Old owners had roof replaced in June 2013 and we bought home in August. Then in winter like many in Midwest we also had ice damming issue, Contractor that old owners use had closed company and we had no where to go. So I looked at Angie's list and sent email to A&D Exteriors since they were best rated. I got a prompt email response from Gene Rathbone from A&D. I spoke with him very next day. I explained him issue and he immediately told me that this may not be an issue due to roof but poor insulation or because of bad winter. But still I insisted on him to come over and look. After setting up a date, Gene came to my home yesterday. He came late from other appointment because of work but he still came. He looked over roof carefully and also came inside attic with me. He said that roof is in a good shape and does not need to be replaced at least for 20 years. He also suggested few tips on how to decrease heat in attic during winter by installing power vent fan and opening up soffit. But unfortunately A&D does not replace soffit. Earlier I spoke with couple of roofers who were saying we had hailstorm and roof is in bad shape and need to be replaced. They were ready to share my insurance cost. But I wanted to take opinion from some reliable reputed company. So I contacted A&D since they were best rated. Even though this means he will not make business he gave us advice. He made a trip specially to inspect roof even though he knew roof is probably good. Even to make up somehow for him some money or offered to buy him dinner but he politely declined. So whenever I have to do roof, I am definitely calling Gene from A&D. My advice to someone who is reading reviews, please please do not follow what those storm chaser roofers. They are here only ripoff and cheat you and insurance co. Call only reliable company like A&D Exteriors. Gene Rathbone has definitely earned my respect. Thanks Yogesh Ajmire

I think it went average and he did a very nice job. He did a little extra than what was in the big deal. I gave him a call and he made the appointments very promptly. He recommended I get a new roof and when I found out how old the roof was, he changed his mind. I was concerned about that and I thought he was trying to sell me something I did not need. He was a very nice, pleasant and professional man. He went up on the roof and did some caulking and other roof repairs. If he hadn't told me to get a new roof, I would have been extremely happy with him.

I emailed them on a Saturday evening and they contacted me on Monday. I made an appointment with Geno who came out to my house to inspect my roof for hail damage from a recent storm. Many of the houses on my block are having their roofs and siding replaced because of the storm. After the inspection Geno explained to me that what I thought was hail damage, was actually heat blisters. I have architectural shingles on my house that are more durable than my neighbors. He was honest and explained that my roof was fine and that it should last for another 15 years. He also checked my siding for hail damage. Geno was very professional, knowledgeable, prompt and honest. It's nice to see that, considering all the storm chasers that are out there. I would definitely use them for any future work.

Well, he estimated my roof was still in good repair and that leakage was due to ice forming in drain over winter.

They were professional and knowledgeable. They seem like a quality company and were willing to wait until we were ready to have the job done.

It was fine, and a simple job. They just looked to see if there was anything amiss. They found nothing substantial that needed done. One tech did the inspection. It did turn out to be a semi-sales pitch on their part.

,the roof is said to be steep, and the first person came without getting to the roof. I was told that someone would come . On June 18' after I called, they came and got to the roof. Anyway I would not buy any package anymore.

it went well. Dustin was on time, polite and easy to talk to. I mainly wanted him to fix a small leak that had developed at the flashing near the chimney, in addition to the roof inspection. The leak was fixed on the first try (altho Dustin offered to come back if need be, since he lives only 10 minutes away). We talked about the age of the roof and its need for replacement in 1 -2 years (no surprise to me, given its age). He left some samples of roof shingles that specifically address the algae streaks that affect the appearance of our roof. Dustin also pointed out some needed repairs to the chimney and recommended a tuck-pointer that he uses.

I own a rental property in Naperville and the tenant contacted me last November about the roof needing to fixed, I called Dustin of A & D Exteriors for an estimate. Dustin quickly provided me with estimate and tried to get the work going and get it done before the harsh winter weather sets in, but the weather would not cooperate, so Dustin implemented some temporary protective measures to prevent water damage to the inside of the house. After the weather starts to get warmer, Dustin finally got to work on putting on the new roof and it was done in few days and the work was done beautifully. It was a very pleasant experience working with A & D Exterior.

dI bought the Big Deal for a replacement roof for $6499. Because much of the underlayment was rotted, about 40% of the wood needed to be replaced before the new shingles could be placed. This increased the cost. I am pleased with the result and feel the price was fair. The entire job was completed and cleaned up in a day and a half.

We were extremely satisfied with Dustin and A&D Exteriors. The work was completed quickly and professionally. The job wasn't considered complete until we were completely satisfied. I highly recommend A&D Exteriors! The exterior of our house looks great!

They were fantastic. Their professionalism, expertise, availability, and flexibility of scheduling stood out. They were great.

Dustin came out after I bought the $99 deal for gutter repair, but wasn't able to help me even though I sent pictures and specifically told him what I was looking for and that I would be happy to pay more $$, in any event, refunded my money promptly.

Dustin was professional and showed great attention to detail. The scheduled date was rained out, but he was very flexible about rescheduling the date and time.

That turned out very well. They were very professional. With the inspection they let me know that in person. We even recommended this company to our neighbors and they did good work for them too.

Dustin was prompt and professional. He took care of everything that I requested and also inspected my roof with the extra time left.

Dustin responded very quickly to my suggested appointment dates, and he was kind enough to reschedule it when I asked him to. He arrived for the appointment on time and completed the inspection and routine maintenance efficiently. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my roof was in good condition and should last for another decade or so. The gutters and ventilation were in poor condition, however. He left me a brochure describing his company. but did not give me any pressure to buy any other his services. I thought he was very professional and I plan to ask him to quote me a price on the gutters and ventilation.

Roof inspection went fine. I appreciated that they recognized my roof can hold out for ~2 years and that they did not try to sell me a new one on the spot. However, when I called the company at a later date and made an appointment for an estimate on a chimney flashing repair, they never showed up. If they did show up when we were out, then they didn't leave any indication that they had been there and they did not follow up.

They did what they said they would do. They were great, fine and all things went well.

Work was nit provided, b/c my home was out of their territory and they were quick and helpful and nice about letting me know and refunding me the price of the offer I'd purchased through Angie's List. Nonetheless, every time I log on to AL, I get a request to review. Angie's List, why are you sending me offers that aren't available in my area anyway? And why do you inundate me with requests to review something I canceled through you?? It is annoying, but has NOTHING to do with this provider. They were great, though I couldn't utilize their services (and they didn't know why Angie's List would've sent me the offer, either).

Good evaluation of status of roof. Gutter evaluation good in general but my roof quite complicated drainage system so did not expect a completely adequate solution. She was sure about woodwork drainage problems but they do not handle woodwork repairs and so I was not sure of her explanations about the problems

It went well. Our roof is rather old so we expected to hear bad news. Instead we were told that our roof was in good shape and didn't need repairs or replacement at this time. We too this as a sign the company was legit and wasn't just trying to get more work.

That was okay. However, I felt that he used that promotion just as a method to get in and try to sell more services. I didn't spend more than the $99 because I chose not to use anymore of their services. They were on time when they came.

Dustin came out on a Sunday to fix a leak in our roof. It ended up being the only day that he could get up onto the roof during a tough Winter. He identified the issue and then heated to spot so that it would take the caulk. The hole was prepared and we did not have any further leaking. Dustin went above and beyond to get to our house asap and then go up onto the roof during Winter to repair the hole.

They sent one person out to do the job. The scheduling was fine and I had no problems. The worker was fine.
