He put in storm windows in the bedroom. When I went to clean the windows I took out the screen and couldn’t get it back in so I called him. He was at the house in about 5 minutes fixed the problem within 3 minutes. He is my go to handyman. I had him renovate my basement about 9 months ago as well. He is happy to come out. He has a very good attitude.

We used Strahan Construction for a basement remodel last year. When we needed a few small jobs completed we didn't hesitate to call him again. This time we used him for electrical, installation of a door and a small carpet job. All the work was finished within a couple of days, and done to perfection! No job too big or too small.

We were very excited as well as nervous to get our basment finsihed. We were nervous because we were on a tight budget and heard many horror stories about cost overruns on projects like this. We didnt want to live with noise and dust for a long period of time and we wanted the lower level to reflect the high quality of the upper two floors. Strahan Construction was a dream. We got personal attention from the owner Robert. He really listened to all of our needs. He spent alot of time with me and my wife just walking the basement, asking us questions and coming up with ideas. He helped us be able to see what the finished product would look like with drawings, tape outlines, and pictures from other jobs. He then sent us a bid. It looked too good to be true. Theprice was less than we expected, the timeline seemed aggressive and the promises of limited dust all seemed like it was too good to be true. So much so that we went out and got several bids. The other contractors hardly had time for us, the prices were all over the place and the bids were written in away that allowed for alot of up charges. Here are the facts: -The job was finished exactly on time -The price came out exactly for the amount bidded (we were even given some upgrades we werent expecting because Robert was able to save money in some other areas and passed that on to us) -His crew was friendly and usually right on time -He worked with us on some layout changes during the framing period that really helped with the final design -THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT IS WE LOVE OUR BASEMENT. This was a wonderful experience from start to finish!!! A couple days before the work began, his son and he came over and put down protective paper on all the areas workers would be walking. Carpet/stairs/wood floors...everything was covered. All the work began at the same time. It was an extremely well organized project. Which really had to be because work was being performed on all levels of the house. Robert would meet the workers at the house to discuss the work needing to be done that day. If I wasn't able to be at home to let people in, Robert would be there. The project was well underway when I decided to change some of the plans. I actually changed many things along the way. Some, after the work had already been completed. It was never an issue with Robert. He simply changed it to make it the way I wanted. For instance, all the electrical had been placed when I realized the light for a bathroom was bigger than I thought. The box had to be moved on the ceiling. Actually, electrical was changed many times (even a couple days ago...4 months after completion)! After living with the basement space a while, I thought I'd like all the lights in my furnace room connected to one switch. I called him and before I knew it the electrician was here to do it. Also, a closet was planned for the basement bath. After framing for the space, I decided I really didn't want that. He simply had it ripped out. As with any project, and especially a large one like this, there will be changes either you, as the home owner, want to make or changes that have to be done depending on pipes, beams, etc....It was never a big deal for him. He just didn't sweat the small stuff. It is important to also note his patience. There were steps along the way that took extra time. We needed to pick out and order all necessary fixtures/appliances/furniture/countertops. Some of which had to be special ordered. At times, I felt we were working at a snails pace because my husband and I couldn't decide on certain items. It never bothered him. He patiently waited (with an occasional joke or two) for it all to come in. The project was completed last Fall. We are very happy with the work done and we will use him again for future jobs. Robert Strahan is an honest, trustworthy professional who my husband and I now call a friend.
