Had a problem with my furnace last winter. Called in a different company, and they fixed the problem, and while there, offered to check my heat exchanger. They found it to be cracked and said the furnace needed to be replaced, and estimated $2,500-$3,000. Since the heating season was almost over, I held off on replacing the furnace, and installed a carbon monoxide detector as a precaution. In the fall, I wanted to make sure the furnace was in good working order for the upcoming winter. I wanted to get a second opinion, since the first one was basically unsolicited. I searched for a company that was local to my home(North Aurora) and came across Air-rite. The service technician came out, not only did the camera inspection (like the previous company) but also disassembled the furnace to get a better look. The heat exchanger was cracked, but not severely. The technician then read thru my owners manual and found that the furnace was still under warranty for parts (not labor) and said the furnace could be repaired for about 1/4 of the cost of replacing it. He ordered the part, and when it came in came back and installed it. Very quick, very professional, explained everything he was doing clearly and concisely. My only complaint was the appointment to replair the furnace had to be rescheduled at the last minute due to the technician becoming ill, and I had already scheduled time off of work. Very pleased with the service, and signed up for annual maintenance plan based on how well the experience went.

The technician, Nike, was extremely professional and went out of his way to explain what he was doing, why he was doing and patiently answered all my questions. My compressor is 20 years years so I asked pros and cons of getting something new and asked him about his preferences. He told me about the various brands, was upfront to say he had a bias towards the brand his firm sold but me the reasons and was straight forward about the associated costs. I very appreciated his professionally, being proud of his work place but at the same time did not try to up-sell me. When I get a compressor I will certainly get a quote from Air-rite.

Excellent experience. Terry Lyons of Air-Rite arrived at my house on time and was very professional, courteous, and proficient. Terry's visit was for preventive maintenance -- cleaning and inspecting my A/C system. He cleaned and checked the compressor, confirmed that the system was properly cooling, and cleaned and checked other aspects such as oiling the fan motor. Terry also suggested some preventive maintenance steps (for example, replacing the dual capacitor), which I passed on for the time being, but it was nice to receive his advice on these aspects of the system.

Very thorough, especially on the outside unit which according to the technician had probably not been properly cleaned before.

Overall, Air-rite did a very nice job. They were professional from the moment I scheduled my service. The serviceman showed up on-time and was professional in his attire and the work he performed. He took the time to explain the services he was providing and pointed out items for me to look for in the future. I believe his name was Lorenzo. After Air-rite was finished performing the service, I heard a noise coming from my A/C unit I had not heard before. I called Air-rite to let them know of the noise. They sent out the same serviceman from the day before, on the same day of my call, and free of charge. That was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised at the customer service I received. Lorenzo performed a diagnostics check, reviewed his prior work and listened to my concerns. After his second visit, I didn't hear the noise and I believe he took care of the problem. I would recommend using Air-rite to service your HVAC system.

In one day I got the part from Grainger and replaced it myself. The unit was a Universal Furnace Control Kit which fits over 100 furnaces. It seems unreasonable that such a unit was not carried on his truck and that there would be a separate fee for him to come out again for him to replace it.

Came home from vacation and turned on the heat and nothing happened. Called them on a Saturday morning and they had someone out by 11:00 that same day. Looked at the furnace, found and clearly explained the problem and resolved it in a timely manner. Very prompt and professional.

The technician showed up on time, in fact early, for the appointment. He was friendly, courteous and professional, and didn't mind taking extra time to teach me and explain what he was doing. It turns out that one of the units will need to be replaced (no big surprise to us) but the technician was able to make it last through the summer so that we won't need to deal with it until next year. He also offered less expensive options to completely replacing the unit, but was honest about the fact that they may or may not work well. I appreciated his professionalism and the fact that he didn't do the 'hard sell' on the most expensive option--totally replacing the a/c unit immediately. We will absolutely use Air-Rite again in the future!

Very happy with the quality and attention to detail from the service technician. He thoroughly checked the unit and identified two potentially failing parts, and proved it to my satisfaction. He had the parts on his truck and replaced them during the same visit. I expect all service to be of top quality and this visit did not disappoint. Nothing more to say - met all my expectations. A slightly lower grade (B) on punctuality and professionalism, but for their office NOT their technician: Professionalism - When I called to schedule appointments to use the coupons they were initially confused, thinking I only had one coupon. I purchased them on the same transaction from Angie's List and they entered them in their system wrong. Initially, the response I received made me feel like I was going to have a hassle from them honoring my two coupons. Eventually, they realized they made an error recording them on their end and, after some research by them and a call back to me, they recovered. At all times they were polite but it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. These were the first coupon's I had ever purchased from Angie's list, and I am a new member. For a few minutes, I regretted my decision to buy them. Punctuality - They gave me a 4-hour service window, and met it. The driver called when he was about 30 minutes away. I had hoped for, and asked when I made the appointment, to get a call that morning to let me know approximately where I was in the schedule. I had a conflict for a teleconference I needed to attend right in the middle of the service window and I needed to know if I was going to be OK for it. FInally, I called them myself for that information. I have come to expect this kind of proactive confirmation the morning of service from a dispatcher and I think it is good practice. In fact, I received no confirmation call at all, even the day before, so I had this one doubt whether they were going to show up at all. A call would have made me feel more confident when using this service provider for the first time.
