JMW Landscape Design/Build

The service turned out well. The guy did present a really nice design. We did not go through with the project because the materials were very costly. We used a different company for the landscaping. The designer grasped our ideas, listened well and came up with a really nice plan.

Professional, prepared during initial assessment. Took an extended amount of time to draw up plans because of increased workload due to being "big deal". When I finally did get my drawings was disappointed with the hand drawings and choice of landscape options. I felt the $99.00 I spent really did not get me any value for my money. I was disappointed. Would have like a computer rendering with color etc. Would have like the plans in a more timely fashion.

Was an Angie's List special offer. The first appointment was about 6 weeks out from contact. The first and second 'designs' submitted we're uninspired, unprofessional in presentation and lacking in addressing the basic goals of the project. This was a complete waste of our money.

The special deal was for a landscape design for our home property. Took a long time to receive the plan...which we did not care for. The price he quoted we thought was quite high. We did not hire him to do the work

I originally contacted John because I purchased a "deal" coupon for an assessment of my project and drawing plans. John showed up on time but we were a bit rushed on our first meeting. He came back several times later and went over various ideas for my garden beds. He submitted a suggested layout to me within a reasonable time, considering it was the height of Summer, and we went back and forth with new plans until I decided on a layout. His team arrived as scheduled and were professional and respectful of my other plantings. John built a beautiful trellis for my clematis. Since I didn't make any decisions until Fall was underway, I am anxious to see if everything survives the winter and how this new design makes an impact on my landscape. John returned a week ago to check on how things were taking root and says he will replant anything that doesn't recover. As of now I am satisfied with the work John and his crew did and I would use him again and recommend him to friends and family.

JMW was great to work with. John was always very responsive. He came out to met with my wife and I about our landscaping. We recently purchased a home and the landscaping was in need of a major overhaul. We had many plants that were over grown and too large to be up against our house. We also had beds that were full of weeds. John first came out and removed all the weeds as well as a majority of the over grown plants. He was able to save some plants and transplanted them for us. Our house was in need of grading up against the foundation and that was done as well. John and his crew raised and reset part of our patio that was slopping towards the house. He and his crew did a great job in cleaning everything up. John then came back and met with my wife and I and drew up a new landscape plan using some of our existing plants as well as plants we chose. He listened to what we wanted and made a few suggestions as well. John and the crew came back to plant all the new shrubs and bushes as well as lay mulch. John even mowed and edged our lawn so everything would look great. The end result was awesome. We could not be more pleased with how everthing came out. The work that JMW did really showcases our house and beautiful yard.

It went fine, plans well worked out. It took a while to respond to our Angie's list order and then another time to come out and finally make the plan .

The meeting at our house was rather short 15-20 minutes. He was on time and professional. We were told that we would have the plans within a week. We sent the plat of survey the next day after our meeting and after not hearing anything for 2 weeks we sent a follow up email. We received the packet in the mail a week or two later. We didn't particularly like the proposal and the cost of services was higher than we were expecting.

Everything went great. John was extremely professional and hardworking. So were his partners. They really dove into the project and got things done right. John was extremely flexible and really did just about everything we asked him to do (planting, trees, tree removal, hardscaping, drainage, repairing fences, installing gates, fixing our koi pond, etc. It was nice not to have to bring in a bund of different contractors. John was a pleasure to work with and we really feel we got our money's worth.

I think I already wrote a review, but since Angie's is asking me to do it again, I'll write another one. The landscaper came out, spent about 10 minutes with me on my property (he was there about 15 minutes with my husband before I got home), asked for a plat of survey, and a few weeks later sent a plan to me. The plan used all of the existing beds, and I didn't like the flowers he chose. There were huge blobs drawn on the beds labeled "perrenials" or "native grasses", but nothing more specific. On one side he noted 5 rose bushes. I already have evergreen azaleas there, and I like them. I told him this wasn't what I had in mind, and even sent him pictures of other yards. He sent something else back that was almost exactly like the first sketch. I thought I was paying for 3 hours of design and consultation, and it looked like he spent about 5 minutes on each of the 2 designs he sent. He didn't seem interested in working with me.

It went well although it took more time than expected for the first communication. When he came out, he assessed the beds and listened to what I would like to do with them. I forgot to email him a softcopy of our lot w/ house on it so it took about a month to receive the plans back. I like the plans although he didn't include adding in a more natural curve to the beds in the back. This was a big deal purchase of landscaping plans for $110.

We had purchased the deal on May 21st and He finally came out on June 23rd. The plans did not come out until August the 12th. It was not what I had wanted. All that he drew was what was already there. He pointed to some bushes and told us about taking out a tree which we told him we did not want taken out. We asked him to make the walkway and the steps up to the house more handicap accessible. He didn't address our requested job.

It turned out good. They did everything I needed, but I didn't like them to do any work on our yard because it was little too high for my pricing. They scheduled appointment at a mutually convenient time for both of us. They are really good. John came out. I would use them again.

John was thorough & complete the projects in a timely fashion.

Sidewalk is beautiful. He had to raise it to meet the porch as the sidewalk had sunk and the step to the porch was so high. He surprised me with what he did with the plants we already had. It was beautiful.

John did a n excellent job. By the time he was finished my yard and gardens were "picture perfect" All work was completed in a timely fashion and he even stopped by a week or two later just to see how things were doing.

He was prompt and polite at our meetings. He is very creative in his designs. His proposals were thorough, detailed, and clearly stated. He provided return envelopes and stamps for my signed contracts and checks. His work is very meticulous, sturdy, and beautiful. The work site was always neat and organized. He is very easy to communicate with. Once a project had begun, he and I communicated mostly via e-mail. He responded to my messages daily. I will hire JMW for future projects and certainly recommend him to others.

We live in an community where association approval is required for such a project. That took a while, then we had to get municipal permits for the drain tile and paving brick work. Mostly for these reasons, a job we started planning in early June was not completed until late August. I would not fault the contractor for this. Once we had the approvals, the job was completed at a good pace, to our satisfaction.

We are totally pleased with the finished product.

They were quick it only took two days. We had a proposal for what we wanted and the end result was what I expected.
