+ -1 moreThis was an extremely easy and pain free process. We picked out the granite which we felt was a very good price compared to what we'd been looking at. There was never any kind of hard sale, pressure sale or upsale attempted. We said we wanted something relatively affordable and Frank showed us his moderately priced options. Then he came to measure, showed up when he said he would. We scheduled the install about 3 weeks out. The installers showed up when they said they would and installed it flawlessly.

+ -1 moreHe did a great job! The piece I brought in looked awesome. It was done on time and costed what he quoted. I would highly recommend this again.
Description of Work: My project consists of turning an old desk into an island for use in our new kitchen. I bought a 4' x 2' piece of granite countertop at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Gurnee. It was a great find at $75 but I needed to an edge of it rounded off and finished to match the other side. I am in the "calling around to get quotes" phase of this project and so I called Granite Works, LLC. The man who answered the phone took the time to listen to my project and suggested that I round off all the edges to match, since the island would be in the middle of the room. He provided a thoughtful response and the price seems fair for the work involved. I'm still calling around but based upon the response I got I would recommend him to others. He was one of only two places I called to pick up on the first try.

+ -1 moreWe bought our house less then 1 year ago knowing that we would be replacing the formica countertop with granite. We got a few quotes and Discount Granite was right in the middle on price, not the cheapest but, that was not the only thing we were taking into account. From the very 1st visit to their showroom, Sam Abene was fantastic! He was welcoming, answered all our questions, made his recomendations after we asked, and gave us a very good feeling overall. Sam was even able to refer us to places to get our appliances and faucet. Once we made our decision to go with them, we also met Harry Lin, who was equally as professional. Harry came to our house on my schedule, was exactly on time, and didn't take long to take final measurements, answer my MANY questions, and explain all the things I didn't know to ask about. They quickly got our granite ready and had it not been for a major snowstorm, it would have been installed less than 1 week later! They moved things around and installed as soon as we all dug out of the snow! The installation crew was also a pleasure to work with. They were also right on time, took their time, did a beautiful job, explained everything to me and in about half a day, had installed our granite which looks even better than I imagined! They even were careful not to make a mess, cleaned up after themselves and took all garbage with them. These guys are all a pleasure to work with! I would not only recommend them to anyone but, if I ever need granite again, they will absolutely, without a doubt be my 1st phonecall!
