I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and they were really good. We were very happy with them. We had them come in once for the heat and another time for the air conditioner. I think it was easy to schedule them within a week or 10 days.

It was great. Would use them again. Very professional.

Took our money and was a no show.

The service went fine. I spent more than the Big Deal price, because while they were checking the AC unit, they found a part that was going bad and it needed replacing. I spent an additional $120 and feel that was still reasonable. While they were here, they looked at the furnace and mentioned that the humidifier unit was not serviceable, due to its poorly installed position. (It's in a condo with very limited space.) They recommended not to use it, as it was five years old, but unfortunately they did not bother to advise me how to go forward, or give an estimate to replace it or to re-position the unit correctly. I will probably use them again in the future because they did what they came to do.

Service visit was good, no complaints except could have been more responsive in arrival time. Did not get notified of arrival time until end of 4 hour window.

The original service call went fine. The tech seemed fine, other than that he really seemed hard pressed to sell us as many parts as her could, despite the fact that we have a furnace that is operating effectively and efficiently prior to this call. Our furnace is in the basement where we don't go very often. About two weeks after this service call, we went to our basement and noticed a strong odor of sulfur (aka natural gas) so we called Nicor and waiting outside for them. The Nicor tech determined the leak was coming from a small, specific area on the furnace... coincidentally right near the igniter and near pieces which were moved in order to replace it 2 weeks prior. Well, of course this occurred at about 5:30pm on a Friday, right after Air-rite closed for normal business hours and everything becomes an "emergency call." Nicor informed us that if we didn't have someone out to deal with the furnace tonight, they would shut our gas off. So we called Air-rite. The on call technician called us back and we explained the situation. He said that the service call is $199 due up front, plus whatever labor, etc. would be involved to correct the problem. I asked him if there was any way to waive the $199, given that this seemed like quite an interesting coincidence and I strongly believe that something was not reconnected properly, etc. after the last service call. He contacted the owner and called back. He informed us that given the situation, the owner agreed "that he could come out at no cost tonight." Great! Much appreciated! Until we get a bill for $199 about 5 weeks later.... I called to speak with someone about this. It took three attempts over 2 weeks to even get someone to talk to. They kept transferring me to voicemail and then no one would return my call. When I finally did talk with the service manager, she was quite rude about the while situation and said that we owed the money because they problem they found wasn't related to the original service call. Funny enough, in the process of the inspection that night, pieces were disconnected and reconnected again.... and we have had an independent contractor inspect it since then who found that Air-Rite's assessment of what caused the gas leak was completely wrong and they were simply trying to sell us yet another part (this time for $500+). It has been 2 months since then, and with no other work, the furnace has not leaked gas again once. Coincidence? I think not. It took about 10 minutes on the phone with the "customer service" manager and her being absolutely rude beyond belief, but she did waive the $199 fee eventually. If I had known "we can come out at no cost tonight" meant "you don't have to pay up front, but we will harass you for the money later" rather than what I was originally requesting, which was for them to inspect it at no fee because of the nature of the situation, I never would have had them come out and simply would have let Nicor shut my gas off for the night! Overall, this business seems built on up-selling people things they don't need and second-rate customer service. I am very grateful that they finally did waive the $199, but I don't think it should have been a fight to have that done.

Purchased the $69 deal for the furnace service. Needed 2 because I have 2 systems. They did a nice job with the work. So why wouldn't I use them again? Well, the furnace broke down a few months later, and I had them back. They stated that the furnace was end-of-life so the real fix probably wasn't worth the $800 or so. I had them out to quote me a new system, 2 furnaces and 2 ACs. The came out promptly on a Sat and I had a quote a few days later. Unfortunately, the quote sent didn't even match the equipment discussed at the meeting, i.e., 2 5-ton and a 2-ton AC, instead of 2 3-ton ACs. When we called them to ask a few questions and refine the quote, they never called back. Interesting that they didn't need my 16,000 worth of business. Very poor follow-up. I went with another dealer who was responsive and professional, and am very happy. Sad to see that follow-up was so poor from a dealer that I trusted.

went well, good work. my only issue is that six months before, one technician totally contradicted the other regarding the right filter to use. 1st guy actually sold me a filter that they second guy I should not use.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was pretty good. The experience was pretty positive. The technician who came was very thorough and stuck around after he was finished to answer questions. Overall it was a very good experience.

technician did an excellent job. He identified a carbon monoxide leak and shut our furnace down for safety reason. We ended replacing our furnace, though not using them. Very glad we identified the safety issue early on. Money well spent.

I purchased a Big Deal for routine maintenance for $49. He arrived on time and did the job fine. He was pleasant.

The technician was professional in cleaning the furnace and very patient to answer our questions on the temperature control system.

Did not use service simply due to my schedule.

No problems, he did a series of diagnostic tests, gave me a report and then left after an hour or so.

Very prompt, courteous and helpful. Would definitely use again and advise others to use them, too.

The appointments were wide open and they gave me a two hour time slot so that I didn’t feel restricted. They called before they came and arrived within the first half hour of the time slot. There were no additional fees beyond the prepaid cost of the deal. I think that the repairman was very nice and professional. He explained everything really nice and cleaned up well after completing the work. He did give me options and recommendations for a new unit as ours is no longer being made. He did not push having the work done immediately as it is still in working condition, but if something were to happen, they no longer make any of the parts should a repair be needed. I would recommend them to others and would use them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went okay. It was $69 for the cleaning and then I paid for the parts and the labor for the circuit board and then I didn't pay anything after that. They came out on weekends and after work. I would consider using them again. I would give them the benefit of the doubt.

Everything went alright but the guy they sent out showed up in a dirty shirt with a fresh blood stain the arm. Don't know what that was about. He seemed a bit off and untrustworthy. I won't be using air-rite again.
