Outside of weather delays it went extremely well. We were kept informed at all times and the finished product exceeded our expectations. Mary is great to work with. She is friendly, but professional and truly knows her business. We incorporated many of her design suggestions into the finished product and couldn't be happier with the final result.

Very well although project took longer than anticipated. Project significantly improved the look of the back of the house and improved a long term drainage problem.

We hired In & Out design's to help us with some landscaping after a storm last year. During the entire process they listened to what we wanted and provided professional recommendations. The work was done professionally and exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend again.

Mary took my random ideas and made them into a stunning reality that we and the neighbors thoroughly enjoyed all summer. Her background palette of shrubs and bushes provide year-round interest and act as a canvas that she filled with seasonal color – from pink accents in the summer to yellow pops of color with the fall, and now we’re happily anticipating our winter wonderland. She even managed to reuse existing plants by relocating them to more suitable locations. But wait, her involvement didn’t just end with the installation, she continues to follow up to make sure the plantings are being properly maintained, sharing ideas and tips, and working to improve my gardening skills (although that might be hopeless). This was my second time hiring a landscaping company, but Mary’s knowledge, patience, great eye for landscaping and use of a software program that allows you to visual the final look before the yard is planted, made this go around so very successful. Mary was also instrumental in some interior design work, she has an eye for color and quickly helped select exterior and interior colors for our house, which looks very natural and nicely accentuates the architecture.

Mary has been working with me to redecorate and redesign our entire home. I interviewed 3-4 other designers and chose Mary because she figured out my taste and had wonderful ideas right off the bat! Her prices are fair and reasonable and she's been worth every penny! She's responsive, is able to stay within our budget, and had ideas I never would have thought of. We keep moving room by room and the lower level (Phase 1 😉) is complete. We've just begun the upper level (Phase 2) and I'm already excited about the ideas she had this morning when we spoke. She really is terrific at her job!!

Mary and her crew did an excellent job and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Very easy to work with, able to make some changes on the fly and we jointly came up with great solutions to the little hick-ups that inevitably came up. Mary was onsite frequently. Her crew was very meticulous, neat and very careful around our numerous existing plantings. We will be hiring Mary for Phase 2 of our backyard makeover next year.

In and Out Design did a great job of both the design and the work. Mary and the hardscape specialist met with us, and recommended several options, including type of pavers to use, several options for stairs to the kitchen door, where to start and end the patio, colors, and type and color of sand to use. They requested the appropriate permits and inspections. The information we were given as far as the timing of the work, and the amount of time it would take was accurate, and communication was good throughout the project. The technicians who installed the patio did a great job of the work, then cleaned up everything, removed all the debris, and even fixed places in the yard where they had to bring equipment over the grass. We are so pleased with the results; the patio looks great. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

Mary's design assistance was spot on. She researched and presented several options for patio materials while helping us make a final decision that worked best for our home. Her crew worked extremely hard and finished the job beautifully.

I contacted In and Out Design and expressed my interest in getting an estimate on some landscaping. Mary DiCarlo came over for a consultation. Mary was very friendly and easy to talk to. She was very patient with me as I did not know exactly what I wanted. She put together two different designs incorporating the plants and bushes we had discussed. I was very pleased with both designs. After making my final choice Mary kept me informed of everything she was doing leading up to the installation. Our original installation date was rained out but Mary and her crew went above and beyond to reschedule on my day off. The crew was exceptional and the installation was completed in a few hours. Everything looks beautiful and I am very pleased. After the project was finished I emailed Mary with a few questions I had and she answered me right away. She also came over twice to check on everything. I would highly recommend In and Out Design and would definitely contact them again for some future projects.

We're moving to a 1980 house as soon as we finish remodeling most of the living areas. Mary DiCarlo has been a valuable member of our project team. In fact, she is everything you could want in a designer. She's creative with a great eye for color, style and proportion. Among other tasks, she helped us choose beautiful colors and finishes. This included two different, but equally striking stone wall treatments for our two fireplace walls. She helped us make good, informed decisions within our budget. And she didn't pressure us to follow her personal taste preferences. On top of everything, Mary is a pleasure to work with. Her calm, good nature has been a big help during a stressful transition. We would definitely enjoy having Mary a part of any future decorating project.

It went beautifully. Mary and her crew were on time and were very professional. Mary stayed all day to oversee the entire project. Her attention to detail was amazing and she was in constant contact with us and her crew. There were no issues and they cleaned up when they were done. Mary gave us instructions on watering the plants and trees before she left. The next day she emailed us before and after pictures, which we really appreciated. From start to finish she was actively involved in the project and worked with us closely to keep our costs down, while still giving us an amazing finished product.

Mary did an excellent job. We wanted a contemporary style in the front and had a design in our mind. She clearly understood our interests and brought a beautiful design. Couple of meetings later the design was finalized. Within a week the work started and the finished landscape design looks beautiful. We get lot of compliments from neighbours and friends. We wanted a seating area in the front and it turned out amazing. I cant wait for the summer next year to enjoy the landscape. Thanks to In & Out design. Mary overall did a wonderful job.

It didn't turn out great. It was okay. She ended up being a little bit late getting back to me on things. It took a lot longer than I expected. When she finished, I did get what I had paid for. She came out right away. She didn't deliver the design right away. Because she took so long, I decided not to go with her to implement the design.

Mary was really good. I had earlier set up an appointment only for design consultation. Later on, I ended up doing all the installation with her. She was really good and gave design suggestions. Paul was just awesome and we so love our backsplash. She helped choose the backsplash as well. We also did some electric work. We are very pleased with her work and would surely work with her again.

My wife was in charge of it. It seems to have gone fine. I don't have anything good or bad to say about it. They did not charge anything more. They did a design for us and that's all we paid for.

We decided to seek advice from an interior decorator before repainting the interior of our home. We were not looking for an extensive remodeling, but simply a short consultation to get ideas for colors and how to use our existing furniture and accessories to better advantage. We were completely satisfied with every aspect of the service, including scheduling. Mary was very pleasant and easy to work with, and provided exactly what we were looking for from a short design consultation. We would not hesitate to use Mary's services again, or recommend her to others.

I had been mulling over redoing the landscape in the front of my property and called Mary over sometime in 2014 to take a look. She did give me a nice design but between our being undecided if we wanted to go ahead with it and my wife wanting some changes to the design, things never progressed and nearly a year passed. After this summer, the landscape had deteriorated so much that I decided we need to get the landscaping done. So I ended up calling Mary again and went back and forth with having the design. I was amazed that she was willing to go back and forth with the design and get back to us promptly on every communication we sent since we probably would not have come across as serious customers. She assuaged our fears about all the plants dying in a pre winter installation and we found her to be extremely knowledgeable about the plants that would suit our property. Finally we got a very reasonable quote which was agreeable to me and I signed the contract. I did not go around shopping for more quotes and felt fairly comfortable that the for the effort and material needed, this seemed a very fair price. However, when she gave a Monday installation date, we both hesitated since we could not be around during the installation and we went so far as to even cancel the whole project in the last minute. Mary bent over her back and rescheduled another client of hers and gave us a Saturday installation date to suit our convenience. At that point, I was totally bowled over her dedication to getting this done for us. Her team was here promptly on time and to my surprise, Mary came by too and stayed the whole time during the installation on a rather rainy day out in the cold. She even made onsite changes as required and accommodated our last minute requests to some changes. Not only that, but she did several other small touches like putting up extra pots of mums and decorative pumpkins to spruce up the color right before halloween. Not only that but she took really nice before and after images and sent us a PDF. She also gave us very detailed instructions how to care for the sod and beds and has been in regular touch since the installation to see how things are going. She does not even come across like a business owner to me. Rather she talks to you like a neighbor from next door and that certainly puts us at ease throughout this process. Last but not the least, the landscaped property looks impeccable now and really spruces up out otherwise old 1950s colonial house sitting on the property. We are certainly thrilled that we ended up doing our landscape and even more that we did it with a wonderful person as Mary. at some point, I will include some images, but I thought I would put this review up first. I have already spoken with her about redoing my patio next year as well as the backyard.
