Dave's Deck Wash and Staining did a great job! They were prompt with returning our call for an estimate and showing up on time. A year ago we had received a quote from two other venders regarding power washing our decks, pergola and split rail fence. Both were extremely high in price and we elected to hold tight until this spring. (At that time we were not a part of Angiles List). When this spring rolled around we become members of Angies List and found Dave's Deck Wash and he provided us with a quote that we both felt was fair and reasonable. Two weeks later Dave and his crew were out to the house and in two days had cleaned and stained everything listed above. It looks great and they took great care of the vegetation around the deck's. We would highly recommend Dave and his crew. Polite, professional and reasonable priced. On a scale of 1 to 10 we give Dave an 8.5.

I was not home for the washing, if I had been, I would have suggested he get closer to the edge, where there was moss. Dave said he wass afraid of hurting the bushes. Resonable (maybe) On spraying, I would have liked a thicker coat, but I don't know the product, and Dave feels it is adequate. (product has a 10 year warrenty) Over all, I can't give an A + or an A, but I will give an A-

The estimate was quite a bit lower than one estimate I had been given, and a little lower than a second estimate I got a year earlier. He was happy to answer questions. The work was done quickly and thoroughly. The pressure hose was used first to clean the deck. Dave and an assistant came and they were careful. They even removed some furniture on the deck. The cedar deck waterproofer looks good and seems to be working in the rain. The only thing I had to do when they left-besides move back the furniture-was to push back some of the landscape stone around the deck that had been displaced when they pressured washed the railing.

The price they quote me was about $675. I am not going to hire him because what he said was contrary to a lot of other information I read and heard. He said that he was only going to put one coat of staining on the deck because anything else would ruin the deck and that was just contrary to information I got. He also told me that since we previously painted the deck that we never get it looking right. That was rather discouraging. It wasn?t high pressure in a typical way which was pressing you into an immediate decision. It was more of a discouraging kind of meeting and the fact that he said was different from everybody else made me wonder about his skill.

Dave was very responsive to phone calls and quickly came out to do a quote. He power washed and stained our cedar fence and a Rainbow swing set. He also power washed our paver patio to remove the moss, then filled it with polymeric sand and sealed it. He communicated when the team would be delayed (due to rain/weather), did a great job and was easy to work with. We will definitely use again and would recommend to anyone.

Dave provided a same-day proposal to do the work. I liked that he was able to do the repair work and also get the powerwashing and staining done. The decks and fence look great after his work. The house had some spots where you could still run your hand across the siding and have dirt rub off on to your hand, so it seems like the siding could have been washed a little more thoroughly. Overall, Dave did a great job.

I called Dave, and he answered the phone (I loved that!) He told me the days that he was available and we agreed on a date. He came that day to power wash the deck and when I arrived home my deck looked like new. We have a cedar deck, and did not have it washed for a few years and it had turned grey- I can't believe Dave and his team were able make it look like new again! He came back that night, so my husband and I could pick out the stain - he was very patient because my husband was running late. Then the next day when I arrived home - the deck was staining and beautiful! We are very pleased with our deck and we will see Dave again when we need the deck cleaned and stained!!!

Dave responded within one hour from leaving a message. He came to provide an estimate 2 hours after that. The work was completed 10 days later. Dave was easy to work with and kept me informed throughout the process. He is polite and capable. A pleasure to work with.

It was awful. He came to my house and told me he was #1 on Angie's List, I didn't know what it meant at the time. I now know there is no #1, but that's what he tells people. I became a member just so I could see what other people were saying about him. Once I got on I saw that it wasn't what he was saying. The deck was already very dark and we had a newly built decking area and some parts were more worn than others so there were three colors of wood. He was supposed to come in and make it all the same. He said he knew exactly which color to use so I trusted that. He looks professional, his trucks are professional and he has a power washing truck. You would think he really knows what he's doing. He power washed it in an hour which is a joke, he should have taken half a day or more if he did it right. He didn't stain it, he put a toner that comes premixed and only comes in 4 colors so you can't color match. He puts it on and leaves that day, my deck was three different colors. I called him and he was awful to deal with. He said that was the way it is. I called the place where he got the toner and they said he should have never used that in the situation I described. I told Dave to call this place with me and he said they didn't know what they were doing like they do. A rep from the company I called came to my house and he looked at it. He couldn't believe Dave did that and he said they would no longer recommend him. He actually paid for the material for Dave to come back out so Dave reluctantly showed up one day to redo the deck. Before he came back I went out and stripped the whole deck, it is a lot of work. He just showed up one morning and an hour and a half later it poured with the type of rain that only comes that hard once or twice a summer. The stuff peeled off. My husband ended up re-staining the deck himself. I don't think he is a terrible person, but he is not capable of learning - you can't tell him anything. I though the price was good at the beginning, but for what you get the price was terrible. We were very calming, but he got very defensive and was yelling at us on our deck. I will never use him again.

Overall experience with Dave was great! Called on a Thursday to schedule an estimate and Dave was willing to come to us on when it was convenient for us on a Sunday morning, which was so much appreciated! He arrived in the morning and quickly gave us an estimate. We agreed that it was only necessary to do the horizontal board on our deck and the vertical posts were all still in great condition. So we had old paperwork around from the last time we had our deck worked on 6 years ago by a different local company, so we reviewed that paperwork to see the brand name and color that was used so that Dave could buy the same thing and match the horizontal boards to the vertical boards. Seemed great, until he bought the stain and we all realized it was not the same as was currently on the deck. The paper work we had from the old company was clearly not what they actually put on. Dave was so helpful and spent a lot on of extra time on Saturday working to figure out what we really on our deck and how to match it. He then came over after he figured out the correct match and painted a couple of boards, we reviewed when we got home later and it looked great. He then came back out on Monday and finished the job. Except for some smudges and some minor unevenness in the coating, the deck looks fantastic and we are very pleased. We'll definitely be calling Dave next summer to help us out with cleaning the deck again so that we can keep it up before our next staining. Thanks again, Dave!

Dave was responsive to phone messages. I don't think he ever answered the phone, but got the message and returned each call promptly. There was some delay in getting the job started due to the wet weather, but once the work was scheduled, they completed the project on time. A couple days after they were done, I notices a few areas that needed touch-up, and they came right back. Dave was very willing to finish the job to my satisfaction. I will use them again when it is time to refinish this deck in a few years.

Dave came over to estimate the job the day after I called him. We discussed what had to be done. He does not replace boards but he recommended a carpenter that would do the work. The project was delayed at this point because the carpenter was out of town, but Dave kept me informed of his status. Once the boards were replaced and the rain stopped, Dave finished the job. The only complaint I had was that paint chips were blown onto my lawn. Dave told me this would happen and that didn't bother me. But I expected that he would cover the flowers, shrubs, etc around the deck to keep the chips out of there. But I didn't ask him to do this and he didn't say he would; I just assumed that would be done. This is a minor quibble. The result was as expected. The price was fair (although I did not get other estimates). The work was done in a timely manner, given the wait for the carpenter. Dave was a pleasure to work with.

I called Dave on a late Friday afternoon and e-mailed him pictures of the decks the next day. He responded promptly and came by Monday morning for a visual inspection and estimate. The job was scheduled quickly and Dave and his crew worked efficiently and independently. They had to deal with some tight spots and hard-to-reach areas. They were fastidious about taking off their shoes anytime they had to come into the house, which was nice of them. The stain looks great - nice and consistent - and I am very happy with the services performed.

Used the email option to make contact and request a quote and they never replied.

Dave was prompt in returning my initial call for an estimate on washing and restaining our deck and gazebo. He also came to our home to give us an estimate soon after I spoke with him. He gave us the location of other homes whose decks he had stained, so that we could drive by the homes and see the quality of his work. My husband and I really liked the fact that Dave was there with his crew during the entire time that the job was done. Prior to and during the job, he showed us the stain that he was using to get our OK, and asked if it met with my approval when they had completed restaining part of deck. The stain color was a near-perfect match to our prior stain (from 2005 or 2006) which is what we had requested. The crew used large pieces of cardboard to protect the shrubs surrounding the deck, which proved to be very effective. We also appreciated their doing a better job on the gazebo roof than the previous contractor had 3 years ago ( he pointed out where they had left trails of dripping paint). Overall, he and his crew did a great job. We highly recommend him.

Dave came over to estimate the job within one day. He came after hours when I could be home from work. His was the lowest of three estimates I received. Although his estimate was not a polished as some of the larger companies, I saved nearly 50% from the highest estimate. He scheduled the work within a week after I gave him the okay. He came out as scheduled to powerwash, them returned 2 days later to stain. The deck looks very good. He also included 2 planter stands without any additional cost. I used another company in the past and cannot say if either did a better job, but I did save quite a bit of money. I would hire him again.
