Energy Services professionally handled the call, explained that there would be an extra service charge for it being Saturday and promptly sent out a technician. He diagnosed the problem as a gas valve that needed to be replaced. He did not have one for my particular model on hand, but located a store in Aurora that had the part and rushed over to get it before they closed. He performed the repair and additional maintenance. He was courteous and professional. I don't have a cost basis for comparison to know whether or not this price was a good one for the repair done, but I didn't have the luxury of time to get multiple estimates.

Jeff was on time. He performed the service very efficiently and fully explained what he did.

I called Energy Services because they offered The Big Deal on Angie's List and our daughter had used them and found them satisfactory. David arrived on time on November 11, 2011, and thoroughly vacuumed and checked out the furnace. He also put in a new humidifier pad that we had purchased. He said everything was fine -- furnace was working properly and there was no water leaking from the humidifier. He was correct. However, later I went into the basement and discovered about a dozen black streaks, like heel marks, on the vinyl flooring near the furnace. I figured it wasn't from shoes (he had booties on) but was from the tool box he used. I cleaned them up, no big deal, but maybe it's something for the techs to watch out for. Later on, I heard loud whistling whenever the blower came on (this was on Friday night) so Monday I called the office to have it looked at. The furnace worked fine so it wasn't an emergency. The next day Chris came out to investigate and found the whistling was from air blowing through the blower door and after he adjusted it silence reigned. Problem solved. Overall, I'm satisfied with their service and have signed up for a spring checkup on the A/C system at the special Angie's List rate. I'd also call them for service if the furnace develops trouble this winter.

Jeff was very professional, very congenial, "tidy" about his work, knowledgeable about equipment, and helpful with instructions regarding maintenance.

The service went well overall. The air conditioning was cool again by the evening. I did have a coupon, but was told it would be cheaper if I got the "service plan". The price was higher than I had expected, but fairly reasonable considering there will be another service included. The serviceman used the hose from my sprinkler in the yard. It would have been appreciated if he had hooked it back up before leaving. Overall happy, and would call them again.

They were here as scheduled, did a good job on the inspection, and were very neat about their work in our house. We have used them for one year now for both heating inspections and A/C inspections and they have been outstanding in all respects. I would recommend them to anyone.

This is the second time we are using the services of this company. As a matter of fact, when we used them in Spring, we had payed for the yearly maintenance service they offer - that means this time around we didn't have to pay anything for the service. I didn't even have to call the company and remind them about the deal, they called me and we set up an appointment. Last time we got Brian. This time Jeff came and he was just as professional and good as Brian was! He also took the time to explain to us what his conclusion was and took time to do a really good cleaning of the AC/Heating system. I was very impressed with both technicians. I will definitely use this company again. Actually, we believe we have found the company we should stick with for any AC/Heating service. Thank you so much again for a great job!

I've used couple other companies over the past year for regular season maintenance on my furnace and ac units. So far GFI has been the most professional and knowledge group of people.Very pleased with tehir field technicians very professional and knowledgeable. They are my set service provider

We shopped around for quite some time for a new furnace and AC. The people at GFI had a lot of patience, knowlege, and professionalism. After several visits from various dealers, we went with GFI. Since then, they have maintained our system and been very responsive on any calls and questions we have had. They are punctual and profession, and the people are very nice. I would suggest anyone looking for new equipment or any maintenance give these people a call

GFI was on the job early in the day as promised, with a team of four workers, they did the entire job, were respectful & tidy. I highly recommend GFI. Cleaned up & gone by mid afternoon.

Was going well until technician decided to "check" the main furnace. During that he determined my blower motor was bad and needed to be replaced. Wrote up an estimate for roughly $750. Something didn't seem right. Told him I would call him if I needed him. Had another service person evaluate the problem and he fixed the blower motor for $300. Also on original service call from GFI there was a coupon for money off the first service call---they never decucted that amount.

We decided to have the AC checked before getting it started for summer. We really liked the company. Brian came out at exactly the time he promised and took time to clean the AC unit and to explain to us ways to save on using the AC. The experience with the company was great! We are planning to use it again in the future. As a matter of fact we already signed up for their twice a year cooling and heating system checkup! Great job, Brian! The service and installation was excellent. A great company to hire, competitive and knowledgeable.

Our A/C failed during the very first hot days and we were concerned since our house faces South and we have a 14 months Baby. Despite the fact they were extremely busy, Energy Services came the same day and fixed our A/C in a very short time and gave us precious pieces of advice. We use them for the regular maintenance of our furnace and A/C and would recommend them anytime

I was always pleased with the service I received from them and they continued to maintain my heating and air needs until I moved out of state.

GFI sent a technician to take a look, but my phone conversation about the radiant floor system interested the owner enough that he came out to take a look as well. GFI found the radiant heat system in good shape, but it needed some modifications in the intake area. The water heater had developed cracks due to rust, and the piping wasn't to code as well. They installed a larger capacity water heater than we had before, brought the gas piping to code, fixed the input piping to the radiant heat system, installing a mixing valve and added a thermostat. The water heater portion of the job was approximately $1000 in line with another estimate we got and the rest about $500. Scheduling both the initial visit and the follow up was painless and we found all four GFI technicians who were involved in the work over the two visits highly professional and their work impeccable. After installing the water heater etc., they waited to check that everything was working well, and answered all the questions we had, in depth. GFI provided exceptional service and value for the money we spent.

Entire experience was terrific from the initial contact to set an appointment for an estimate, meeting with Brian in Sales & Service for the estimate, to the actual installation of the a/c unit by Jeff & Ken. Brian listened to our complaints about the old A/C (Note: the old a/c unit was NOT installed by GFI), fully explained our options & made recommendations. The price was about what we expected. Within one week from the estimate being provided & accepted the new A/C unit was installed. Jeff & Ken, the installation guys showed up early & finished well ahead of anticipated schedule. Before they went to work they laid down drop cloths so as not to track any dirt into the house. They were very extremely professional. They answered any questions I had. They even went above & beyond by checking my dryer vent to see if it was clogged. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

I already had 2 estimates but wanted a third. I decided to sign up with Angie’s list and found GFI Heating and Cooling which were top rated. I called and made an appointment for an estimate. When Brian came to give me an estimate he was very knowledgeable about the products he was selling and covered everything in detail. Brian had thoroughly answered a couple of questions I had remaining which left me at ease with GFI. Brian also explained that GFI was NATE certified which made me feel even more confident that the systems would be installed correctly. The price was very competitive and he took the time to explain all the rebates that were available. They started early at the agreed upon time the day of the installation and I left them to their work. I believe it was a pretty straight forward project for them and they finished sooner than I expected. To get this all done in one day was great. Upon completion Brian walked me through the programmable thermostats and we took a look at the furnace and a/c installation which he answered some final questions I had. I was thoroughly impressed with the workmanship of the installation and I almost forgot to mention that they left the workplace spotless. They have a customer for life.

I received notification from a tenant at one of my investment properties that the furnace was acting up was only moving not warming the air in the house. I called first thing in the morning and set up the logistics for the service man to connect with the tenant. A time frame was given for when the repair man would show and that was met. The technician called and explained the problem in laymen's terms and within a very short period of time between my initial call the problem was solved and I was able to communicate to my tenant the furnace was again in fine working order

I used a coupon from Angie's List. They were professional and did a good job. They were clean and very cooperative. They showed up within the time frame expected. I would recommend them to anyone.

Our furnace actually stopped working sometime in the a.m. on Sunday January 23 (the day of the Bears vs. Packers game). I looked on Angie's List for company's in the area and called GFI Heating and Cooling. An answering machine picked up my call but I received a return call within 10 minutes. I told Jeff the furnace wasn't working and he asked me to describe in detail as much as I could what wasn't working. We determined that our furnace is a York furnace and he could fix it however GFI isn't a York dealer and would have to order the part. Since it was Sunday, no parts dealers were open. He suggested we look in the phone book for a company that advertised being a York authorized user because maybe they would have the parts in stock at their company. He said he was on a job in Naperville but would call us back when he finished to see if we still needed help. We called two places that advertised in the yellow pages as being York parts authorized companies. Neither of these companies is on Angie's List. The first person I called said he didn't have the parts and couldn't get them until Monday, he offered no other solutions and seemed grumpy. The second person didn't have the parts either and proceeded to quote me exorbitantly high prices if we wanted him to come out Sunday to diagnose the problem and also told us if it was the circuit board it would cost around $600.00 just to replace that. We told him no, we wouldn't need him to come out at all. Sure enough Jeff did call us back and we told him what the other two people had told us. He said he would be willing to stop by and take a look at it, but said if we could tough it out until Monday he would tell his office to put us first on the list for someone from their company to come out. We have a fireplace we kept going all night and borrowed a couple of electric heaters from some friends so we were o.k. until Monday morning. Jeff had been extremely nice on the telephone, but I was up early so at 7:15 I called GFI myself. Amy answered the phone and told me she had just talked with Jeff and he had told her our problem and they would have someone to our house between 8 - 8:30 a.m. Brian arrived at 8:15 a.m., young guy, very nice, put on his protective booties as soon as he entered the house. Went down stairs and confirmed the problem and the parts he would need to fix the furnace, called York service center to tell them what parts he would need and confirm they had them, drove to Addison to pick them up and came back and we had heat by 10 a.m. Hooray! We give GFI Heating and Cooling an A++! The three people we talked with from this company were all excellent! This company knows what customer service is!! Their employees are knowledgeable, courteous, and neat. We highly recommend them!
