Showalter Roofing Service

Showalter Roofing was one of three roofing contractors that I contacted for estimates on a complete tear-off and re-roofing job on my house. Although the company representative was very professional and Showalter has a good reputation, their estimate was the highest of the three contractors and I decided to give the job to another company.

Salesperson was very friendly, very professional. Overall excellent experience. The only reason we didn't consider them was that they were at least 3,000.00 more than other contractors. Other than the price I would certainly have gone with them because of the professionalism. They had by far the most comprehensive, detailed bid.

When they looked at the roof they found it only needed a patching, not an entire replacement of the roof. They did a good job. We called them to come back out to check it again because we found some shingles on the ground again. They came out and took a look for free, ended up not being our roof.

They were fine. They came out, looked at our house and gave me a quote at a timely fashion.

From beginning to end, the team at Showalter was extremely professional, punctual, polite, and just all-around great to work with. I have nothing but high praises for this company, and will plan to use them when we are going to complete our roof work.

The provider did nothing. I did not get a return phone call.

No one showed or called on 2/1. It was snowing, so I figured that they might not come, but no one called to cancel or reschedule. In fact, no one has contact me since. The other roofing company I contacted came out when scheduled last Saturday, in the snow. Again, I know it was snowing and I know people are having a lot of issues due to cold and snow, but the lack of courtesy to me shows me that they do not want my business. Update--after I posted this review I got a call from the company. The man who called (I didn't catch his name since my daughter was trying to get my attention) apologized profusely. He explained that while it was not an acceptable excuse, he did not put my appointment in his calendar. He reiterated that he knew that was not acceptable and apologized again but just wanted to let me know what happened. I really appreciate him taking the time to call me to let me know what happened. This weather has been rough on so many things/people. He offered to set up another time to come check the roof, but I have already chosen another company.

Jeff came out to assess the problem and provide the estimate. He came out the same day that I called. He was extremely thorough, went into the attic and on the roof to get a clear understanding of where the leak was coming from. He was polite and very professional. I agreed to have the work done that he suggested and the repair was completed 4 days later.

I called Showalter at 1:30 on a Saturday and received a call back around 2:15. The person I talked to when I initially called was extremely friendly and said that someone would call me back that afternoon. At 2:15 or so, Jeff called me back and talked to me for at least 15 minutes regarding the issue I was having and explained some potential causes (condensation, roof issues). He was very helpful and thoroughly explained everything. He said he would come out on Monday to check it out for free (it was too late in the day on a Saturday, which I totally understand since I called them in the afternoon). He went to my house around 9 am on Monday and then let me know that there didn't appear to be any issues with the roof and that the cause of the leak was probably due to snow blowing in a roof vent or condensation in my attic. I sincerely appreciate the honesty (he could've said that something was wrong and then did an unnecessary repair, but he didn't). I also really appreciate the responsiveness. The next time I have a roof issue or when the time comes to get a bid on a new roof, I will for sure call this company! Thanks!

They did a neighbors roof and left a brochure / card on my doorstep. I was in the process of looking for a roofer to do a tear off and new roof for house/garage/shed. I called and got a voice mail during a business day. Got a call back and estimator agreed to come out in two days. Next day I get a call from office and they had no knowledge of my previous conversation. They then say guy will call me back. Get a call next day and guy agrees to come out 5 days later. I had explained I wanted to do this now before weather got bad - so I delayed my decision on a roofer so they could come out. Guy comes out - I get emailed detailed quote two days later and it's 4 grand more than the next highest of several quotes I had. They never followed up with a call or email to even attempt to explain why so much more. Now they did do what appears to be an excellent job on my neighbors house but it is no better than the roof that I got put on my place from another roofer for many thousands less than they quoted me.

They were great. The estimator arrived promptly, gave a competitive quote, and the follow up on the service was fast and professional. I would definitely recommend them.

Estimate was delivered immediately after an on-time appointment. Repairs authorized were performed the next day and only the desired services were provided. No upsell.

Jeff Rosier the account executive showed up on time for the estimate, and he was very professional about his approach to the leaking problem we were experiencing. The best part of the appointment, he walked the roof with me and described the trouble areas on the roof. He pointed out several areas that could be causing the problem. He suggested that maybe some caulk will fix the problem. It rained 2 days later and No Leak! I understand the problem may be bigger, and they will definitely get my business when the time comes or need a new roof. Jeff went well above the other roofing estimators, and I would recommend Showalter to others in a heart beat. Thanks again and I will keep your card and call you, when the time comes.

Showalter is a great company to work with. We worked with Jeff to determine the scope and cost of the work to be performed. Jeff was very knowlegable and made many great suggestions that made the end product turn out so great. I needed the project completed by a certain date and they made sure it was scheduled and completed on time. The crew that was out was great. Dave was on site during the replacement. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was done the way it should be. The roof turned out great. I would recommend Showalter to anyone. They are honest and really take pride in their work.

I messaged Showalter because they were close to my house and I had a small repair, 1 missing shingle and about 15 or so missing small edge cap shingles that blew off in a storm. The owner responded to my message (this is not a one man company), told me to call the office to schedule an appointment and if I had any trouble to call him and he gave me his cell. I then called to schedule to have them look at my roof; scheduling was easy. Jeff came out while I was at work to look over my roof. It is 18 years old. He promptly sent me a nice proposal with lots of pictures for the shingle replacement and he told me the flashing on the vents also needed to be replaced which I could tell was true with the pictures he provided. I wasn't prepared to pay the amount in the bid, so we did some back and forth e-mails on the cost. All I can say is that their final proposal was too good to print here. They are a true stand up company, I can't say enough. The next Monday they came and did the job while I was at work and I didn't even know they were there. Looking at my roof, they managed to do a good job matching 18 year old shingles even though they warned me they may not match. Company's like Showalter don't come around too often, I can highly recommend them and I will certainly be calling them when my roof needs replacement. Thanks Showalter!

Mostly went well. Had issues with mess made and left in home during tear out due to inadequate preparation being done. Company responded quickly but as it could not be until the next morning I did most of the cleanup myself. The estimator and my spouse had different recollections of the conversation regarding the color of the cladding on the windows on the outside of the house which they replaced. In the end, we believed that it was obvious that the windows on the second floor being replaced would be the same color as the windows on the first floor of the house. The end result was that they gave us a couple of options, which ended up being that we had to have them painted later, by our painter, but paid for by them. This was a much more major issue for us and we did not feel this was the appropriate response to the situation.

Nothing really stands out as particularly good or particularly bad. They did what they said they were going to do, they were in and out very quick.

The estimate was within reason and the service was scheduled at my convenience. The day of the work everything went very quickly. The noise was less than I expected and the repairs were done in the time frame I was given. I am very pleased with the work.

They are very responsive and professional. Matt is our contact and he is great. He makes sure crew is out there and gets job done. They send pics and keep us updated.

Great company to do business with. The home inspector even stated that they did a great job on our roof.
