American National Sprinkler & Lighting

Hires them to install outdoor lights and they cut the electrical lines for my septic tank. As I write this review, I have sewage flooding my basement and Dan Askelson says no one can come repair their error for two weeks. Terrible installation and even worse customer service.

This is the second home that we have had American National install our sprinkler system and we have been extremely happy. They are a top notch company and handled our job with professionalism from the time they quoted through installation, taking time to understand the yard and what will provide the best results for each area. They offer great support to help owners get comfortable with using the system as well. We highly recommend their work and maintenance!

Everything went extremely well. Laury was great to work with. Questions directed to him were answered quickly. Installation team was very professional and courteous. Follow-up instructions for working the system through the iPhone app by Simon was also excellent. Project inspected by Village of Buffalo Grove (following installation) passed first time with no issues.

The installation of our new home’s sprinkler system in 1990 was flawless. After the installation American National Sprinkler turned our system on in the spring, drained & shut down in the fall, and serviced our system for 30 years. Pricing was always fair. I never felt like they were trying to overcharge. Their service employees were always professional, courteous, and prompt. Customer service was the same and helpful. Our lawn always looked GREAT. Friends, and family always asked why - my response was fertilizing but mostly due to my AMERICAN NATIONAL sprinkler system.

They weren’t taking on new customers

Can't say enough good things about Am National. We installed our in ground system over 12 years ago and it is still going strong! Am National has been wonderful to work with. I recommended them to my neighbor last year and she also raves about the service and product. Overall the team is professional and communicative. When they open the system the foreman always lets me know the status of all the sprinkler heads and shows me any problems. He then discusses options and performs whatever work needs to be done. The workers set your system to where you had set last year and work with you if you need any changes. Workers do enter your home to open and close the system but always wear booties and never leave any kind of mess or anything behind. I did have an issue once with a line leaking underground due to a tree removal and the company sent someone out right away to evaluate. It turned out there was no leak. They were very thorough and explained everything.

Continually pleased with their service. Have used for 4 yrs to maintain lawn irrigation and back-flow test. Diego came out today. He was friendly, efficient and communicated well. Company always responds timely to questions as well.

They said they are not accepting new customers unless they installed your system.

I have to respect a company that does a great job and has great reviews and will not risk their reputation by taking on new customers. That said, I was looking for someone to quote lighting and irrigation service as a new person to the area. I should have read other negative review that would have let me know they are no longer taking on irrigation customers. Hopefully this will review will help others avoid the same mistake.

The work was performed promptly and accurately. The systems were installed in 2008 and I use them every year for maintenance as well as opening and closing the sprinkler system. All of their employees have been knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would heartily recommend them.

We have been very happy with the products installed by American National Sprinkler and with their excellent service over the past 25 years.

They have been consistently knowledgeable, professional and reliable in all their work. The work quality has been excellent, and they follow through exactly as planned, leaving the worksite very neat. Our beautiful old trees never looked so stately as now, within the glow of their new “nightlights!”

Josh was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with updating our outdoor lighting project for our home.. We look forward to working with him in the future.

It was like magic! We have a beautiful garden, and they managed to install everything without disturbing our sidewalk, brick patio, or the garden. They cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell anything had been done. Lauren, the owner, has been fabulous to work with! There were a few small tweeks, and they came back without charging and corrected everything. The employees were wonderful to work with.

Fully explained process. Very professional

Amazing how outdoor lighting can completely change the curb appearance of the house. My up-lit serviceberry trees outside my living room looked stunning when in full-bloom. The equipment is top-quality, the salesman is on-time & professional and the installers were efficient and knew what they were doing. So impressed.
