Dave's Deck Wash And Staining

Dave was very easy to work with, very professional and met with my husband and explained what all he recommended for us. He even provided a few options for us and based on his opinions we decided a couple of the things we thought we needed we actually didn't. We were very impressed by that. The guys that showed up to to the work were on time, very professional as well. They were fast and did a great job. No complaints whatsoever. Will be using them again in the future.

Dave came out and inspected the deck and provided me with a quote, timeline and explanation of what his team would do. The crew came out and prepped the deck and let me know when they would be coming back to do the staining. The day before, they called and said they were moving the date because of the heavy rain that was predicted (and resulted). They called the day before and morning of their work. When finished, they brought me out to inspect the work and let me know how long it should last. They also said to call with any questions or issues. The work was well done and Dave and his team were first class throughout the process answering all my questions and communicating every step of the way. I couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend Dave's Deck Wash to anyone looking to have their deck cleaned and stained.

Dave gave me a quote the very day I first contacted him. We scheduled the work the following week (1 day for cleaning, the next day for staining). I was not present for the work as I felt very comfortable after talking with Dave that he would do a good job. He did an excellent job. The porch/deck looks great; the stain color is perfect (just as he described it) and my husband was impressed that he didn't get a speck of stain on either the adjoining brick wall or driveway.

They did an outstanding job. Dave came ahead of time to give us an estimate, which was extremely reasonable in comparison to the other estimates we received. He and his guys did a great job and we couldn't be happier with their work.

I had my deck stained by an acquaintance, but one year later it was pealing already. It was time to call a pro. Dave is knowledgeable about dealing with the problem, which was a bit unusual. He explained several options, e.g., stripping all of the 1-yr-old stain (lots of work and expense) or how to proceed more frugally. (With such a large deck, there is no inexpensive solution.) As far as I can tell, Dave chose a superior product (my buddy used a Thompson's water seal/stain) because it looks great one year later.

Dave was easy to reach and visited my house to provide a quote. Since the price was acceptable we schedule a date for the next week and everything was completed in no time. Now my deck looks great.

Provided fast turnaround on quote which was accurate. Work was performed in agreed timing and was good quality.

We called Dave on a Sunday to get an estimate to restain our deck. We were having a graduation party on the following Saturday and realized that even after powerwashing our deck, brown stain continued to 'bleed' through -staining people and their clothing. Dave was great - came out the same day (Sunday!), realized the time crunch we were under and took care of us. He rearranged his schedule to rewash our deck on that Monday and stain it on Tuesday. The job was done promptly and professionally and Dave & his crew were fantastic - we'll use them again!

I had a good experience with Dave's Deck Wash and Staining. Dave promptly returned my calls, and arranged to come out for an estimate, to clean and re-stain our cedar decks. It was not the cheapest quote, but generally in the same ballpark as others. I found him to be very knowledgable about the services to be performed, and he answered all of my questions. I decided to chose Dave based on Angie's list recommendations, and his knowledge of the topic. Crew came on day one, and power washed everything to remove the dirt and grime and previous sealer. Day two the crew came back and applied all the stain to the deck. The color matched exactly what was promised. There were a few lighter spots on the decks in very obvious areas...Dave explained that the old cedar boards we had were soaking up a lot of stain, and at different rates depending on the state of the wood, and that it was hard to tell that when everything was still wet. Some of his crew came right back out the next day, no questions asked, and touched up all of the problem areas. I am satisfied with the job they did, and would consider using them again when the time comes.

We had an extremely satisfying experience using Dave to power wash and stain our deck. He responded immediately to our quotation request that we made on his website. He arrived on time for the estimate and after a few quick measurements presented us with a very competitive quote. Dave is very personable and his explanations of the work to be done were easily understandable. Once we made the commitment to use his services he was able to schedule us for the same week. He and his team arrived as promised both the first day for the power washing and then the very next day for the staining. His crew was courteous, neat, and efficient. We are very satisfied with the work that was performed and would highly recommend him to other Angie?s List members.

It was a bit difficult to get the date pinned down, but other than that Dave and his crew was really professional and did a great job. The first day they did the cleaning, the next day the staining. I would highly recommend them.

Dave was very prompt with the response and provided an estimate based upon my schedule flexibility. This was a busy time so the scheduling of the staining was a challenge with the calendar. However, he did accommodate my schedule to stain early in the morning so I could miss minimal work time. Came with a good size crew and finished in about an hour. Good quality work.

Disappointed....Dave was fairly punctual in returning my first phone call, but after giving me an initial quote, I hadn't heard back from him in spite of repeated attempts in reaching out to him for a follow-up question. I guess he doesn't need my business...

I liked the way he described what needed to be done; he kind of gave me an education. He was very knowledgeable about his work. He was very punctual.

We called three different companies on Angie's List and Dave responded the quickest and showed up when the appointment was set. He gave a good estimate and came in at the estimated. We really liked Dave and his crew who were prompt, professional and very nice. They cleaned up well and even liked our dog!

The job was completed on time with no suprizes

Dave was extremely professional, punctual and competent. He responded promptly to my call, came over to provide an estimate and a start date, and then followed through with the washing and staining. He uses a commercial stain (which I assume is a plus), knows his job having done this a long time (18 years, if I remember right), has good people who help on the job and is a part of the crew on every job!! The deck in our home (which we had moved in to recently) had never been treated for 12 years!! As you might expect on such a deck, it had some challenges - rotting boards, mold, moss, etc. Dave's crew came in, did a thorough washing and then returned the next day to stain the deck, which now looks almost brand new. So much so, that a neighbor has now used Dave to stain his entire fence. While everything that Dave did was very efficient and capable, the clincher to striking the deal was the carpenter he recommended to take care of the rotting boards and other areas of the deck that needed some work. Overall, the experience of working with Dave was a very pleasant one and I will not hesitate to use him or recommend him to anyone.

Dave was very nice, and he came out for an estimate and completed the work very quickly. When his crew powerwashed, tiny debris, bits of old stain & dirt, was blown all over our deck box, which had been moved down to the patio. They didn't move the deck box out of range to prevent this, nor did they clean it off when they were finished. I had to scrub it down, not just hose it off, to remove the debris. Also, there were quite a few spots down between the boards where the brush they used didn't reach with the new stain. These bare spots were quite visible. We asked Dave to come back and touch these up. He came back and had his crew run a brush over a couple of these spots. When I pointed out the rest, he replied that it is hard to get down between the boards. I suggested a smaller brush; he said he didn't have one. I asked what stain he'd used, and he was kind enough to leave some with me. I ran a small foam brush along all of the cracks between the boards - this was able to reach down low enough to cover all of the visible areas they had left bare. It took me about 40 minutes to finish the job. Our experience with Dave's Deck Wash was good at the beginning - in the call back, estimate, and job scheduling phase. However, in the end, I wasn't completely satisfied with the work they did and had to finish the touch-ups and clean-up myself.

Contacted Dave on a saturday and he came out for estimate on sunday, we thought the price was fair and were impressed with his promptness, work was scheduled for following thursday, pressure wash crew arrived ,with a trailer mounted tank, we asked what he used for the washing and he told us water and a light chemical that was harmless to vegetation,as such none of the vegetation was covered , unfortunately after two days our newest lilac bush showed signs of sevier leaf wilt . We had selected a light natural cedar finish , once the deck was washed, it was obvious not all of the old finish had been removed ,Dave tried to talk us into a dark brown stain, which we refused.The staining crew arrived on friday consisting of Dave ,his son and two other men, the process was started and halted as the stain was not covering the old stain, we were informed of the fact and asked them to proceed with the original since there was no way to remove the old stain without sanding the entire deck. The staining was finished in about two hours and it was blotchy and mismatched where the old stain encountered,and did not resemble the color we had selected according to Dave the product was still drying and would be closer to the sample chip when dry. After twenty four hours of drying the color was no closer and we started to notice the quality of the coverage was less then professional grade with many areas of no coverage and numerous indications of overspray and excess stain splatter on the adjoining surfaces since nothing had been masked off or shielded. Research with the manufacturer indicates the only proper way to proceed would be to use a chemical stripper or power sanding to remove the old finish before proceeding with the new coverage. We have no faith in the work quality of this company and will not use them again.

Excellent. They did the work when they said they would and the work was done well. Dave was prompt in his visit to give us an estimate and in showing up to do the work. We had to cancel his first scheduled work session on short notice and he handled that graciously, even though I'm sure he didn't have time to arrange replacement work for his crew. They cleaned up after themselves and caused no damage. Dave was knowledgeable about our deck material (Trex). He came out a total of four times for this job: once for the estimate, once for the pressure washing, a third time to put three colors of stain on an inconspicuous part of the fence for us to choose, and the fourth time to do the staining--a lot for $1000 worth of work.

Dave came out to stain our new cedar deck and pergola. He was very responsive and extremely professional from the first time I called him. It took about two weeks to get on the schedule which I expected since we're in the middle of the summer. It's obvious he knows a lot about decks and the different types and qualities of stains. He stained a left over piece of cedar to show how the colors would vary and help us make the best decision. It seems like his pricing is very fair. We have a medium-to-large deck with lattice all the way around and the pergola up top. The deck looks absolutely beautiful. I'll definitely use Dave again.

We never heard back from Dave so we went with someone else who was responsive.

Dave was prompt in returning my call and came out the same day for an estimate. It was reasonable and I accepted. It took about 4 weeks for the work to begin and then it was completed in two days. I was out of town for a week which Dave respected. I've never had a deck re-stained before but I was expecting a better result. The power washing did not seem adequate to remove the previous stain completely so the new stain absorbed into the wood unevenly in my opinion. Sides of deck boards did not get stained and I was told that no one would see them. Dave DID stain my mailbox to match the deck, which I appreciated. Dave stayed on the job site the whole time, but his crew of 3 did 90% of the work. The workers smoked on the job which is not professional. The railings were painted with a flat paint and the deck was stained with a semi-transparent stain. For the clean-up process they used my own hose and water and some stain marked my sidewalk. I will do further research next time I hire a deck maintenance company.

Dave came over and gave us an estimate and explained the procedure. We needed some work on our lattice so he gave us a name of an indivual that he highly recommended. Th person he recommended did terrific work and was extremely reasonable. The deck is fairly large. I am guessing around 600sq. ft. Dave's crew power washed the deck and then came back to stain/seal it and take care of sealing the walkway. They took everything off the deck so we didn't have to lift a finger except to put things back after everything the deck dried. The workmanship was outstanding and very neat. While we knew we could have gotten the work done for less money we felt more comfortable paying for the quality. Dave made sure we were happy with the work before he was paid. Deck looks great. I highly recommend Dave's Deck wash if you are looking for quality work.
