Our 6 month old chair and 1/2 was tearing at the back seams on both sides. Gus was incredibly polite from the beginning. I explained to him our issue over the phone and he asked me to send him a picture of the tearing via cell phone. He returned my call almost immediately and we set up the appointment at a time that was convenient. He arrived promptly and got right to work. We have a 3 yo boy who Gus was very sweet with. It took him less than an hour to hand-sew the chair and the results were perfect. He even triple-checked his work space for needles as he was worried for the safety of our son. I kept his card as we will definitely use him again for any future furniture repairs.

On 5/28/2014 I brought in a set of chair cushions and backs from my summer home to be replaced. The owner seemed kind and helpful. He helped me pick out a great fabric that would match some of my other furniture quite well. He said it would take about 4 to 5 weeks. We were to go back to our summer home on 7/28/14 and he assured me that he would have them ready in plenty of time. I was pleased so gave him a generous deposit. (More than half of the cost and more than he had asked for.) Well, several weeks went by and no word at all on my cushions. I finally called him on 7/18/14 . He seemed quite put out that I was calling him. He said that they weren't ready and promised me that he would have them the next week by 7/25/14. I stressed the importance of completion by then as we would be leaving. He said he would have them done, and actually told me not to call him back, he would call me! I felt that he was quite rude. 7/25 came and no word, so I called him. They weren't even started and he could now have them by 7/30/14! He claimed that he was sent the wrong fabric last week and had to re-order it. Last week!? Now, in all of that time, he couldn't call me and keep me informed? I was quite upset and asked for and got my deposit back.
Description of Work: He did nothing. Did not do the work as promised. I got my deposit back.

It went well. Gustav gave some new life to some very tired cushions. He was very knowledgeable about the products and services he provided.
