived on time, worked quickly to complete the job in about 4 hours, plumber came later and hooked up all the new sink/faucet. Workers cleaned up after themselves, placed drop clothes on floor to keep clean.

He was very professional and enticing. He was competitive with his pricing. We responded back and forth by texting.

We called Bob after we encountered delays with our original contractor. He came out, assessed the project, gave us a fantastic price and started work within a week. We are no-muss no-fuss people and we appreciated the speed at which he worked. However, speed didn't mean lack of attention. His crew's attention to detail is great and the quality of the work is top notch. He has gone above and beyond our expectations. He will be our go-to contractor for any house construction needs from now on.

My 20-year old house looks like a newly constructed custom home! The new look is great and I have received many compliments on the upgrade. Robert Strahan did a fantastic job helping me coordinate the look for everything -- right down to choosing paint colors to pull the overall look together. He is very detail oriented, but also knew I had a hard deadline for an annual party I host at my home so he and his subcontractors worked long days and weekends to get the project done on time. He even came over the morning of the party to do a second cleaning up so the house would look great. He really cares about his work.

I could not be happier with my basement. It went from a generic space that was designed primarily for small children to a unique, beautiful gathering spot for adults and teenagers alike. Robert Strahan is by far the most service oriented contractor I have ever worked with. He is detail oriented and takes pride in his work. He managed his subcontractors very well and met with me whenever I requested a meeting, whether it was during the day, at night or on weekends. If I was at work, he was always there to supervise furniture deliveries and other professionals I had hired as part of the basement remodel. Robert's work speaks for itself but he is a true pleasure to work with.

Robert came himself from Chicago (drove 3 hours to get to my house) and measured my countertops after I emailed him rough measurements and photos of my kitchen. I had initially chosen the granite, however, Robert highly recommended I reconsider and choose another one that he said I will love, and with some hesitation and being nervous about it, I decided to trust his decision and expertise, since this is his profession and he's done so many kitchens! That same evening his crew came to make the template and take exact measurements. He later sent me a photo of the slab which he hand chose for me, and it looked nice, but still hard to figure out what the end result was going to look like. He said I am going to love it. The next week, his crew came and within an hour, they removed all my countertops, which was amazing to see how fast they worked. As soon as they brought the first piece of my granite, I fell in love with it and was so happy I went with Robert's expertise. It was absolutely beautiful (Uba Tuba)! Then they started bringing in the granite pieces and secured everything, then filled in the seams and put a finish coat on it, then put a 15 year seal on it. Took them them about 8 hours in total (had to run to menards a couple of times) but they completed the entire job that day. They cleaned up the mess and had my granite shining beautifully. A few days later, I found one very small chip and called Robert, and he is going to come back and take care of it...no hesitation. Robert and his company were so easy to work with and were very professional and fast. I was not inconvenienced at all since they got it done in one day! I just had to coordinate a handyman to removed my existing stovetop and sink the day before and then come back the day after to reinstall them. His service made it as painless as renovating a kitchen could be and I highly recommend him!

We bought a remarkable mid-century modern house in late 2012. Designed by L. Morgan Yost, the architectural drawings for the house are actually in the Art Institute of Chicago. The house needed a tremendous amount of work. As is typical for a modern house, the great room is all glass except for one wall. Fixed panes were 8?x 12? and one was triangular 8? wide and between 10? and 14? high. There were also sliding glass doors that were 8? high by 6? wide. When we bought the house, we knew the old single-pane windows would have to be replaced. However, most window-replacement contractors were unable to provide either sliding glass doors or fixed pane windows in original dimensions, and the commercial contractors we contacted quoted very high prices?adding up to 50% of the purchase price of the house. Fortunately for us, we had called Robert Strahan about another possible job and he volunteered that he could get exact replacements for the sliding glass doors and the fixed windows at a reasonable price. His bid of $75,000 for all the windows on the ground floor was almost too good to believe--the most recent bid had a higher price for just one set of sliding glass doors. As it turned out, the job took much longer than expected because of difficulties with the manufacturer (there is only left in the country that can produce windows of the size we needed) but Robert was exceptionally good at keeping us informed and he got the work done promptly when the glass arrived. All the work was done carefully and Robert came by to personally inspect everything that was done.

Step wise, organized, and involved. He keeps you updated through out the process. Yet, more importantly, he stays involved. He's on the job daily. He's available all of the time. You never feel left alone. You never feel that you cannot call him for job's he's involved in as well as other potential issues in your home. He's always available to assist, advise, and help. No job is too big nor too small.

The experience was simply phenomenal. He has gone above and beyond to work with us and help us on design, build and finish. He also helped us on issues which were not his area he was hired for. He simply wants to make clients entirely happy and content so that they know there is help at any time.

We shop around received other bids. Robert had the best price and service. He came out the next day with samples, we chose the color and he installed it 2 days later. Great customer service. We would recommend him to others.

Robert is very friendly and was excellent resource for ideals on how to make our kitchen look outstanding. He was hired to replace our counters but helped us fix our grout problem in our new flooring. He recommened using grout stainer to darken the grout and "bring out the color of tile". He showed us how to apply the stainer, no cost. No job is too small foir him. He did a great job and highly recommend for future jobs.

I would highly recommend this company, they did a beautiful job in my kitchen and bathroom. The owner Robert Strahan makes himself present on the job and gets involved in the work with his workers. If I had any issues, complaints or suggestions he would respond quickly. You can always reach him on his cell phone with a return call usually within the hour. It was great working with Robert and his company-very down to earth people!

I called asking Strahan Construction to schedule a visit to provide a quote on some remodel work that I want to have scheduled for a home that we just purchased. I was asked to send a text with my phone number and an address and that someone would contact me to schedule an appointment. I did receive a call back, however it was from a different construction firm that had already told me that they don't do that type of work and were not interested in providing a quote. The person that called stated that they commonly refer each other work when it's not in their normal coverage territory. When I explained that his firm had already turned me down to even provide an estimate for the work, he apologized for the mixup. a) At least he apologized and while I find it a bit odd that a construction firm that advertises providing free estimates won't do so when called... at least they let me know in advance they were not interested in the bid. b) If Strahan didn't want to provide an estimate because of my location, I would have appreciated a call asking if they can refer to someone else before they take it upon themselves to make that decision for me. I find this very inconsiderate to a potential client, even if you are turning down my business. No need to worry as I won't be considering you in the future. I certainly hope your construction work is better than your customer service. To update, I did receive a call back from Strahan apologizing for the mixup and acknowledging that they should have at least called me before making the referral. I do appreciate that they acknowledged my frustration and they offered to refer me some additional contacts. I do understand that they thought they were helping me out by providing the blind referral, but it really just to the delays in my receiving the estimates that I am looking for.

We are extremely happy with the work that Robert and his team performed to transform our basement into what it is now. The entire project was completed with very little or no delay. Robert was a joy to work with. He is very patient guy! Whatever came his way, he dealt with it professionally and maintained composure, whether it was us not being able to make a decision, or us changing our minds or if one of the contractors was not on schedule, he remained cool! He kept us abreast of the day to day schedule, what we could expect and again, if there were changes thru out the daily schedules, he would always communicate that to us. His team of contractors were very professional, very polite, very respectful of our home and the work that they were performing. All groups cleaned up after themselves. From start to finish, we have absolutely no complaints. Robert often offered his suggestions/opinions which seemed to help us in our decisions, again, based on his experience and knowledge. He is a very organized guy! With several projects going on at any given time, he was always very responsive and followed-thru with whatever he had scheduled. Robert is a very trustworthy businessman. There were many times that I was not in the home at times of work, he was available to either unlock/lock our home or be here in the home when he needed to be. He is a very hardworking guy. Day or night, he was always available, very responsive to phone calls and/or text messages. Overall, the price was reasonable and the quality of work was very, very good. We will not hesitate to contact Robert again if the need arises in regards to our home. Great experience!!!
