Biango Construction

We met with over 10 different contractors when we began planning for a sunroom addition. The job entailed blowing out the family room wall and building the room within the space of what was at the time extra garage space. Every contractor came in at least 10-15k OVER our budget, and some even said it wasn't possible, don't even consider it. Nick from Biango Construction wrote up a very fair proposal and stuck with the budget. My husband, to be honest, was not as eager as I was to pursue the project, so he asked Nick a lot of hard questions about the specifics of the addition -- how much higher the ceilings could be made, how much duct work, if any, would need to be moved around, and how we would seamlessly build a transition from our family room into the addition. Nick patiently addressed every single one of his concerns, and we were able to confidently proceed with the project. We pulled permits and Nick did not voice any objection to this (unlike MANY MANY MANY other contractors we've come across). I would say he was personally on site for 80-90% of the job, and the other times one or both of his two main assistants were there (Danny and Joel). I don't know how to put this without sounding impolite, but he and his crew speak perfect English. It was easy to communicate what we wanted and didn't want, which led to a positive outcome for all parties. The crew worked through the winter to complete the job. They set up barriers to minimize the amount of dust and debris in our garage and house. They were responsive to our on-the-fly changes/requests, such as figuring out a way to move the electrical and cable wires to a different wall -- the day AFTER drywall was put up! The project had unepexcted obstacles, but Nick has a real knack for problem solving that helped us solve each problem. Nick is a carpenter by trade, so he was able to cut some costs for us by custom building things, such as a custom built in bookshelf, which friends and family compliment us for everytime they see it. He also came up with an inexpensive way to install a beautiful paneled ceiling with beadboard, that really gives the room a unique look. His painter Ozzy and his crew are awesome, respectful, and clean. We didn't have any problems with any of the subs used for our project (HVAC, electrical, and drywall). We look forward to working with Nick and Biango Construction for our future projects!

Biango Construction performed high quality work on the installation of my new deck and gazebo. Nick was great in understanding what we wanted and then translating it into drawings and construction. His crew was very friendly and professional. After work was completed each day, the work area was cleaned by the team. They worked with the city on all permits and did a great job understanding what the city inspector requirements were. I would hire them again and would highly recommend them.

Still in progress and it looks awesome. Nick had some really great ideas for what to do in the different areas, and good solutions when a few of my ideas didn't quite turn out.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the work done by Nick and his crew! From start to finish it was a pleasure to work with them. We secured several bids and Nick’s was the only one that broke down the work by trade so we could see where most of the budget was going and make adjustments if needed. He handled all of the permit paperwork and follow up with the city. Every day when his crew left the basement was clean and tidy. Nick does beautiful custom cabinetry and we had him do the the bar and bar back. The work is exceptional and we’ve had many complements on the quality. He carried the same custom elements to the lolly column surrounds so they now look like architectural features instead of eyesores. He and his crew worked with us every step of the way to design an awesome space for us to enjoy. All the subcontractors were top notch as well. Nick was on site every day and coordinated trades so everything moved smoothly. He responded quickly to any and all questions we had. Over the years we’ve dealt with many contractors and he is outstanding. The work done is beautiful and was done at a fair price.

The basement had a water problem, that I thought was fixed, however it wasn’t. Nick and team were at a stall until I could get this resolved with the previous contractor. It took me 6 weeks to get the contractor back out here to fix the problem. He also pointed out several mistakes from previous contractors he thought might be a problem, but he wanted to make sure that I was aware. The project grew to include: Shelving and custom swing-out cabinet in the basement Finishing of the family room - custom wall built-in, new fireplace mantel, painting, crown moulding, electrical, etc. Painting of the main entrance way Custom built-in linen closet Finishing up the hardware floor What I really liked about this company is that, even though there was a delay in the basement project not on their behalf, Nick and team would move forward with the additional projects in the interim. Nick checked in with me every step of the way to make sure I was aware of what was being worked on next and that I was happy with the quality of work. Nick’s values that “He wouldn’t have anyone on his team at a house he didn’t trust at his own” and “We like to stay at the same location until the work is done”. This rings true to me. I’ve had my share of contractors that are “no shows” and I’ve been working on my house for 12 years now. His team and work is solid and I would highly recommend him as a valued resource and would be my first call for any future projects.

Couldn't be happier. Nick & his team were awesome to work with. They made the experience super easy and we would hands down recommend them for any future remodeling/improvements. We were so pleased with everything that we are going to be using Nick to redo our basement when we are ready. He was always on-site and never had an issue getting a hold of Nick if we had any questions. I love how everything turned out, love walking into my new home!

I've waited long enough for him to quote....and never did receive the quote. I give up!

Nick and crew were great to work with. He had several good suggestions to handle the concerns we had with possible flooding and he also made a custom cabinet about 12 feet long that fits the space beautifully. Nick was at the work site almost everyday to check that things were going smoothly. Great quality work at a fair price. Starting another project with him in about a month, and would certainly recommend him.

Wonderful! The deck is beautiful. Nick provided us with a number of options, bringing samples as well as photos for us to look at to help us make our decisions. Nick took care of all permits and inspections that were needed. When the deck was complete, he and his team cleaned up everything so all that was left was our beautiful deck. And this deck is solid! I feel very safe when I am on the deck or using the stairs. This is the second time we have used Biango Construction (he built us a breakfast nook about a year ago) and I would highly recommend Nick and his team.

Couldn't have been better. Nick and his team are perfectionists and extremely detail oriented. They showed up every day when they said they would, and provided craftsmanship and service above and beyond my expectations. They were meticulous about cleanliness and left the place cleaner every day than they found it. They took every possible step to be careful and do things the right way. In my family room, they removed an old, outdated wall unit and replaced it with gorgeous cherry wood floating shelves with LED lighting. The work they did was flawless, and modernized the entire home. They also removed the soffit with can lighting above my kitchen island and installed pendant lighting. They had to replace a huge chunk of drywall on the ceiling. When they were done, it wasn't even noticeable. They were also smart to paint the entire ceiling in order to make sure there was no variation in color. When finishing up with painting, for example, they spent over an hour covering everything, moving furniture, and masking areas in order to prevent any mishaps. I have used Biango Construction for 2 projects already, and wouldn't even think of using anyone else if I decided to continue updating my home. Trust me when I tell you that these guys are perfectionists. They have never been the least expensive bid that I've received for a project, but have always exceeded expectations. If you take pride in your home, don't hire the cheapest.....hire the best!

We worked directly with Nick Biango, the owner. This was the absolutely best experience and we could not be happier. The workmanship is top notch, the price was fair, and everyone working on the project was on time, took pride in their work, and could be trusted in our home. We have had a number of bad experiences with contractors in the past and working with Biango Construction was a welcome change. We would never use anyone else. Nick is a terrific person and was extraordinarily patient in working with us. One of the many benefits is that Nick is a master woodworker and cabinet maker. He can custom build anything - cabinets, shelves, bar, etc., based on a photo and do it for less than a retail supplier. Regardless, nothing looks as good as custom built-ins and Nick is an absolute pro. He was able to replicate the style of our custom kitchen cabinets in the remodel of our basement. The other trades that Nick works exclusively with have been selected because they are all excellent at what they do. The painters, Ozzie & Junior of Jamie & Sons Painting, did a fabulous job as did the other trades. From beginning to end, it was consistently a great experience. We wish we could keep Nick a secret, but he has more than earned this review. Do not hesitate to use Biango Construction – they are the best!

I am so happy with the breakfast nook that Nick built and installed for us! Nick spent a significant amount of time with us during the initial estimate, not only listening to our ideas and concerns, but also providing various suggestions as to how we could improve on our design. Once we agreed on the price and design, Nick kept us up-to-date on progress by texting pics of the nook in various stages. On install day, Nick and his assistant provided us with exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend Biango Construction to anyone. The majority of the work is done in their shop causing us minimal inconvenience. The price is fair, the work was done in a very timely manner, and they left our kitchen space perfectly clean when they completed the job. Most important, Nick gave us his 100% guarantee telling us to call him at anytime should we ever have any issues with the nook. Very happy with this company!

Nick Biango and his team, especially Enrique, were true craftsman and professionals who took pride in their work. It showed not only in the quality productt but also in the way they kept the work sites clean meticulously. Nick is a third generation carpenter/construction professional and has a real passion for doing things right while not being wasteful. If you're serious about custom built-in cabinetry systems and related construction work, go with Biango Construction and you won't be sorry you did! He stands by his work.

Everything was wonderful. He came out to talk to me about what I wanted, and his bid came back quickly. The bid reflected how well he understood the project. Nick is so enthusiastic and knowledgable that I wanted to work with him but his was the highest quote. It was several weeks before I could make a decision, and he followed up during that time. He "sharpened his pencil" on the quote which made my decision easy. I am so glad I asked him do the work. It is beautiful. Nick estimated the completion date and he delivered exactly on the estimated day. I enjoyed getting pictures texted to me as he built it in his shop. He and his helper, Danny, both worked very hard during the installation and were professional throughout. They gave me expert advice and asked my opinion to make sure everything was optimal. Their attention to detail is phenomenal - they made sure everything was just right. The quality of the work done in the shop and their years of experience working together meant that the install went very well, and there were a few things that were skillfully resolved. An outlet needed to be moved and when Nick opened it up, he realized it was more that he was prepared to deal with. He called an electrician who came right away at no additional cost to me. I was impressed that Nick took it upon himself to reach out to make sure it was accomplished the right way. That was his aproach on everything. He and Danny answered every question I had and their standard of excellence was so high that they noticed and modified a few things that I would not have noticed but see as a great finishing touch. They did not leave until everything was perfect and my house was clean. The finished product is fantastic! I would not hesitate to work with Nick again.

Nick responded to my first phone call. He and his team reported every day at 0700. They repaired some damage in the basement. They gutted two bathrooms and the kitchen. They installed the new bathroom and kitchen units. Nick built cabinets for one bathroom and the laundry room. Nick built a new fireplace mantle. Nick is a master carpenter. I am very pleased with all work performed.

It went great! I was able to schedule the consultation without too long of a wait, he was punctual, professional, friendly and honest.

As the conversation progressed, kept changing the price (upward) and changing what was/was not included. He was very engaging, but we lost confidence that "the price would be the price" after the job started. Decided not to go with him.

Nick Biango and his crew are awesome. They are very professional and easy to work with. The job went smoothly and was completed more quickly than originally quoted. The renovation looks amazing. They were very courteous and cleaned up every bit of construction debris before they left. We will definitely use Biango Construction for jobs in the future.

I found Nick thru Angie's List and asked him to come out and offer an estimate for carpentry, floor work, and painting that we wanted done on a house we had just bought. Nick was able to meet us soon after and offered a reasonable timetable and competitive prices for the work we required. We gave him the job and he did not disappoint. Throughout the month-long project, Nick and his crew produced quality work and quickly addressed any problems that arose, including old wiring in the living/dining room area. We had no trouble getting ahold of Nick when we needed to discuss a particular aspect of the job and he was quick to update the invoice for any changes to the contract. He didn't push us to add more projects to the job and gave his honest opinion on other work we may want done in the future. I particularly liked how closely he watched each phase of the work to ensure it was done well. All in, we felt we got what we paid for and we love the changes to our house. I can see us using Nick for other work in the future.

Nick and his crew were a delight. Hard workers, friendly, competent and very neat. Always on time and came every day until the job was complete. This was important because my 91 yr.old mother is with us and we were in confined quarters. We were expecting 3 weeks but he completed it in 2 weeks!! Everyone who has seen the new room just loves it, as we do! The trim work is beautiful. Nick has a lot of great ideas. We would highly recommend him to do any project you may have. He has a great work ethic that you don't see very often these days!!

We now have a beautiful deck that is extremely well constructed. This carpenter has many years experience as a carpenter and it shows in his work. He was very detailed in all the work he did. We highly recommend this company. Nick took the time we needed in order to help us make decisions and was great in presenting a variety of options. Nick is very easy to work with and we had no complaints. He did an excellent job and he is a man of integrity.

The job went exactly as stated by Nick and as expected. Once the deck materials were delivered by Nick's supplier, Nick and his crew went to work removing the old porch and digging the footings for the new support columns. The village had to make 3 inspections (the footings, the framing, and the finished deck) and the village inspector found no problems during any of these inspections. Nick and his crew worked quickly and kept the area as clean and neat as can be expected for an exterior job site. They were careful about keeping the gates closed so our 3 dogs wouldn't get out of the yard when they went out to do their thing. In addition to the deck, which they completed just before Memorial Day weekend so we could use the new deck for our family gathering, we had Nick and his crew come back in July and remove the dining room window that faced the new deck and replace it with a sliding patio door. This project too was completed without any problems. The price for both projects were exactly as Nick had quoted. We would definitely consider using Biango Construction again if we have additional remodeling/renovation projects.

Met w/Nick in early September to get an estimate on a basement remodel. He said he'd get back to me w/in the week w/an estimate. I followed up w/Nick after a couple of weeks regarding the estimate. He said he had to go out of town but would be back soon and send over an estimate. I never heard back from him.

I contacted three providers. I was particularly impressed by Biango Construction, as the owner answered his own phone or texts promptly whenever I called. This quote on the job was in the middle. The high quoter never contacted me to follow up, and the third and low-cost provider wasn't an Angie's list member, YET. Unlike him, Nick insisted on using quality materials and paint based upon his experience with others. We negotiated a few items out of the deal, as we wanted to save cost, and did less visible areas ourselves. Nick was agreeable and non-defensive throughout the process, which was appreciated. As for the timing, it was mid-December, and Nick assured us that they would finish construction by Christmas, which they did! The painting was handled over three days, January 6-9, by Nick himself and his carpenter associate as the painters were trapped out of state by weather. He honored both coupons offered by Angie's and the workers were courteous and clean throughout the job, even during the final check by a friend who found a few things to correct. I would recommend Biango Construction for similar work any time.
