Description of Work: This contractor came with 3 glowing reports from previous customers. I hired him based on his estimate which changed to time, materials and 20% for the job - agreeable to both of us. Good - he's affable, pretty even-keeled, energetic, and willing to do what the customer wants. BAD: errors in measurements, hot-gluing recessed ceiling fixtures to ceiling, doesn't know how to put up wall tile (24X12) so that it is flat (on newly built walls), doesn't really know how to apply Schleuter Kerdi Board, but uses it (warranty is void), put in a GFI, but didn't wire it to the main box, bumps in subfloor are showing through the new floor that he laid (he told me they would not show through), the knee-wall he build was totally not flat and level on the surface so the counter material to go on the top had to be shimmed and super caulked, damage to the outside newly painted siding of my house from propping up materials against it, cuts in a marble threshold, getting adhesive and glue on a newly laid floor and not dealing with it. To top it all off, his 20% actually comes out to 25.0001% and he says that is the way that people run their businesses! He does not provide lien waivers, and will not give the client all of the materials receipts.
