I called One Stop Intercom on July 6 and Jay responded to my message the same day, we scheduled time for him to come out the following week. Upon his arrival, on time, he assured me he would first look to repair the system to control the costs. Within 15 mins he repaired the radio operation and told me he needed to order a part to repair the doorbell which he would have the following day. He arrived the next day repaired the doorbell and ultimately saved me more than $1000 by preventing a replacement of the whole house intercom system. I have already recommended One Stop Intercom to friends who are having problems with their system. Jay was awesome!

They came out and fixed it right away. They troubleshot an issue that the vendor for the original system could not figure out for weeks. They patched up our intercom system in the first attempt and got it working. It was an inexpensive patch. They did fantastic work. We were pretty impressed. Their experience enabled them to resolve an issue that the vendor of the system couldn’t figure out. They are a small enough company, but they definitely spent time on the details of the project. Ours is a 16-unit building, and I feel the original vendor focuses on larger buildings. I don't think they spent as much time as they should have when they came out. One Stop Intercom definitely paid attention to detail. They had no idea what our system was about, but they did the job pretty quickly. They were definitely excellent for the job that they did at the price that they charged for the issues that we were having. Their customer service was great as well.

He did a great job. Fixed exactly what we needed and the service call fee is not too bad.

Jay was GREAT. He was unbelievably professional and didn't screw around. Within minutes he knew what the problems were with our system and said it was an easy fix. He even suggested improvements to the system, some of which he did at no additional charge. Our system works perfectly now, and I would highly recommend anyone who has buzzer issues to give him a call. A+++ work.

The repairman arrived a couple of days after the initial call, was on-time and the box has worked perfectly ever since.

He came out and gave us an estimate and ended up doing the work for us. Everything went very well. He also had to replace the old display board for the system.

The main intercom system of our 4-flat was not working properly. We called One Stop Intercom on a Wednesday and they responded same day and scheduled to come out that following Saturday. Jay came out and assessed the intercom and it was determined the wiring was loose and needed adjustments and the buttons needed to be replaced. In addition, the speaker was worn and replaced as well. Jay was scheduled to arrive at noon, but called and stated he would be available earlier, which was great!

Jay was extremely professional and this was an excellent experience. Upon his punctual arrival, he immediately got to work and found and repaired the faulty wiring that prevented the two buzzers from buzzing, then replaced the intercom speaker/microphone which restored functionality to that system. After ordering a set of new buttons, he came back for a second visit (within less than one week of the first visit) to replace them and finish the job. Other contractors had told us they weren't even sure they could repair the buzzers, and so recommended replacement of the entire system at many times the cost of what we ended up paying. I give my highest recommendation to One Stop Intercom.

That was the best experience I've had with a repair service. Jay showed up the day after I first called him to give me an estimate, and in the course of the estimate, did an incredibly thorough review of our system. He also gave me a very reasonable price at that time -- no waiting for the estimate. After consulting with my neighbor, I called him to schedule a time. He called me back promptly and was incredibly accommodating with scheduling. Four days later, he arrived promptly and went to work. He fixed what he thought he would fix but found a couple of additional issues in the process. He was able to fix those as well, for a nominal additional charge (I think it was $10 more). He was professional, really friendly and, as I mentioned, really thorough. I would recommend him to anyone -- he knows what he's doing.

The intercom/door buzzer for our self-managed condo building was not working and hadn't been since I moved in. No one in our building had any idea how to open it or program it, so I called One Stop Intercom and spoke with Jay. I couldn't even figure out who the manufacturer was, but Jay said he'd stop by and take a look at it. He immediately recognized the brand and showed me how to program it. I thought the phone company had installed a working line for the intercom, but Jay did some tests and was able to determine that the intercom wasn't connected. He then found and labeled all the wires for the intercom in the utility box so that the phone company could easily connect it when adding the new line that we will need to make it work again. He clearly knows his trade well and was willing to educate me while he worked. Jay even called me back a short while after he left to remind me that I could save some money by dropping long distance on the existing phone line because the intercom would need a line of its (I had thought the intercom could share a phone line with the emergency phone in the elevator, but Jay explained why that wouldnt' work). In summary, Individuals just do not come any nicer or more helpful than Jay was. He was willing to come out after normal business hours (5:45p) and still took the time to answer all of my questions. I really can't emphasize it enough... He was punctual, extremely knowledgeable and exceedingly kind. I would recommend him to anyone.

I called Jay and he actually answered the phone. I set up an appointment with him to come out and give me an estimate on replacing our current intercom box with a new one. He showed up right on time and sent me a proposal the next day. I called him back 2 days later and scheduled the appointment with him to do the job. He was extremely accommodating with the day and time of the service. I saw him outside our building 10 minutes before he was supposed to be there and walked up to the building right on time. He removed the old box and installed the new one. He had scheduled 2 hours for the work and finished within the time quoted. He even adjusted the sound level of our system and changed the annoying buzzer noise to a much more tolerable one and lowered the volume of the noise so you do not here your neighbors being buzzed any more. We have this work done twice before and it has never gone well with another company and we paid the other company 900 each time and got a poorly made intercom box from china. Jay provided us with a box made right here in Elgin and our total bill was only 262.40. We will always recommend jay to everyone and if we ever need work done again we will call him back.

After having an electrician come out to install an intercom system in my 2-flat building, the system was not working properly upon completion. At that time, I did what I should have done in the 1st place and searched for intercom systems on Angie's List. I found One Stop Intercom and contacted Jay. I explained the ordeal I had gone through and he came by and assessed the situation. He told me what needed to be done and gave me a price. I accepted. He told me what that I needed to fix the lock on my door and to call him when that was done. I fixed the lock, called Jay and we set up a time for him to return. He was extremely, knowledgeable, prompt, reasonable and most importantly, professional. I am very pleased with the work he did for me and would definitely use his services again if needed and I highly recommend him. Jay specializes in intercom systems which seemed to work out much better than hiring a general electrician for this particular project.
