SELECT ELECTRICAL

Just moved into our new (old) house and through Angie's list we bought a whole house inspection certificate with Select Electrical. We knew our house needed work upgrading its electrical system but thankfully it wasn't as bad as expected. Dan explained to us that we didn't need to change any wiring. Seeing we had an old panel we decided on changing that. Dan performed the job nicely, and i will hire him for future upgrades.

Dan was professional, knowledgable, and friendly. He had given me options with what he had to work with and allowed me to choose the best option.

Kind explanation although a report itself is simple.

Dan was great! I originally chose him due to his outstanding reviews on Angie's List. We purchased our home at the end of 2013 and knew were not sure of some of the electrical done on the property. Many of the outlets weren't functional and most recently the dimmer in our dining room went out as well. Dan showed up promptly to our home where I guided him on some of our issues. He was able to decifer that most of our first floor, a garage outlet and two of the outside plugs which are on opposite sides of the house are on one breaker had gone out. This specialty breaker had been tripped and needs to be reset on its own. Dan educated me on how to do this if it happens in the future as well as to just watch it for repetitive issues, which could mean it would need to be replaced. He was very forthcoming in letting me know that he wasn't finding any major problems during his routine inspection that we paid for and that everything as far as the electrical was pretty solid. This was a relief, but even more of a relief that I had found someone so trustworthy into my home!!! While the dining room was an easy fix it was something he was nice enough to repair that day. Dan has many years of experience and was great to work with. I will be keeping his number handy for the future! Thanks, The Wife :)

He came out about 3:30 in the afternoon, and he finished up about an hour after dark. The price was quite reasonable.

Dan came out on the same day as I called for an emergency where a ceiling fan had dropped down from the ceiling. He not only fixed it, but put parts in it that weren't in there from the initial installer that he got from his truck. He also replaced a light plate. He was very friendly, and enjoyed working with him.

Dan has worked tirelessly, sometimes for a couple of weeks at a stretch, meticulously unraveling the complex mess that is my house wiring. I contacted him after giving up on a different electrician who just couldn't figure it out. He always tries to keep my costs down by not doing unnecessary work, yet fixing the problems I need dealt with. He really knows his stuff! Also, he is really personable and accommodating, coming back this most recent time a second trip at no charge to switch out a light fixture I decided I didn't like after it was installed. He is totally professional, answers calls immediately and keeps his appointments. Being a widow who lives alone, I need someone I can trust and rely on. Dan Mitchell fills that bill perfectly!

H The job took two days. The first day he was 45 minutes late and took 1 hour to put a small hole in our wall where the switch was to be installed. The second day, he was 45 minutes late and worked for 4 and a half hours to install this switch. Made quite a mess drilling into the plaster wall of our older house and did not clean up at all. The work is fine but he did not clean up and had no respect for our time. I won't be using him again.

As always Dan is on schedule, does a clean job and completes work in time!

Provider came to house on Sunday to place estimate of installation. Installed Monday. Finished Tuesday.

I replied to the online ad, thinking that vetted companies would be better. Over the years we had built up a punchlist of small electrical repairs and projects to get done around the house and wanted them all done at once. The serviceman replied promptly to the online submission, but the appointment was a few days out (no big deal, I thought; busy is good!). When he came, however, he seemed almost perturbed at the list of things I gave him. He checked around and said he would get back to me with a quote. A day went by, then two, then a week -- I got busy and never followed up. Meanwhile I gave him $99 for basically NOTHING.

I sent an email request through Angie's List to get a quote to install a bathroom fan in an upstairs bathroom that never had one. Dan emailed back and called very quickly. He also came to my house within hours of the request. When he arrived he was friendly and looked at the bathroom where we wanted the fan and asked questions. He quoted what I thought was a fair price. Once I got the quote I asked a few clarifying questions so I knew what to expect. In my request I stated it needed ductwork run outside as and asked if that was included. His response was that there was no need to run ductwork outside as it would just allow cold air to get back in. He said he would just vent it in the attic and when it was windy, the vents in the attic would allow air to flow and dry it out. That is where he lost me. That is incredibly wrong and would cause much bigger and more expensive problems down the road. The service and response was great, but I can't trust the work will be done correctly.

Called twice and left messages asking to set an appointment to install a ceiling fan. Never received a call back.

It was a home inspection. He did everything from GFI plugs to rewiring under the sink. He was reasonably priced and knowledgeable. He was on time and on target.

Dan call me back the same day that I contacted him. He asked several questions in order to understand the scope of the job, gave me an estimated price for that type of job (replacing an attic fan) and agreed on a date to come. The day before he called and asked if he could stop by to further scope out the job, he arrived when he said he would and made sure he knew the extent of the job. This took about 10 minutes. On the day of the job he did call and let me know he would be running about 45 minutes late and would that be OK, it was and he arrived at said time.Dan was pleasant to deal with, efficient, clearly explained the problem and what he had to do to fix it. He went about the job quietly and quickly. The price was very close to the estimate. I am very please with the work and his results and he is in by "electrician" file for any further work I will need done Thanks Dan!

He was very nice, I liked him, but I ended up going with someone else for a different reason. Everything was good with the inspection. I would recommend them. I would have called him back if it wasn't for the other thing that came up. I double checked the price he gave me, and he was in line with what everyone else was charging.

I hadn't yet made an appointment when he called and asked if I would like him to come over immediately. That was great. When he arrived he asked if I had some specific concerns, which I did. He had to go down in my crawlspace to check out some wires I was worrying about, but he never hesitated or complained. He saw them, instantly knew the story on them and relieved me of a worry that had been nagging at me for the last 4 years. I also had a continuing problem with a ceiling light, and once again he knew exactly what was wrong. I was satisfied with his call, but he said, no, let him do a more thorough inspection, which he did. He was very personable, efficient, and extremely knowledgable. I was totally satisfied and felt like I more than got my money's worth.

They came right away and did a good job. It was a simple operation and a minor service call. They were courteous and professional, and I was very satisfied with the work.

Dan responded promptly to my request for quote, then schedule the work promptly, as well. The work was done over two consecutive days, and was done well. Good value overall. I would definitely use Select Electrical again.

All work was done in a timely fashion and to my satisfaction. This was the 4th time I have had Dan Mitchell/Select Electrical do work in my house and I will continue to call him when I need any electrical work to be done.

It went really well. He did very good work. He contacted me right away and was very flexible in scheduling. He found and fixed a few issues that need some attention, as well as installed a security light. I'd say his pricing was very fair in terms of the quality of his work. He was very professional and thorough, and I feel very secure that he fixed some shorts that could have ended up badly for me.

Our house had a gas stove when we moved in, but I got tired of it. I had had electric all my life, so I finally decided to change. Unfortunately, there was no existing electric line, so we needed to have one installed. Dan was one of 3 estimates we had, and he was by far the lowest. He had high marks from Angie's customers, and also offered a coupon. He was punctual for the estimate, as well as for the job. He didn't waste any time, and cleaned up when finished. We were very pleased, and would call him again.

The microwave and several outlets were not working. The representative found a short in one of our outlets that was causing all of our issues. It was fixed in a matter of minutes and we have had no problems since.
