SELECT ELECTRICAL

All work was done in a timely fashion and to my satisfaction. This was the 4th time I have had Dan Mitchell/Select Electrical do work in my house and I will continue to call him when I need any electrical work to be done.

It went really well. He did very good work. He contacted me right away and was very flexible in scheduling. He found and fixed a few issues that need some attention, as well as installed a security light. I'd say his pricing was very fair in terms of the quality of his work. He was very professional and thorough, and I feel very secure that he fixed some shorts that could have ended up badly for me.

Our house had a gas stove when we moved in, but I got tired of it. I had had electric all my life, so I finally decided to change. Unfortunately, there was no existing electric line, so we needed to have one installed. Dan was one of 3 estimates we had, and he was by far the lowest. He had high marks from Angie's customers, and also offered a coupon. He was punctual for the estimate, as well as for the job. He didn't waste any time, and cleaned up when finished. We were very pleased, and would call him again.

The microwave and several outlets were not working. The representative found a short in one of our outlets that was causing all of our issues. It was fixed in a matter of minutes and we have had no problems since.

Dan showed up when he said he would and completed the job to my satisfaction. The new chandelier was missing a few screws but Dan figured out a solution. I also have a very tight entryway and he had a solution for that too. Since hanging the chandelier, Dan has been back to do several more electrical jobs. He has hung a new ceiling fan, installed an outlet in our basement and fixed an electrical outlet. Dan is very professional and an excellent electrician.

Dan's a busy man but he was pretty responsive during the process. I contacted him through Angie's List and he responded right away and after a few back and forth e-mails we decided on the work with a very clear indication of the cost. What made me choose Dan for our work was the extensive experience he came with. He showed up this afternoon around 2.00pm and left at about 10.00 pm after a very hard day of completing our jobs. To start off (as he had already anticipated) a key part of our chandelier was missing and he was innovative enough to come up with a solution that worked perfectly. That is superior customer service?whatever it takes to help the customer out. He took extreme care to instal the crystals and the chandelier looks terrific. The fan swap also was a very smooth execution. At the end we are very happy customers and thought Dan was professional, experienced and dependable. We would hire him back for electrical jobs in a heartbeat and recommend him for work too. While some people may think of him as expensive the quality of his services will bear out the cost. Good work costs money and this was worth it. Highly recommended and would definitely hire him back for electrical work.

He came out and rewired a light switch in our bathroom He rewired it back to the way it was. He was very professional and his rate was very reasonable.

Very nice gentleman. Had him come out because we've had several partial power outages and dimming lights. He checked our circuit breaker box and said it looked good. Then he checked to make sure there was power to each of our outlets. And that was it. I had to have another electrician come to tell me that our service line wires were bare and a serious fire hazard. Those were replaced. And the breakers were all needing to be tightened ALOT, which they did also. | |So the reality is that, while a very nice man, after having spent $100, nothing was fixed, and I had to have another electrician come out to diagnose and correct the problem.

Due to busy schedules between us and Dan, it did take a while for us to connect, however, once we were able to meet with Dan and discuss the specifics of the job, the work progressed quite quickly. Over two afternoons, Dan removed the non-code compliant wiring, tapped a new circuit in the attic crawl space and ran the appropriate rigid conduit to our bathroom light fixtures and ventilation fan. All work was neat and tidy and works perfectly. Dan was a very personable and easy to work with and I would, indeed, hire him again for future electrical jobs, if needed.

He showed up as scheduled, performed a few outside tasks, came in asked a few questions and then went t the panel did a thorough check on its functionability. Supplied us with his professional and expert opinion...DID NOT TRY TO SELL US SOMETHING WE DIDNT NEED TO MAKE A BUCK....He was very honest and upfront...would use him again....

He found and repaired the problem quickly and noted a few items for us to look into. I would use Select Electric again.

It went very well. I was pleased their services. The owner was very knowledgeable and I felt very confident in using him.

That was helpful. They came out and there were some recommendations that they gave us quotes for, and eventually we hired them to do the work. They came out immediately. They seemed to know what they were doing. They gave recommendations without pushing them. That is exactly the service I wanted.

His service is great and we are pleased with his work.

I called Dan in the afternoon and left a message. He returned my call that afternoon. I explained to him that I needed my two outside GFI outlets replaced. He said that he would come over to my house about 7:00 PM that evening to replace the outlets. He arrived on time and within 20 minutes had replaced both the outlets.He was friendly and professional. I would definitely consider hiring him again.

Came over same day, very efficient.

The whole installation process was excellent. Dan showed up on time and completed all work as promised. We will definitely use Dan and Select Electric again for our electrical needs. We have also referred Dan to a neighbor who is having an above ground swimming pool put in.

We had no power in half our house. There was a bad electrical connection somewhere. He came, diagnosed and fixed the problem right away.

The service was great. I had no problems with them at all. They came out, did the work, honored the coupon, and were very professional.

Our oven stopped working so we called an appliance repairman. He discovered the problem was electrical in nature so we found Dan on Angie's List. Had to leave a message since he answers his own calls. He returned my call later that day and was able to come out the following day. Dan came out when he said he would, discovered some additional issues with our wiring aside from the oven problem and fixed them promptly. Before he pulled out our wall oven he wanted to be sure to protect our hardwood floors so he asked if I had cardboard to lay on the floor. He really seemed to respect our home and cleaned up after the job was done.

Dan returned my voice mail message promptly and came to my home. He completed several small electrical repairs in a timley manner. One repair needed more time, so he returned the next day to complete it. All of my electrical problems were resolved! He was punctual, called to alert me he was coming, and was very pleasant to be around. I will most definitely use him again and will recommend him highly.

Dan has been great - he returns calls within the same day, schedules very quickly, and always shows up in the timeframe promised. He is very friendly, efficient and professional, and explains options well so that you can make the best possible decision. We plan on using his service for future projects.

We were stumped as to how to resolve an outlet problem. He said he would explore some ideas he had and would get back to us. He has since contacted us (10/27/12) with positive solutions for this problem and he will begin the job shortly.

Dan was thorough and helpful in coming up with cost saving ways to do the job without impacting quality. He had unique solutions to difficult problems.

the job in our bedroom went ok. i did have to notch the wall studs for the bx cable and put a nailing plated over the space before the drywall could be repaired. i also had to move one of the wall boxes out towards the drywall so the fixture would attach. the second job was completed while i was out of town. Don ran the conduit through the dining room wall to the outside of my garage wall and down the wall back into the dining room outlets which was ridiculous. the setup was a path way for cold air to get to the fixture and outlets. I asked don to come back and the conduit to the inside of the wall. he showed up about a week later and did put it in the wall but wanted an additional $165.00. don also charged my wife almost double for the dining room because he had to run a line to a wall switch which was very high. none of this would have happened if i had been here because i know better, so women beware. Regardless of his response i could not recommend his services.
