Simply Clean

It was great. She was on time, cleaned hard and fast, and didn't stop until she was done. Everything looked great.

The woman who came out was excellent. She cleaned all the romoms in my house as if I were doing it. What a great job she did. Since the initial clean, I now have Simply Clean come out once a month a do a cleaning of my house. They promised eveything that was on their website. Excellent job and service Simply Clean. I would recommend them to anybody.

I was doubtful only 2 people could clean my house in 6 hours as i've had teams of 4 that took the same amount of time and charged about the same but these 2 ladies were very thorough and worked hard. My house is clutter free so there was no time wasted moving piles of clutter - they got right to work cleaning ceiling fans, blinds and baseboards and dust everywhere. They did a great job in every room. I was very happy with the job that they did and would definitely call this agency again.

I was looking for a cleaning service after I had a Bi-lateral Radical Mastectomy and expecting a Hysterectomy in the future due to uterine cancer. I wanted Paul to come out and give me a bid. He was kind enough to explain his partnership with Clean for a Reason who give people facing situations with cancer and I believe especially breast cancer. I believe that is their main focus. A chance to have 4 cleanings one time a month for four months and then a discount during your treatment. Paul had no guarantee he would be the provider of my service. He just wanted to help. A doc has to approve you for this kindness. Not everyone is approved. Paul went out on a limb to help me. Just because he knew of something that would meet my needs at no cost and he had no idea if it would ever turn into money for him.

They cleaned my house how I would clean it also the owner always communicated with me through email helped me out by sending them a couple days earlier.they worked fast and hard Lways askings questions.

The two women were phenomenal and very professional. I am really pleased and will use Simply Clean again for the same purpose.Paul, the person who scheduled the cleaning, is the beast. And the cleaning was superb. I would repeat the service in a heart beat. I travel a lot, and so the house go uncleaned for three to four weeks at a time. These women remedied all situations and problems with the cleaning. Thank you Simply Clean.

She was very thorough, the house looks amazing. It was a very positive experience.

We needed the house spotless as we are getting ready to sell. The team did an amazing job and made everything sparkle, especially the kitchen.

I searched for a housecleaning service in my area. I contacted Simply Clean and worked with a gentleman on price and schedules. The first housecleaning was a bit more but they did an excellent job. The second house cleaning was at the regular price and again the ladies did an excellent job. I have been very happy with their service thus far. They are polite, punctual and affordable. I recommend Simply Clean to anyone looking for a good job and flexibility.

I filled out a form on their website to request a quote for an initial cleaning. Paul was very responsive and helpful and we set up a time and date which was a Thursday; I then asked if future cleanings could take place on Fridays, and he was able to accommodate this. The lady who came was very nice and she did a decent job, perhaps not spectacular, but decent. The only real problem was that she used a canister vacuum which worked fine on the hard floors, but did not work on the carpet AT ALL (and unfortunately my house is mostly carpet). It didn't even look like it had been vacuumed. I sent an email to Paul the next day and asked if she would use my own vacuum next time if possible. So she did, and everything was fine. One thing I found strange is that there was no "cleaning" scent left behind. The house smelled like.......nothing. Perhaps it's due to the eco-friendly products they use, or maybe I'm just used to smelling chemicals when I clean! Ongoing monthly cleanings cost $112.00. I've never had a cleaning service on a regular basis before, so I'm not sure if this is standard pricing, but am just providing the info for other members' reference. It takes the lady 2 hours to do the whole house (approx. 1400 sq. ft.).

We just had Simply Clean today to do a deep cleaning in our house. We are putting our house on the marked and that was the last step before we do that. I emailed Simply Clean a request , Paul gave me the price and available day for the cleaning. 2 girls arrived on time and worked 6 hours straight. They were very polite and asked me if we had any special instructions or where should we focus more. House looks beautiful and is ready for the first show. We will keep using Simply Clean every 2 weeks until we sell the house. They use green products and I recommend to everybody !!!

They did dust and vacuum and wipe down our stainless steel appliances but they didn't do a very good job of cleaning the counters in the kitchen. There was a slight coffee splash around the coffee bar and that was still there when we got home. Also a k-cup had fallen in between our counter and fridge that morning and my husband suggested we leave it there as a test. It was still there when we got home. The furniture had not been vacuumed and our wood floors appeared as though they were given a quick going over. The bathrooms were adequate but nothing more than I would do quickly on a Saturday. No one called to follow up or try to sell additional service. My guess is they knew better.

I contacted Simply Green to establish regular cleaning service for my home. Paul was very responsive, reviewed the details of my request, and provided a fair price for the services I wanted. When it came time to establish a schedule for service, i requested Fridays, which he said he could not accommodate. I then asked what days/times he could accomodate, and he didn't respond. I inquired again, and he stated that he didn't service my area. I told him I thought that was odd because the service area listed in Angie's List indicated that he did, and he stated that he was going to change the listing. I completely understand that a small business cannot service all areas, but i have no idea why Paul wasted my time working through the details if he was suddenly going to decide he didn't want to come to Medinah. It just left a very bad impression.

They were excellent and we're actually considering hiring them as our regular housecleaning service. They called me back I believe the same day I purchased it, asking me when I wanted to schedule the work and we did it about 3 days after.

I just bought a home that was extremely dirty. The scheduling manager worked with me to find a day and people who would get the job done. They definitely got the job done! It was especially difficult because the former owner was a smoker. The girls were at the house from noon until 9 PM! There probably should have been more than two people, but I never explicitly asked for more. The girls that came worked hard and did everything I asked. I cannot believe they stayed so late. I do wish that the kitchen floor had been worked on a bit more, but after all that they did, I am still quite satisfied and would use them again.

We hired Simply Clean to clean our new house that we just bought and wanted to do a Move In cleaning before we move our furniture. We liked it so much so we hired them again to do a Move Out cleaning in the place that we lived. 2 girls were on time , very polite and did an amazing job in both places. We are hiring Simply Clean to do a regular cleaning every 2 weeks.

This was our second time using Simply Clean. The first time we did a spring cleaning and now we are following up with regular cleanings. The employee arrived on time and her work was thorough. So far, we are very pleased.

There were two ladies who arrived promptly at 8 am to do a move-in deep clean of our entire house. They were nice, courteous, and very professional. I was happy with their work because I could see that they were being as thorough as possible. They did not seem to mind when I would come by to check on them from time to time. When I requested them to focus on certain areas or re-clean something, they had no complaints. At one point they told me that they needed to be at another house by 2 pm and it was obvious that they would not be able to finish the work on our house on time. I called their manager and he said they did not need to rush and could spend the rest of the day cleaning our house, which they did to our satisfaction.

The ladies arrived a little late, but were nice when they came. I was expecting a deep cleaning based on the description of the service I purchased from Big Deals. My normal cleaning lady charges $80 and cleans my house every 2 weeks. I assumed this cleaning would go above and beyond her normal services. There were cobwebs on my light fixtures after they left. Every sink had a film left on it. The mirrors and windows were streaky and not clean. In many ways they did less than my normal cleaning lady and charged over twice as much! The supplies they used were pretty standard and not "green" or enviromentally friendly. This was not green or deep which is how they advertised the service. Disappointing.

This is my second time using Simply Clean. They got surfaces in the shower clean that I have never been able to get clean. My stainless steel appliances have never been so clean. The employees were punctual, professional, and respectful of our home. This company has exceeded my expectations!! By the way, they clean with natural (non toxic) products.

We contacted Simply Clean by email and in 30 min we received an answer with some questions about our house. After answering the questions Paul gave me the price. Girls arrived on time and they were very polite. We showed them around the house and told them what bothers us most. When we came back at night , we were very impressed. Simply Clean did an amazing job and all process was very smooth.

When we first started using this company we had a great person who really cleaned the house well. We have had a different person for awhile and I have about had it with the poor results. She is only in the house for about 3 1/2 hours a month, while the first person we had stayed most of the day. She doesn't dust. I moved my ottoman today and found all sorts of stuff under there. We have molding in the upstairs bathroom that I wiped with a cloth today and it was black. She picks and chooses what she cleans and nothing is every cleaned well. I am hiring a new service.

In the end, this was--without a shadow of a doubt--the very worst experience I ever had with a contractor or a subcontractor in my life. When I notified the Scheduling Manager about the shoddy cleaning, he agreed to refund $100 of the cost. When I notified him of the damage done to the wood, he insisted that (a) the cleaning lady couldn't possibly have done it, (b) the product she "used," METHOD: AN ALL PURPOSE CLEANER, was safe and wouldn't harm wood stain, and--most unprofessionally and disturbingly--(c) he insinuated that I was complaining about previously damaged wood just so his company would refinish it. I then invited he and the cleaning lady to come out and explain how she cleaned the railings and with what. Although we originally scheduled the meeting for 2:00 p.m. on April 29, they arrived at 4:00 p.m. To his credit, he had informed me earlier that they wouldn't be able to arrive until 3:00 p.m. When we showed them the railings, they again insisted she couldn't have done it. When we asked why she didn't use the products we had supplied, and safely used for 6 years, they didn't respond. When we asked what she did use, she pulled out a citrus-based furniture polish, that was NOT what she was told to use nor was it what he had insisted she had used. In fact, it is NOT a product listed on the Chicago Simply Clean website that they purportedly endorse and use. When he wiped on a small amount and gently rubbed it on the rail, he was satisfied that it couldn't have done the damage. When they were informed that another professional contractor had recently inspected the railings and said they were beautiful and wouldn't recommend any changes to them, they just spoke in a foreign language. When I told the Scheduling Manager that I was now even more skeptical about what was used and how it was done, he again clearly reinsinuated that we were claiming they did the damage just to have the railings repaired. When I asked him to state plainly what he was insinuating, he would not do so. When I asked him the name of the owner of the company, he told me it was someone named Odetta, although the website shows her also as a Scheduling Manager. No one answered the phone when I called to find Odetta. They then left, quite unprofessionally, obviously satisfied with his test results, completely ignoring the facts that WE TOLD HER TO USE OUR PRODUCTS AND THAT SHE USED A PRODUCT NOT ON THEIR LIST OF SAFE PRODUCTS. If you are looking to have your house cleaned, I recommend hiring a reputable company or doing it yourself. I would not recommend this company to anyone or anybody. I also recommend you carefully read the reviews from those who assigned grades lower than A or B. Apparently, others have had problems similar to the ones we endured. REBUTTAL TO COMPANY RESPONSE: For the record, ...he skipped over the part where the cleaning person was told TO USE THE PRODUCTS WE HAD SUPPLIED. She did not. ...he did NOT have METHOD: ALL PURPOSE CLEANER in his hands while doing his "test." He had a bottle of EARTH FRIENDLY--FLOOR CLEANER FOR LAMINATE AND HARDWOOD that the cleaning person SAID she had used and had brought with her. As anyone knows, floor cleaners are made for floors, not stained wooden railings. As stated earlier, the latter is NOT listed on their website for products they use and endorse. ...when we told him that some citrus-based products--even those described as being natural and Earth friendly--can strip stain from wood, he said "This product [Earth Friendly} doesn't have oranges in it." When my wife opened the cap, the smell of oranges was obvious. And, according to the company, it is "Made with naturally pure essential oils of olives and oranges. . ." ...he did NOT rub hard when applying EARTH FRIENDLY-FLOOR CLEANER FOR LAMINATE AND HARDWOOD to the railing during his test. He dabbed it on lightly and rubbed very gently with a paper towel. ...he did not describe to me, when asked, HOW she cleaned the railings. ...he told me the name of the owner of Simply Clean Chicago was Odetta, although the website shows her as a Scheduling Manager at another branch of the company, and no one else, especially someone claiming to be an owner, has attempted to contact me or resolve the problem. ...he twisted the information about the cleaning person arriving late. I stated it as a fact, not as a complaint. My complaint was that we waited 2 hours for he and the cleaning lady to arrive for our subsequent appointment. It also was not raining on the day she was scheduled to arrive, although some backroads were still closed from previous storms. ...his reviewing of the time line and the statements made are his misperceptions of what happened and when. My description of the time line and what happened is perfectly logical and 100% honest and accurate. ...he offered to refund some of the money paid for the poor cleaning, so apparently Simply Clean DOES have a refunding policy. ...his offer to reclean the house came after my wife had spent considerable time and energy recleaning everything. Who needed them at that time? ...he must have forgotten that some other reviews on Angie's List are actually complaints similar to this one. ...his "insinuation" that we would claim damages that were not caused by their company was a major embarassment and insult to us. I have other eyewitnesses, including another contractor, who saw the wood just days before the cleaning occurred. He missed that fact also. ...since both he and the cleaning person speak English, why was it necessary for them to speak in a foreign language while conversing in front of my wife and me about what happened? Any prudent person would assume they didn't want us to know what they were talking about. Why? As stated earlier, I am only seeking repair of the railings damaged. Nothing more, nothing less.

It went ok -- I guess I expected a whole lot more for the price. The cleaner came and did an average job -- but it seemed that she did not look behind doors, under couches etc. Perhaps my expectations were askew, but for a $225 price vs. an average $95 price point (previous cleaner), I expected more. Overall = disappointed.
