Checking the furnace and AC was fine. They were punctual for the appointment and scheduling was not a problem.

The Carrier units we had were 20 years old, were on their last legs, and needed to be replaced. I first contacted Air-Rite back in June for an estimate to replace my Carrier furnace & AC units. Mike, the Air-Rite representative, arrived at my house as scheduled, and was very knowledgeable and fully explained all of my options. Three months after getting the original estimate, as the season turned colder, my wife and I decided now was the time to get the work done. I called Mike to schedule the install. I was so happy when, on such short notice, Mike and Air-Rite were able to come through. In no time, Mike, Len and Joe were able to get my new system scheduled and installed on a day that was convenient for me. The technicians who installed the units, Len and Joe, arrived at my house when scheduled and performed all work to ABOVE satisfactory levels. Thank you so much Air-Rite!

I can't say enough about the service I've received from this company. I called this time because I was so impressed when I used them before. The two furnace units in my house were due for annual check ups. The work was scheduled promptly, the tech called on the way then showed up right on time. He checked more things in a more organized way than any service before. He went beyond and advised me the humidifier filter was dirty; I had a replacement, he slipped it in. He cleaned up, packed up, exchanged some paperwork. Excellent service, money well spent.

I just contacted the company and what I need is not what the deal covers. She was very friendly and helpful but it's just not what I needed.

I purchased the Big Deal for Air-Rite Heating & Cooling. The company FAILS to state which areas they service. It would save the customer a great deal of time & effort if they were to state this and allow the consumer to find a company they can use. I purchased the deal on October 3. I was contacted through email on October 7. Although they contacted me within reasonable time, I wish I had known before I spent money to purchase their services. The email stated for me to call Angie's List for a refund. I called only to be informed that I would have to wait an additional 7-10 business days before my receiving a refund. I then talked to a supervisor, Ms. Kat, who expedited the refund. She said Angie's List would contact the company to see why they(AIR-RITE) aren't listing which areas their company services. I am VERY satisfied with my outcome with Angie's List, I'm NOT happy with Air-Right Heating & Cooling.

They emailed me and let me know that they cannot do this service without an additional $180 for travel fees and also the type of furnace I had. I did not intend on paying that much more for this service, so I just decided to cancel. They were prompt and courteous with their response.

They kept in contact with me, they were polite, courteous, on time, and took their time explaining things to me.

Even though the map on their website states they cover Kendall County, they don't service any residences west of Rt. 47 so if you're in Plano or the east side of Sandwich, they won't provide service to you.

They performed a heating and humidifier tune-up. They were very professional and on time. I would use them again in the future.

Purchased the deal in May and provider contacted me through e-mail within 2 days. At that time, I asked when the best time to perform the inspection would be and I was informed that August, before the start of the heating season, would be the best time. I called on Sept 9th and received an appt for Sept 23rd. The technician arrived on time. His inspection revealed that 3 of the furnaces did not include a drain needed to keep water out of the furnaces. Kurt explained everything in detail and showed us the results of his inspection for each furnace. The inspection also revealed PVC pipes that were not properly sealed. The issues discovered were the result of the original installation. The drains and the sealing of the PVC pipes cost an additional $76 but I felt no pressure to add the expense. After seeing the issues and receiving an explanation, it seemed a necessary expense to prevent future damage, I was satisfied with the services provided and feel comfortable about our heating systems going into this winter season.

The service went very well. They worked on an older unit. We have since replaced that furnace, however. He just cleaned up the furnace at the time and gave some information about igniter switch. The technician did nice work. He was also very honest and knowledgeable. I had no difficulties scheduling the deal.

went very well, service guy was nice, professional. A day or two afterward, furnace started making a godawful noise. called them back and of course, did not make a sound, so nothing he could do.

I was not able to stand at the furnace and see what he did,but I had a problem with cold air following hot air, in the middle of winter. I have resided in my home for 35 years and my furnace never blew cold air. It continued after he left. I called him and he said my furnace was working properly. I don't feel like my problem was resolved.

It went great. Technician was courteous and thorough. He answered all my questions. I will call them if I have a problem in the future.

Went well. Ended up having to replace the furnace due to age.

It was fine. They were at the home for about 30-40 mins and they sent 1 tech.

Good. Honest, friendly. He let me know what will need to be done in the future due to rust. Not pushy.

There were no additional fees associated with the Big Deal.

I didnt use the deal because it was for a furnace and I needed work on my AC. However, they was able to fix my problem and they did an awesome job on the work! They were clean!

I've used Angie's list for a good year now and,for the most part i've been happy with the service providers. This experience, with Air-Rite Heating and Cooling, was an exception to the positive experiences I"ve had. With past service purchases, Angie's list has been instrumental in helping me find trustworthy contractors and service companies. So, when an Angie's deal for a Furnace Maintenance Check-Up was advertised I jumped on it. Why not? Air-Rite had an A rating so I expected i would be dealing with a professional company who would be pulling any of the traditional "tricks" of selling and upselling. This wasn't quite the case. I wasn't at home when the the Air-Rite service tech arrived (on time) as scheduled - my wife was. About 30 minutes into the service call I rec'd a frantic call from my wife stating the Air-Rite tech told her she and our children were in danger because of a cracked heat exchange on the furnace. He "educated" her on the dangers of CO poisoning and told her the furnace needed to be replaced. My wife handed me the phone and i heard the same lecture from the technician (Dan Pemble). He told me the heat exchanger couldn't be replaced (which wasn't true) and said he could replace the furnace for $2890.00. He also stated he needed a check for 50% of this estimate now. Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to appreciate old school hard selling. Shake them with fear (you're kids are in danger) and you're more likely to sell. It's also pretty obvious a quote for nearly $3000 to replace a furnace is outrageously high. This approach is what i would expect from a provider i grab from the phone book, not from a highly rated Angie's list provider Fortunately, the furnace was under warranty through a home purchase policy (covered for 1 year from our home purchase). I told the service tech we would engage the warranty company for a second opinion. Long story short, the warranty company brought in another company, assessed the furnace and paid for the replacement of the heat exchanger (a job i'm told was frequently done and cost about $600). Other than a few small cracks on the exchanger, the furnance was in great operating order, according to the warranty service tech, and still had several good years of service in it. Bottom line, Air-Rite may be a higher rated provider on Angie's list, but clearly they have some "old school" technicians that still try to sell/upsell based on lies and fear tactics. Buyer beware!

Terry was great. Very calm and explained everything. It turned out it was just a blown fuse, but I had no idea what to look for and he took the time to show me and left me an extra one in case it happened again. He also checked the outside wiring to find out why it blew and replaced wiring that was bare & touching.

From what I remember, there were no troubles with scheduling the appointment. My husband was not home for the work and I was worried they would try to up-sale services when all we needed was a tune-up. The guy who came out was very professional and he did not try to up sale anything at all. I had installed a brand new filter the day before they came to see if they would try to say the filter was dirty. There was an assistant who did come as well. He did try to say that the filter was dirty and the technician was very honest and said it was not. There were no extra charges beyond the cost of the deal and I was happy their service.

The technician was quick and friendly.

The service itself was great, and as expected. The only issue I had was I had called about the deal and setting up the service date, the person whom I talked to misinformed me on what was covered. I specifically asked if the blower would be cleaned and she had informed me that yes it would be cleaned as part of the package deal. However when the technician came out, he informed me that was not part of the service, and an extra cost would be associated with that. Had I known that a blower cleaning was not part of the deal, I would of requested a refund, but it was to late when the technician had came out. Overall the technician was good, and competent, and provided me with the service the deal noted, minus the blower cleaning.
