Quality 1 Heating and Cooling

With the heating season coming on soon, I decided to evaluate my current boiler due to its age. While it did provide heat, I was aware that it was not very efficient and it seemed to have some issues. I sought some recommendations and reached out to Quality 1 HVAC at (630) 544-6123 and spoke with Fran. Fran was very professional and we scheduled an appointment that fit in with my busy schedule. Fran arrived on time along with Cliff - who is a technician to - assess the condition of my boiler and discuss options. Cliff is VERY knowledgeable and friendly and not only confirmed my fear that the boiler I had was beyond its useful life, he also pointed out that my hot water heater was dated (20+ years) and Quality 1 suggested I consider a combined on-demand boiler/hot water system from Navien. I was a little skeptical as I had heard mixed reviews about on-demand systems (and was not even aware they make such systems for hot water boilers) but Quality 1 provided spec sheets on the system. After some thought (the system is a little more pricey than a standard boiler) I determined to move forward, given the high efficiency of the unit (95+%) and the projected savings in energy - as well as the increased value of my home with a new, high-efficiency on-demand system. Quality 1 advised that it would considerable time to do the job right- guesstimated at about 2 and 1/2 days. (The job was actually completed in just two days.) Quality 1 made sure to leave the hot water tank hooked up after day one so that my family could still take hot showers the next day. Quality 1 ended up being a life-saver. During the removal of the old boiler, it was discovered that the system return pipe had rotted out and had I started the system up this upcoming winter season - there is a definite probability that there would have been a steam explosion at worst, or a major basement flood at best as water would have poured out of the system. (Thank you Quality 1.) Upon completion of the second day, the system was checked and adjusted to make sure that everything was adjusted ad working properly. Quality 1 also came back 2 days later to confirm that everything was in order and that we were happy with the product and work. Happy is an understatement. The new system is literally a piece of art (crazy, but the work actually has me excited - take a look at the photos). The copper tubing is laid out smartly and efficiently and the lines are true - none of the haphazard layouts I’ve seen in the past (and with my old system). Although when I was pricing the system it was a little more than I had originally anticipated in spending when considering a new system, in the end I think I got a great deal. This system and the install work was definitely worth the price. It was installed correctly and conscientiously. The installation crew were courteous and clean and seemed to genuinely care about the work they were doing. Quality 1 did the work for the quoted amount and I can only say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Quality 1 HVAC for any and all of your HVAC needs.
