Description of Work: Mary DiCarlo provided landscaping design and installation services for us. We had taken out some very large trees and were left with a large difficult shaped bed to fill. Mary provided a lovely design and oversaw the whole project to a beautiful conclusion. We are very happy with the result. She listened to our preferences in plants and trees and adjusted the design as needed as we progressed. She is very easy to work with and we would have no hesitation in recommending her services for any landscaping design project.

Also, it has been almost a year since we had our meeting. Unfortunately our consultation took place in less than ideal conditions with construction in progress and issues with the lighting. Although, I do feel that we were still able to address the design issues you wanted to discuss and came up with very good solutions, including paint color choices for all of the areas. I wish you would've contacted me sooner if you were at all not satisfied with any of the information provided at our consultation. I would've been happy to provide a complimentary second consultation to address any concerns you were having. In the end, I hope your remodeling project did turn out the way you had envisioned it and you are enjoying time with your family in your remodeled townhome.

Description of Work: They dug up existing yews and replaced with a well thought out plan of various plants; some blooming and some evergreen box woods. It's been in the ground for a couple of hours and I have had compliments from three of my neighbors. Mary DiCarlo is a wonderful person to do business with. She had existing plants that I wanted to keep moved to new locations in the yard. I thought her price was fair and the plants of the highest quality. I would definitely hire her again!

Description of Work: I didn't have work done with this vendor. I had a small landscaping project and I was told that the vendor was going to "take a pass". I found a large, local landscaping company that does commercial and residential jobs a la carte that was very happy to provide service based on my individual needs. I am very happy with them and their customer service.

I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with our consultation and/or the preliminary illustration. I was rather surprised since we spent quite a bit of time walking through your garden, reviewing plant pictures and discussing options for different areas of your garden. I did receive an email stating that you also liked the Little Lime Hydrangeas recommended at our consultation. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response from you regarding the preliminary illustration emailed on May 17th. The only thing I can assume is that you weren't happy with the preliminary illustration. As mentioned, the illustration is not intended to be a "design" since it is not developed to scale. It is actually based on a picture taken of the property with some of the recommended plant material included in the photo. The preliminary illustration is a complimentary service that I provide as part of the consultation. It is simply a "starting" point towards a formal design development. It is not meant to be a "plan", as noted in your review, because any concerns or plant selections are addressed in the formal design process. I did specific research regarding your flooding issues in that area and feel that I provided some good plant options based on that research. I wish you would've contacted me if you were unhappy with any part of my service so I could've addressed any concerns you had. Have a good summer and good luck with your project!

Description of Work: Mary prepared a landscape design for my small patio and courtyard area. I liked the plan, but by the time we dealt with my town home association and other delays, I felt that it was getting too late in the season to continue. I did get to keep the plan, and used parts of it to do some planting on my own.

This was an amazing experience from beginning to end. Mary listened to all my needs and implemented them seamlessly into our new landscape design. She has an amazing talent and knowledge base when it comes to plants and design. She was very good with communication and email response time. She never made me feel rushed, and was very willing to make changes as needed. The day of the installation went perfectly. Mary handled everything and had a very professional crew of landscapers. Mary always showed up when we had appointments and was punctual. She gave me a time and cost estimate, and stuck to it. The plants were in good condition and were of a decent size. She even added some extra plants at no extra charge when she saw some blank spots in the landscaping. Mary and her crew turned my empty, weed filled, muddy landscaping into a beautiful oasis of flowers, trees and ornamental grasses. The investment I made with Mary in our landscaping will surely increase the value of our home in years to come. I just can't wait until spring to see the first blooms!!!
Description of Work: Took out all the weeds, added planting soil, re-graded the land, designed the landscaping, hired the laborers, stayed the entire day of installation and handled EVERYTHING.

Designer was helpful and provided several options to chose from. Worked with us on balancing design options and cost. Installation and services were exactly as promised. Everything was done on time as scheduled. Work was completed same day, clean-up was excellent -- like nobody had been there. Instant backyard beauty!!! Follow up service was excellent. Several plants that did not survive the winter were replaced without question in the spring. Very happy and satisfied with services provided by In & Out.

In& Out Design is really a unique company. Mary is able to create interior and exterior spaces which tie the entire home environment together. I worked with Mary from In & Out Design the past couple years on creating a new landscape design for my entire property. The design turned out so well so I decided to work with Mary on updating the interior of my 1970's home. She created a design for redecorating my outdated family room,living room , dining room, ,kitchen and powder room. I need to keep cost to a minimum so Mary suggested to utilize some furnishings and accessories from throughout the house to "redesign" my interior spaces. We then purchased some new accessories and a much needed sectional for my family room. This method really updated my entire home while keeping me within my budget. The fee Mary charged was well worth the savings I incurred and I ended up with comfortable, beautiful and functional spaces that we will enjoy for many years.
